Wake Me Up

  1. 1. I seldom have time for listening to music nor think that that most music is worth listening too, but this one was an exception. The tune, and melody had a very soothing tone to it and the singer’s voice was appropriate. It gave the impression that he was the ideal person to sing it.

    2. Something came up that I was not able to watch last Sunday’s 60 minutes on scientology, with you Marty.

Is there a recording and a link to watch it?

    If so where?

    Thanks,

    Dio

  2. It’s kinda sad that I can’t go to the examiner and put in writing how wonderful
the ‘sesson’ was. And the ‘auditor’ only knows how much help he was by the comments right here. So I guess the comment section is the examiner and I liked the lesson.
But I have to say You and Mosey have made it easier for a lot of us. Thank you both and that little guy that I’m quite sure is keeping you on your toes.

  3. I finally figured out why LRH didn’t like news reporters. They are investigators and he did not want to be investigated. So he leaves us with 16 year olds. This song all by it’s self is healing. Spread it far and wide.

  4. One of my favorite songs and singers!

  5. I adore Aloe Blacc…

  6. Thank you 🙂

  7. I find good music like this spiritually uplifting. I wasn’t familiar with Mr. Blacc. Thanks for introducing me to him.

  8. 😊

    I hear ya brother.

If I may… Not for the choir… More for my mother and father… And their ilk…

  9. What a beautiful, effortless talent. Just perfect!

“All this time I was finding myself,an’ I didn’t know I was lost”. Brilliant choice Marty – so true for so many of us.

  10. good one, great song and artist!!!!!!!!!! awesome message !

  11. I come to Marty’s site in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep from Sea Org drama.. I can’t afford the repair he offers. But I can afford this. Thank you Marty.

  12. Thank you indeed and, yes, Wake Up.

  13. “Wake Me Up”

Feeling my way through the darkness
    Guided by a beating heart
I can’t tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start

They tell me I’m too young to understand
They say I’m caught up in a dream
Well life will pass me by if I don’t open up my eyes
    Well that’s fine by me

So wake me up when it’s all over
When I’m wiser and I’m older
All this time I was finding myself, and I
    Didn’t know I was lost

So wake me up when it’s all over
When I’m wiser and I’m older
All this time I was finding myself, and I
    Didn’t know I was lost

I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands
Hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don’t have any plans

Wish that I could stay forever this young
Not afraid to close my eyes
Life’s a game made for everyone
    And love is a prize

So wake me up when it’s all over
When I’m wiser and I’m older
All this time I was finding myself, and I
    Didn’t know I was lost

So wake me up when it’s all over
When I’m wiser and I’m older
All this time I was finding myself, and I
    I didn’t know I was lost

    What I meant to say:
Aloe Blacc seems to be a good guy.
He was at Lollapalooza (in Chicago) and he is very creative.
He is a supporter of the cause Malaria No More.
    Thank you. Good memories here.

  15. burnedbutnotbitter

Love this song, never tire of hearing it. I am a disillusioned person right now and it fits…

  16. burnedbutnotbitter

thanks for giving publicity to Aloe Blacc, credit is always given to Avicii

  18. Still Awakening

Marty – Wonderful music and words. When we really look at life – do any of us know we were lost until we wake up? I, personally, can see how much waking up I did following this blog conversation for years. I thank you for all you have worked at communicating. I believe there are many of us who have gained from the experience. Yes, we are waking up when it is over, and we find we are wiser and older. Again, thanks!

  19. Thanks Sinar.

    I am very grateful!
    And more power to you…!

Thanks Marty and you too Mosey for the insight, enlightenment, entertainment and outright unbridled reform…..

  22. Marty,

    Re: 60 min interview:

    re: your answer to reporter:

    Is the COS a church?

    You: Yes, etc…

I don’t think any properly informed and intellectually and perceptually honest person can honestly say that the COS is a bonafide church. ( Bonafide means without fraud or deceit.) The cos’ def of church and reason to be a church, is loaded with stretches of the def and manipulation of the def, and more.

The deceit consists of several layers and types and reaons or motives, which are ulterior.

Ul·te·ri·or: 1 existing beyond what is obvious or admitted; intentionally hidden.
The worst lies are the ones that are almost true.

A couple of motives that I am aware of is to avoid taxes. Another was for protection against anti Hubbard and scientology forces.

The title of church was and is used for protection from law and legal actions.

It was and is used for the abuse of the freedoms in a democracy:
    1. freedom of speech,

    2. freedom of expression

    3. freedom of religion.

That red herring is expressed a couple of 1000 yrs ago in:

    1. Peter 2:

15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.

16 Live as free people, but do not use your liberty ( freedom) as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.

The title of “Church” was also acquired by force, for ulterior motives, and held in place by lies, deceit and argument.

I would also add that the title “church” was used as a cover, a front or valence, or and Trojan horse, for what ever ulterior reasons.

Using the operating datum; that the ends justifies the means, some of those reasons could be considered good and others not. A mixed bag.

Also keep in mind: absolute power often means absolute corruption.

I would say that the use of the word “church” to describe the COS is a abuse or bastardization of the word.

I also get the sense that you know or knew that, but were caught off guard by the reporter, and inadvertently spoke out of habit (automaticity) still lingering from your COS days and group indoctrination.

The sooner the datum that the COS is a church, is exposed as the valence or and Trojan horse it is, and the concealled or embeded lies are exposed to the light of day, the better. The sooner the demize of DM’s house of cards.

This is also another reason, why I say that nothing the COS says or does is free of fraud or deceit. The fraud and deceit are hidden by many layers of lies, arguments, deceptions and anything, any means necessary to defend and protect the fraud and deceit.

I never said it was a church.

  24. No – Marty did not call it a church – Marty called it a Religious CULT, which it is! Thank you Marty!

  25. As always, great videos.

  26. I just watched the video again.

    Marty’s words:

Yea,…. it is a religion, ….it is a religious cult.

  27. Idle Morgue

Marty – thank you again for delivering another huge blow to David Miscavige and his cult!

The H2 History Channel show – America’s – The Book of Secrets – Scientology – is on You Tube and I just watched it!

You did a fabulous job and were very sincere. Thank you!!!

  28. Jean-François Genest

    Nice song

  29. singandanceall

the debbie cook email woke me up.

  30. singandanceall

her email, for me, had so many wake me ups, it was unbelievable. All the outpoints came to truth vs policy vs hcobs vs personal observations over the years (knowing OT’s & clears and observing them IRL) vs self determinism vs knowledge vs what I don’t know, etc.

  31. I remember 25 years ago , I was working at saint hill in the UK , I knew there was something wrong there with scientology at the time and I remember wishing that scientologists would wake up to what was going wrong .
What I was wishing for is now coming true, more and more people involved with scientology in that era are finding out what went wrong .

  32. What happened was the staff members at saint hill in the uk became serious, and when I saw that happening I knew that it was no longer scientology , being serious and heavy is not scientology .

  33. Cece: people can’t even go to the examiner and originate that they walked in the front door of the church safely without an extra donation being attached to it. People in the church have the “tech” to cause troubles for people but isn’t that amazing that they don’t have the “tech” yet to clear up some of those problems? L. Ron Hubbard felt the same way. Church of Scientology are even different like RTC for example. It is not RTC’s job to deliver auditing or training it is just their jobs to license the tech for use. People like Lisa McPherson are examples of how even the Mecca of Technical Perfection (Flag) is a very out ethics place, where people blow from course, from auditing from the Sea Org and staff every day. The church has some freedom with no idea of how to maintain it. There is a lot wrong with Church of Scientology as whole be it RTC, SO, OSA you name it. And even Marty with all the books he as written including “What’s Wrong With Scientology” is like a lot of other people. There is still a lot more to be said. I would like for he and Monique to win her lawsuit together. Because when LRH was called upon to testify he ran and hid. Will David Miscavige do the same thing? Who would replace DM at the monthly or annual events he emcees! I can’t say I hate David Miscavige, I don’t, I feel as though I have a lot of real ARC to share with him I will never get the chance to. But, he drinks, he smells, he has asthma, he smokes, he’s greedy, he’s not even an auditor and he is a lousy boss because HE like the rest of church’s he makes believe he is being reponsible for, has the tech to make trouble, but no tech to clear it up. A real invalidation of anybody. And guess what is behind it Cece? You guessed right. O/W’s! What else is new? 🙂

  34. I hear you, ealadha. I think you and I had the same feeling, just worded differently. The way I expressed it was that the joy was gone.

  35. Ya I know what you are saying Lawrence – thanks. This morning with the news of the shootings I again realize what a wrong direction LRH took along with 200,000 followers who needed answers for themselves and to help others. If he had developed the therapy that worked for some, had an outside research group in to define those results, and left it at that (book sales). His wrong direction came when he dramatized his own ‘case’ and did his ‘one show fits all’ and then excluded those that needed other therapies and to degrade any one that did not follow his ONLY way.
I was very fortunate in the some 40 PC files of mine I never red-tagged, never had to try to influence the needle because I was not understood, never had a session I didn’t think was worth it (until 2004/5 when of course I never came back.) I make a point these days of remembering those wins to maintain balance.
I don’t have any hope for the church anymore and would like to see it liquidated like one would a bad business. Seems that is going quite well 🙂
My ONLY 1D focus on the church now is delineating for myself how I got into the trap so I don’t do it again. When I can put that into one sentence then I know I have figured it out and can move on. And my focus on the 2, 3 and 4th Ds seems to be like most of us here.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts 🙂

  36. You are quite welcome. And at least the shootings were not church related to my knowledge, like that Rex Fowler guy in Colorado. Isn’t that amazing that someone on OT VII responded to life by murdering a co-worker? It is hard not to laugh. now that he is behind bars for the rest of his life, was it worth for him to go OT? Bizarre. 🙂
