Recently, I read a story about a guy who had crawled to death’s door. He was right there, about to reach over, but resting because he was so weak. The burdens he carried were crushing him, making it hard to breath: all those overwhelming feelings of betrayal, failure and uncertainty. If he could only get past that door, he would be free. Maybe not free forever, but temporarily.
Willing himself onward, he started to reach across the threshold, but paused. A presence behind him beckoned. Over his shoulder, he saw the eyes of an angel. She smiled, and spoke. “What do you think you’ll find over there, big guy?”
“Peace,” he sighed.
“Ah, peace.” She nodded. “Ever think, maybe, you could find just as much on this side? Maybe more?”
Speaking taxed his last bit of energy, but he had to explain. “I can’t carry these burdens any more.”
She looked next to him, at the heavy bags he had packed and dragged across the floor. “Those burdens?”
He glanced sideways, moaned, and shrugged. “Can’t carry them any further.”
“So, you going to leave them here for me to clean up?”
His knuckles were white on the handles. “They’re mine. Don’t worry about it.”
She smiled. “Okay. But, before you go, I just baked an apple pie.”
The aroma of apples, crust and spices wafted from the kitchen. He did enjoy her apple pie. Maybe he could put the bags aside for a bit–right next to death’s door. In case he needed them.
She helped him to his feet, his arm draped around her shoulder as she helped him to the kitchen. After she guided him into the chair, she kissed his cheek and brushed the damp hair from his forehead. In the presence of her radiant smile, his lips curved upwards.
“Want some ice cream on that pie?”
“Sure.”
And they ate in silence. At times holding hands. At times immersed in awareness of each other. Until the pie was gone and she cleaned up the plates, the clink of silverware a musical note against the running water.
“Getting late, hon’; better get to bed.”
He took a deep breath, wondering about how delicious the spices were that she put in the pie, wondering what the spices were, glad that she was there and that his strength was returning.
“Better get you to bed.”
He yawned.
“And brush your teeth. We don’t want them rotting.”
He smiled, “No, I guess I’ll be needing them for a while.” He stole a look at the door. “What should I do with the bags?”
“Ah, leave ’em there. We’ll go through them later. Maybe give some of it to charity. Maybe throw some of it away.”
“I don’t need any of it.”
“Oh, don’t be so sure. We might find some valuable stuff there. You were taking it for a reason. Maybe some lessons. Something to share with others. Make their lives a little easier.”
His yawn grew wider. “Yeah, a lot of lessons in there. And a plan. A good plan.”
She kissed his forehead. “Tomorrow, big guy. Tomorrow.”
And as she snuggled next to him, he thought, “Cherchez la femme. Non, j’ai trouve la femme.”
And he heard the sounds of an angel’s wings settling in for the night.

I just had the cog regarding DM and the 2D. He has no children, right? He has ordered the murder of others, I dont think thats too strong a description when abortion is enforced. He splits up marriages, and deprives couples of pleasure. Secondly he has ensured CLO staff, through low income of orgs are fed pig slop. Only money bringers are rewarded. LRH had kids, children bring sanity to people, they just do… So much theta. If you are inclined to having the first indie baby from an indie wedding would be awesome! Although I guess you’ve been practising lol, anyway – that would drive DM berserk. Cant haves on other re food and babies is classic SP, abberative personality trait. So , again if you are so inclined, it would be cool to see a little “Marty” or “Mosey” in the future. (I just laughed imagining a response like – “OK, working on it”. Have a wonderful and happy marriage!

We’re off to do more ceremonies with family then disappearing for a couple days. I love seeing this photo! It does capture at least a little bit of your glow but I will say that live, wow, lightbulbs in the room were secondary.

The LRH marriage ceremony is beautiful! and Mike Rinder ministered it in the elegant, graceful sensibility that is his soul.
I was moved and inspired by the poetry and sanctity of responsibility of the ceremony. And Christie was beautiful, so steady in her creation and management of a large event, making a behemoth amount of work look effortless.
