ARC is sacred

Thanks to Old Auditor I now have a brand new set of the Management Series volumes.  Look what jumped off the pages of the first PL in the first volume!

LRH from An Essay On Management (9 January 1951):

He who holds the power of an organization is that person who holds its communication lines and who is a crossroad of communications. Therefore, in a true group, communications and communications lines should be and are sacred. Communication lines are sacred. They have been considered so instinctively since the oldest ages of man. Messengers, heralds and riders have been the object of the greatest care even between combatants on enMEST missions. Priesthoods hold their power through posting or being communication relay points between gods and men. And even most governments consider cults sacred. Communication lines are sacred and who would interrupt or pervert a communication line within a group is entitled to group death – exile. And that usually happens as a natural course of events. Communication lines are sacred. They must not be used as channels of viciousness and entheta. They must not be twisted or perverted. They must not be glutted with many words and little meaning. They must not be severed. They must be established wherever a communication line seems to want to exist or is needed.

Any management of anything can raise tone and efficiency by establishing and maintaining zealously, as a sacred trust, communication lines through all the group and from outside the group into the group and from in the group outside the group.

The most vital lines of a group are not operational lines, although this may appear so to management. They are the theta lines between any theta and the group and the goal maker and the group. Management that tampers with these lines in any way will destroy itself. These actually have tension and explosion in them. It is as inevitable as nightfall that these lines will explode, when tampered with, at the exact point of the tampering. This is a natural law of communication lines.

A line is as dangerous to tamper with as it has truth in its channel. It is safe and even preserving of a line to cut it when it contains entheta. For example when a true line is cut, it charges a little power into the cutter and he has authority for a moment thereby. But it is only the authority of the cut line. If the line is thus made to perish, the cutter loses his authority. If there is much truth in that line, it does not give authority to the cutter, it explodes him.

A group has the right to exile anyone it discovers to be guilty of tampering with any communication line.

A management which will pervert an affinity or sever one may gain a momentary power but the laws here are the same as those relating to communication and an affinity tampered with will lower the tone of a group.

A management which will pervert or suppress a reality, no matter how “reasonable” the act seems, is acting in the direction of the destruction of a group. It is not what management thinks the group or the goal maker should know, it is what is true. A primary function is the discovery and publication, in the briefest form which will admit the whole force of the data, the reality of all existing circumstances, situations and personnel. A management which will hide data, even in the hope of sparing someone’s feelings, is operating toward a decline of the group.

A true group must have a management which deals in affinity, reality and communication and any group is totally within its rights, when a full and reasonable examination discloses management in fault of perverting or cutting ARC, of slaughtering, exiling or suspending that management. ARC is sacred.

Golden Age of Reduced Extortion Demands

From day one of the Independence movement, the church has used massive freeloader bills against former staff considering opting for independence.  Some people played the game and were corralled back into the pen.  Other more principled folk refused to accept any bill, insisting they were not freeloaders as defined by LRH, or simply expressing no interest in paying for standing or status in a corrupt organization.

Apparently the latter category of more principled people have proven to be more numerous than the church initially counted upon. Accordingly, the church is now overtly admitting that they have been holding inflated and off-policy freeloader bills over former staff members for years.  According to a recent email from the church a freeloader debt reduction project is now a full time undertaking.  In DM’s signature “arbitraries removed” style, the church is promoting that it didn’t quite dig LRH on the subject for all theses years. Independents – who have for months been advising former staff not to accept inflated, off-policy bills – have evidently brought about the “Golden Age of Reduced Extortion Demands.”

The church’s email offer follows:

Subject: RE: FREELOADER NEWS
It’s christmas and I have good news for you.

You may have heard already about it on the grape vine but I wanted to brief you up in PT on what is going on here at Management as regards to ex-Sea Org members which is very exciting.

With the advent of the Golden Age of Knowledge and since the release of The Basics, we’ve been getting in comm directly with the whole Scientology field to make sure everyone knew of the greatest recovery of lost Tech which took place and which is now changing people’s lives, right, left and center and has doubled the speed of
progress of Scientologist up the Bridge.

By doing so, we found that there were too many ex-SO in the field who were in need of assistance in getting back on lines and had been bugged on doing so.  I’m talking of a lot of people who have worked in the Sea Org and who did contribute to the expansion of Scientology in various ways and who for all sorts of reasons had not resolved their freeloader bill and had not returned to the bridge. Well this is the end of that. I first want to acknowledge you as one of those people who did come on board and did work towards the goals that LRH set out for us to achieve and making this universe a safe space for the Forth Dynamic Engram to be audited out and I want you to know that we’ve made a major breakthrough in resolving this matter.

We did a whole review of the situation and gathered newly all LRH references on the subject of ex-SO members and found the arbitraries which had grown over the years and which are now being removed.  Since then we have been executing a pilot program to review every individual’s billing and the original reasons for departure from the organization. As a result we have been able to assist hundreds of ex-SO in seriously reducing their original billing, thus handling their debts fully and getting them on-Source and on the study of the Basics and back on lines and moving up the Bridge.  THAT IS THE END PRODUCT OF OUR PROJECT HERE. Each person’s situation, contributions, longevity and services received, looked at individually and resolved.

There is quite some work that is put into this sort out for each person and I have just so much time in the day (and I’m getting through my own Basics and going in session too, you know).  I will help anyone who is willing to put some time and effort into getting their cycles sorted out. I will expect that once the sort out is done, then the cycle gets completed. I mean getting the greatly reduced bill paid off and getting one’s own full Basics books and lecture package to have one’s own KSW #1 fully in and to be well on your way to get any needed amends done (which includes helping others to get back on the Bridge with their Basics, too), completing your conditions and MOVING AGAIN ON THE BRIDGE. I’ve gotten a lot of people on the Basics courses and listening to their LRH Congress lectures since this whole program started and I really want this for everyone.

So it’s Christmas and I wanted all of you to know about this handling and I invite you to pass on the good news to others you know and  to write me back if you’re interested in getting your bill and situation reviewed and terminatedly handled.

Merry Christmas to all.

ML, Patty

Anyone who believes the church was prompted in this direction by the spirit of Christmas, or having only found out through the “advent of the Golden Age of Knowledge” is deluding himself.  Independents know only too well how this promotion follows on the heels of many a negotiated deal to steer former SO members back into the pen.

In either event, I recommend that anyone who has any doubt about ever returning to the church go ahead and make a deal. Negotiate as best you can and get the reduced figure put in writing. Whether you pay it or not is another matter entirely. But, at least you will not have a financial gun to your head during the process of sorting out where you are ultimately headed.  If the church attempts to add conditions, like turning on your friends, then you are going to have to make an ethical decision. Since Ethics is purely a personal matter, you should think long and hard about the effects that might have on your own spiritual well-being.

In the meantime, all you Independents who have been there helping out people in doubt, take a win and a bow.  You of all people should know that the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars saved by a lot of hard-working folks was a result of your selfless efforts to help.

Thanksgiving

Thanks to all the Independents, announced and yet to be announced.  The following from Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet sums up for Mosey and I how we feel about you all:

Then said the rich man, Speak to us of Giving.

And he answered:

You give but little when you give of your possessions.

It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.

For what are your possessions but things you keep and guard for fear you may need them tomorrow?

And tomorrow, what shall tomorrow bring to the overprudent dog burying bones in the trackless sand as he follows the pilgrims to the holy city?

And what is fear of need but need itself?

Is not dread of thirst when your well is full, the thirst that is unquenchable?

There are those who give little of the much which they have — and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts unwholesome.

And there are those who have little and give it all.

These are the believers in life and the bounty of life, and their coffer is never empty.

There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward.

There are those who give with pain, and that pain is their baptism.

And there are those who give and know not pain in giving, nor do they seek joy, nor give with mindfulness of virtue; They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breathes its fragrance into space.

Through the hands of such as these God speaks, and from behind their eyes He smiles upon the earth.

D.C. Independent – Tom Felts

Tom Felts has been very active as an independent Scientologist for years in the DC area. Tom has contributed a lot of good advice and wisdom to my blog which is very much appreciated. He has also brought his great sense of humor – he does stand up comedy as a hobby. Laughter, being a universally accepted valid therapy, is welcome here. Tom’s brand of wit is refreshing – satrical, but with class.  Tom’s insouciance is refreshing. For those in the greater DC area in need of a terminal to help you navigate your way through shark infest disconnect territory, I can’t think of a better equiped person than Tom. Independents going to the nation’s capital on business or vacation will have their lives enhanced by making his acquaintance. Here is Tom’s statement:

I was a CL V staff member for close to 15 years, and have had many great wins applying LRH tech (both Red on White and Green on White) to myself and others. I have found many answers to many questions through the application of LRH Tech, and really enjoy helping others through the same. There is a lot of “Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt” out there concerning LRH, Scn Tech, the “Church of Scientology” and so on, and if questions can be answered and rationality resumed, then I consider the job done.

I would also love to see some real delivery being done, on whatever level can be achieved. It will depend upon resources at hand as to what we can accomplish, but I am a trained HPCSC and Word Clearer.

I was a fairly new staff member back when David Mayo (what is it with these DM guys, btw?) was declared. There was an SO ED issued at that time that contained a purported excerpt from an LRH advice that said, in part “You cats better start learning to spot SP’s…” I did find it remarkable that someone who had trained with and under LRH would be found at this late date to be an “SP”, but I was still naive in that respect and thought organizational Scn had to do with case gain and betterment, not Stalinesqe purges, so I filed that datum in the back of my mind and went on with my post.

Fast forward a number of years. I had been removed from post by an SO mission with NO justice actions. I took an LOA and requested a Comm Ev. The Comm Ev never happened. I returned from my LOA after 6 months, and was sent to LA for Tech Training. It was revelatory to me in a number of ways. The biggest revelation was a brief face to face meeting with David Miscavige, where we passed each other in the hallway in PAC Base.  I “knew” at that point that I would never be able to peacefully co-exist with that being in that state. The earlier LRH advice flashed in my mind, and I resolved at that point to quietly finish up my contractual obligations and move on, which I did.

The incidents that occurred publicly in the following years only confirmed my earlier observation: 1) The IRS win, which was a huge group win in the US, was used to promote an individual, instead of the group; 2) The confidentiality of the “Upper Level” material was fully breached (a primary purpose of the SO was to protect such data); 3) The death of Lisa McPherson, at the Flag Land Base, no less. Tech was out in a major way, which means that ethics had gone out earlier; 4) The “Golden Age of Tech”. “When people can’t get results from what they think is standard practice, they can be counted upon to squirrel to some degree. The most trouble in the past two years came from orgs where an executive in each could not assimilate straight Scientology.” – KSW 1. Need I say more?; 5) The positioning of DM as ‘source’. This was done both through visuals in different magazines, and his “Basics” evolution. You can no longer buy an LRH book at a Scn Bookstore. Think about that. 6) Confirmation from multiple independent sources of Miscavige’s internal “Terror Regime”. There were early hints of this coming down the management lines with the introduction of “SRA’s” or “Severe Reality Adjustments”. The true extent of the abuse is only now coming to light.

When I left I had attested to Clear. While basically successful in life, I had things going on that I knew needed to be handled. I have since completed Solo I-III, received OT IV, and all 3 L’s outside the RTC regime. I can only say that it has been a life saver in many respects. Late last year I went for a routine medical checkup and was found to have high blood sugar and high blood pressure, as well as being overweight. Through a combination of dietary changes, self-education, addressing of emotional issues (auditing) and some discipline, I have dropped 30 lbs, my blood pressure is normal, and my blood sugar is completely under control. My primary physician wants to make a model patient out of me, as he has never seen these changes in a person before.

But apart from the physical personal changes, there were other dynamics in play. As an early contributor to ESMB just getting an itsa line in to people out there brought forth an amazing amount of information, TA, true data and in some cases healing. Breaking the conspiracy of silence is the way to fight oppression. Once others realize it wasn’t “just them” the train starts rolling. It was only after the Anon scene burst forth that the noise and troll cannons arrived and tried to bury that board. But the stories fed the Anon phenom, both on ESMB and Ex Scn Kids. While I could speculate at length as to what that was *really* all about in the theta universe, just let me say that in the early days of FCDC (where I was on staff) those people would all be on a comm-course eventually if not right away. Perhaps it is the 4th dynamic protesting the “lack of results”?

I was declared shortly after the first Anonymous protest in Feb. of last year. I went to it as sort of “my own Private Switzerland”, (a neutral party to both sides). I was called by the EO a few days later, where we had a very long conversation about LRH tech, wins, incidents that indicated major problems of mutual interest (the death of Stacy Moxon Meyer, for example; Carla Moxon was one of my very first auditors) and my position vis a vis management, which was that DM was an SP, and since I had no avenue to handle that, I had to dis-connect. My declare came out 2 days later. “We have to protect the group” was what I was told.

My upset is that I do want others to have the same wins that I did.  At least the same opportunity to have them.And I don’t see that happening.  And since the group is no longer there to preserve, protect, deliver the tech and verify the results, then I shouldn’t really care. But for some reason I still do. Maybe I will get that handled some day…. Maybe WE can get that handled some day.

Hopefully this isn’t too long, and gives you a better idea of where I am coming from.

Eulogy for Earle Cooley

Earle Cooley, the best friend anyone could ever ask to have, left this world in October of this year. During  many of the hard times we went through together, Earle spoke to me half-jokingly about reaching Valhalla, the mythical Norse after-world where fallen heroes go. Earle used to describe it to me as he envisioned it – a  jovial pub where warriors would smoke, drink and tell war stories. Anybody who ever had the privilege of hearing Earle tell a story knows how enjoyable that could be.

Earle Cooley was a warrior in the most honorable sense of the word. Honorable warriors have big hearts. Earle had a heart the size of a barn.

I hired Earle to work for the Church in 1984.  In addition to being one of America’s most accomplished  trial lawyers, his brand of insouciance was uplifting and infectious. In his gravelly, booming voice he seemed to always be able to sum up a situation with a witty line.  In our very first meeting in Boston, Earle described a fellow opposing us like this, “You’ve got to understand,  the man is no ordinary thief. He’d steal the stove and come back for the smoke.”

Earle lit up any room he entered and he went out of his way to cheer up folks – especially little or powerless ones.  Here is a conversation – as best as I can recall – he had in Portland 1985 with a crestfallen cabbie who drove us cross town one evening.

Cabbie: Say, are you a lawyer?

Earle: Yeah.

Cabbie: I got a real problem, can you help me out?

Earle: Try me.

Cabbie: Some son of a bitch is claiming a right of way through my property and is using my land as a god damn driveway.  I went to a lawyer, and got all sorts of run around.

Earle: I don’t do driveways.

Cabbie: bummer.

Earle: But, I’ll tell you what, if you want to make sure the guy stays off your property, get yourself a Louisville Slugger (baseball bat) and next time he comes through, do what you gotta do.  Then you might be facing an A & B (assault and battery)  rap.  That, I can sink my teeth into.

The cabbie almost ran the car off the road he was laughing so hard. He thanked Earle profusely for making the problem seem so ridiculous and lightening up his evening.

After Earle got the Christofferson case verdict nullified by winning a mistrial motion, he received perhaps the last handwritten despatch ever written by L. Ron Hubbard. In large sweeping script it read simply:

Earle Cooley

Congratulations!

R

Earle always treasured that acknowledgment.

I never met such a stand up guy as Earle Cooley, never. No matter how bad the pressure from above, no matter how vilified by executives, no matter how easy it would have been on numerous heated occasions to blame a staff member for something that went wrong in a case, Earle would never do so.  To the contrary, I saw him defend staff from executives many times and several times I saw him assert a staff member’s error to be his own just in order to prevent the staff member from receiving punishment.

It will likely take several chapters to give my experience with Earle the context and meaning it deserves, and I can’t do that here. But, I want to dispel one misconception that I know exists in the minds of many observers. Earle was hung with several major losses the church suffered in the courts, starting most notably with the Wollersheim trial and verdict of 1986.

Here is what really happened. Earle Cooley did an amazing  job handling the plaintiff’s case in chief. For several weeks he worked around the clock preparing with staff and each day he did a masterful job of cross examination. So much so that at mid trial, when the plaintiff had rested and while the court entertained motions by the defense, Wollersheim and his counsel wanted to settle the case.

No case could be settled without Miscavige’s authorization. At the time, early 1986, Miscavige was consumed with jockeying Broeker out the cat bird’s seat and he was making himself scarce to me as Legal Exec Author Service’s Inc and Earle.  Notwithstanding Earle’s great performance he never let his ego surpass his intelligence. He understood that while a very good record was being made, the jury was lost after having gotten weeks of testimony on Fair Game. Earle negotiated a settlement with Wollersheim’s attorney. The case would be dismissed for $500,000.

Earle, through me, proposed to Miscavige that we accept. Miscavige, without ever meeting or talking with Earle, said that we could settle it only if Wollersheim agreed to put in writing that Scientology is not a fraud.  Earle and I both understood such a statement as part of a 1/2 million dollar settlement would be meaningless. Nonetheless, Earle dutifully carried out the client’s wishes. Sure enough, Wollersheim and his attorney flatly refused. Earle pleaded with me to use my best efforts to convince Miscavige to come off this arbitrary. He told me to make sure that Miscavige knew that Earle, who was scheduled for an angioplasty procedure, would not even be physically able to handle presenting the defense case and closing out the trial. I did my best, but  Miscavige, in his inimitable style, would hear none of it. I’ll save the invective he directed at me and Earle out of respect for the latter.  The rest is history. Without Earle at the helm we got hit for 30 Million dollars.  Earle took the loss on his own shoulders never once attempting to shift the blame. In fact, Earle Cooley won the Wollersheim case in my book.

And the world should know that Earle Cooley in similar fashion won every other legal matter he handled for the church thereafter, even though  the church took heavy public losses. It wasn’t Earle – it was the client, each and every time.  Earle – being the professional he is – just kept serving up pearls before swine.

I’ll share one story that I believe captures Earle’s character. Once in the early nineties I sat at counsel table handling Earle’s files in a critical hearing. We were before Federal Judge Spencer Letts in LA bringing a motion to recuse Judge Ideman in the RTC, CSI vs. Mayo, et al case.  The Mayo case was turning into a train wreck for the church, and I was under orders not to bother coming out of the courthouse without the recusal in hand. Earle knew I was under heavy pressure. Letts started out telling Earle he only had a given amount of time – and it was short and before he could complete his argument, Letts told him to sit down. Earle looked at me and I guess saw the desperation in my eyes, turned back toward the Judge and kept on arguing. The Judge ordered the Federal Marshalls to escort Earle out of the courthouse – one on each arm.  I then stood and kept the argument going before Earle was out the door. I kept it up for several minutes before opposing counsel complained to the judge that I was not a lawyer. I too was escorted out by the Marshalls.

When I was released at the front door I mosied up to Earle who was sitting dejectedly on the courthouse steps. While offering me a smoke, he noticed how disappointed I looked, and said with his huge grin, “Marty, I saw you handling Letts. You could talk a cat out of a herring.”

The cheer up didn’t last long, because the inevitable phone call came demanding the debrief.  I walked away so that Earle wouldn’t have to hear the profanities and denigration spewing out the ear phone. But Earle knew what was happening. When I returned to my seat on the steps beside him, we both looked into the street blankly. Then Earle patted me on the back and said, “don’t worry my friend, we’ll get to Valhalla yet.”

While my stories are necessarily personal to me, realize that Earle performed his herculean tasks out of love for LRH, the technology he created, and humanity as a whole.

To Jeanie, Chris, Eddie and Harry, if there is anything you need, I am at your service, 24/7/365.

Earle, save me a seat at your table in Valhalla. It may take me a while to earn it, but by then I’ll have many stories to share.

Steve “Thoughtful” Hall ferrets out DM’s spy network

Steve Hall (center) and real friends

Steve Hall has apparently really got DM’s goat. The latter has targeted the creator of Scientology-cult.com with repeated infiltration efforts. He has three missionaires who used to be RTC (until DM dismantled the place in late 04) working frenetically to flip “friends” of Steve presumably to build a “dead agent” pack on him.  The irony is precious. All three missionaires doing DM’s bidding were historically disaffected as all hell with DM through the eighties, nineties and at least to mid 2000’s (Marion Pouw, Mike Sutter and Hansuili Stahli).  They were also notably incapable of duplicating and applying fundamental Scientology. Now, to compound the comedy, all the marks they have been flown around the world to handle were  severely disaffected with Scientology (yes, the subject – not the management or DM) when they approached me shortly after I put my webpage up several months ago. Since they seemed to have no use for the subject we fell out of comm. So, DM has only successfully brought back on board people who have no use for Scientology. A coincidence? I think not.

All of DM’s spy v spy  nonsense is all about cutting communication, simple and plain. Let’s take a look at what LRH has to say on the subject of those devoted to cutting communication:

“Why should it punish any variety or state of communication? Because communication is the only way out. To continue an entrapment it is necessary, then, to punish communication or some phase of it — to enforce or inhibit communication. In order to continue a barrier, to continue a trap in existence, you would have to debar communication. So therefore, a universe which operates all too often as a trap resolves  — an escapement from that universe occurs — when communication is expertly and knowingly handled. And when it is not well handled, it’s punished. Now, therefore we get a fixation in this universe.

“Now thereness is simply a part of communication. It is the creation of a station or a terminal from which one communicates. And that is thereness. So thereness and communicatingness are punishable things by those who desire to entrap. And they are good things to those who have some tolerance for and some desire for freedom.

“So we get the make and break of personality, of beings above and below a theoretical line. And above this line a person would find nothing terribly wrong with thereness and he would certainly find nothing wrong with communicating or being communicated to. And above this line he can survive as himself in full knowingness. And below this line we would have an obsession to punish or a feeling that there should be punishment for thereness and communication.”

Thank you Steve for continuing to be there and and for continuing to effectively communicate.

Massachussetts Independent – Ken Urquhart

It is my honor to introduce to you, from the cradle of American Independence, Ken Urquhart:

Hello.

My name is Ken Urquhart and I am an Auditor. Here is some information about my background.

A friend of the family introduced me to scn in 1957, and it has been by far the most important element in my life. My brief scn background is this:

I did basic training the the London HASI in the late fifties and early sixties. In 1963 I started work at Saint Hill and did staff tech courses there. I worked as LRH’s Household Officer, saw him every day, and he would chat to me about many different things — including his current R6 research (which became the Clearing Course). Between 1965 and 1968 I was mostly on LRH Communicator posts at SH or World Wide. LRH called me to the ship in 1968 and soon made me his Personal Communicator. As such I was his principal executive and administrative aide (but had nothing to do with the running of the Guardian’s Office, which was Mary Sue’s hat). Later, he created the post of Staff Captain to take the burden of executive support.
Of course, I closely observed, and learned a very great deal from his operations but what I found most revealing and valuable were his activities as Senior C/S on the ship. Now and then he’d take the crew c/sing into his own hands. When he did that, he liked to have me sit with him. He’d tell me what he observed as he started looking into a folder, what he would then look for, what he’d find, and what he was going to do about it. What struck me most was the infinite kindness he would show towards pc, auditor, and crew c/s, while at the same time remaining loyal to the highest standards of ethics, tech, and admin. It remains a delight to this day to remember experiencing LRH enjoying his great competence as a Senior C/S and the great power of his intention to mold the delivery line into what he saw as the Ideal. I try to carry that kindness into all my sessions and do my best to uphold ethics, tech, and admin as I know them.

In 1978, I moved over into tech delivery, and became a Flag NOTs auditor in early 1980. In 1982 I was the top-performing auditor in the NOTs HGC, averaging over 40 Well Done Auditing Hours a week, with 6 pre-OTs or more on my daily line-up. When David Mayo did a tech mission on the NOTs auditing at Flag, he commended me for “good metering, good TRs, and excellent TR4.” Many of the pre-OTs that came to me had had their NOTs setups in the Class XII HGC. Some of them voiced the opinion that I had to be a Class XII since they found my auditing “so smooth.” Of course, I corrected them, but the error continued into the 80’s and 90’s as I was usually listed amongst the “original Class XII’s” that the Sea Org had kicked out. In pointing out my pre-OTs’ misconception, I mean no disrespect whatever to those great Class XII auditors whom I cannot hope to match.

Since leaving Flag, I have audited at David Mayo’s center at Santa Barbara, then on my own for many years. I have done a lot of different kinds of projects but I enjoy auditing the most. I audit most levels, but not Power Processing or the L’s. I’m happy auditing any level and consider myself a specialist in NOTs and related actions.

I am available for some traveling to clients. I live in Western Massachusetts. I would be happy to be part of a delivery community somewhere but am not making any decisions about that for the moment.

Please feel free to contact me. Thank you for reading this. 🙂

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

New Clearwater Independent – Jack Airey

Jack with Christie

Jack Airey is big in many ways. Big body, big heart, and big ole Thetan.  He has been active lately attempting to get his old friends to  take a peak at the truth.  Of course, notwithstanding DM’s and Tommy’s insistence disconnection does not exist, his selfless, humanitarian efforts have been met with several outright and cruel disconnections.  These things take time and patience is a virtue in these times, as evidenced by Jack’s own evolution. Jack has written a knowledge report on what led to his declaration of independence. I have reprinted it below in full. I highly recommend everyone read it, and particularly those who might have been led by DM’s church to doubt their own perceptions, and those struggling with the distinction between “church of Scientology” and “Scientology”.  Please give a shout out to Jack – he is a great friend and has a hell of a sense of humor. Watch out though, he also possesses a highly accurate bullshit detector.
KNOWLEDGE REPORT

My name is Jack Airey.  I am an American public Scientologist.  I became a Scientologist in 1968.  I attested to Grade IVx release in the late 80’s at Orange County Org.  In December of 2008 I finished the Basics and full lectures course in Div 6 at FLAG after being off org lines for about 20 years.

I have experienced many personal spiritual gains from my 41 years studying and applying LRH Scientology. I have seen similar gains with friends and others I have met in various Scientology organizations.

My concern & doubt is with the upper management within the Church of Scientology. This observation began in June of 2009 when I read an article in the St. Petersburg Times very critical of David Miscavige the, Chairman of the Board of the Church of Scientology,

This was a front page article in the Sunday paper. I gave it a read and was alarmed to learn David Miscavige, the church’s Chairman of the Board was accused of treating various high level Sea Org members with violent, brutal, physical attacks on numerous occasions.  The lengthy article was not critical of the church or its members, only critical of Miscavige.  The article was quoting four high level ex-sea org executives.  These were Marty Rathbun, Mike Rinder, Tom De Vocht & Amy Scobee.  These four had spent a combined 119 years in the Sea Org.  My first reaction was….oh shit, can any of these accusations be true.  At first read, I was not able to confront the information.  I dismissed this article as a he said, she said type of thing.

On August 2nd the St. Petersburg Times published part II of this continued article.  More Sea Org Executives speaking out about Miscavige’s physical abuse. After reading part II, I noticed you could go to their web site to view interviews done on video.  I looked at two videos.  In most cases you can tell when a person is telling the truth or is trying to spin the truth on camera. Not always, but most of the time when un-trained every day folks talk to the camera, the communication is real. My “Theta Explosion” occurred viewing the Gary Morehead & Marty Rathbun videos.

I found these two gentleman’s statements to be very credible. I have a certificate degree from UCLA film school In TV & Film Production and have produced two 35MM short films, numerous corporate and documentary videos. I have spent thousands of hours looking at actors and non-actors on camera while editing film and video.  I know when a person on camera is acting or telling the truth and I am convinced Gary Morehead and Marty Rathbun did not have an evil agenda telling their compelling stories while in the sea org working for International Management at the GOLD facilities in the desert in California.

I think this is when I went into “DOUBT” with the current Church of Scientology. After viewing all the videos I went into a much higher condition of, “PISSED OFF”.  I typed Marty Rathbun’s name in Google and discovered he had a blog.https://markrathbun.wordpress.com/  I proceeded to read many of Marty’s blog postings.  Marty also lists a “BLOG ROLL” on his blog and of course I started reading most of these postings.  I discovered a community of blown church and sea org members and some current church members flying under the radar who have lots to say about the state of my church.  The most telling for me is Marty’s “31 factors for Scientologist’s to consider”. This can be located by hitting a button Titled” 31 Factors on the top header of Marty’s blog.

Seems Miscavige over the past 30 years has suppressed the Church of Scientology to a point where the church might not survive the next 30 years.  I feel so sorry for all the hard working Sea Org members, their families and friends.  When the Ft. Harrison had its recent grand opening I was sitting in row two directly in front of the podium where David Miscavige gave his speech.  I noticed his immediate staff was very nervous as he came to the podium.  I took a deeper look and my immediate perception was that they were in fear of their boss.  I invalidated that perception, but as I got into Miscavige’s head for a peek I was immediately turned off.  I remember thinking, what does everyone see in this guy.  Beyond the nice suit I was not impressed.  I walked away from that event very, very curious how this man who was so full of himself could have risen to the head of the Church of Scientology.  That day I compromised by own reality by not looking further.

In the Code of Honor, published November 1954 (Professional /Auditor’s Bulletin 40, 26 November 1954, written by L. Ron Hubbard you will find in item one the following code: “Never desert a comrade in need, in danger or in trouble”.  How in the hell can any Scientologist support this current church’s management knowing Human Rights abuses are taking place at the highest levels by the leader of this church.   Not Me!!!  Seems to me by not confronting this tyrant of a leader, one is deserting other sea org and church members world wide.

Yes, I have read the issue of Freedom Magazine trying to convince its readers all is well and the 14 blown sea org members with a combined 362 years of service to the Church of Scientology are the problem not the solution.  I know a PR puff piece when I see & read one.  If Miscavige is a saint with clean hands & so innocent why does he need an 80 page over the top puff piece with his picture on the front page to hit your mail box in less than 45 days after the last St. Pete Times article.  When I finished reading this issue of Freedom Magazine, my first question was; what the hell is Miscavige hiding?  My second question was; if LRH was alive what would he say & do about this issue of Freedom Magazine?

Item six in the Code of Honor is “Never compromise with your own reality”. My reality is simple.  Things are not what they seem to be within the management of this church.  There needs to be an out in the open investigation so the truth can be known.  The Church of Scientology makes bold statements about their membership size, number of missions in the world and that they are the fastest growing religion in the world. If this is true, the church needs to prove it with written audited statistics and complete mission addresses, not PR bullshit.

I have recently read the two KR’s from two upstat New OT VIII’s on Marty Rathbun’s blog where May Jo Leavitt details point by point with complete LRH references why the Church of Scientology is in a condition of treason. Unbeknown to one another new OT VIII Sherry Katz during the same time period, was sending similar KR’s up line with no communication coming back from upper management. I believe what these two women have written in their KR’s and this leads me to Item 2 in the Code of Honor. “Never withdraw allegiance once granted”.  My allegiance has always been to the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard not to Command Intention. NOTE: I agree with Mary Jo Leavitt when she writes, “Command Intention is a squirrel “catch all” term that really means “David Miscavige’s orders.”

After 4 months of research on the internet I have decided to sever my relationship with the Church of Scientology.  It is impossible for me to ignore the statements and cry for help from one time devoted highly skilled top managers of the Church of Scientology.

This decision was easy to make once I re-read The Code of Honor.  Item nine & ten states, “Your self-determinism and your honor are more important than your immediate life and “Your integrity to yourself is more important than your body”.

It has been an interesting, life changing and sometime frustrating 41 years as a public Scientologist.  As item 11 states in the Code of Honor.  “Never regret yesterday.  Life is in you today and you make your tomorrow.”

During the last week as I was writing this KR I noticed I was having case gain after draft 1 and draft 2.  I know this KR is the correct action because I can feel my power returning as my integrity grows and grows.

This is my last day as a church Scientologist and I have no regrets. Tomorrow I join the world wide group called, “Independent Scientologists” where honest, on source, LRH technology and exposing the out tech of current Church of Scientology management is the order of the day.

This is true

Reform

LRH wrote a despatch to someone at ASI when I worked there in the early eighties. He commented that one cannot win an argument with a psychiatrist. That is because right when you have the psych cornered, he simply says “you’re crazy” and that is the end of the argument.  DM is losing huge. How do we know? He has been reduced to sending little “OT VIII”  harbingers of evil tidings around L.A. to call Mary Jo Leavitt “psychotic.”  You think they have the cajones to say it to her face?  Of course not.  You don’t think there is any coincidence he’s accused me of  being a “fucking lunatic” on the record through Tommy boy? And when fourteen more stood up and corroborated the facts, all Tommy had to say was “Marty has a habit of collecting lunatics.”  They are desperate, man. Why?

What has been happening out in the independent field for the past nine months has had huge effects within.

Do you realize it is a virtual certainty that nobody has been beaten up at the Int base since June 21?   One of Miscavige’s first moves when confronted with the public revelations about the Hole was to close it down. He killed two birds with one stone. He moved International Management into his $75 million palace; and now he has minions writing perjured declarations that that is what it was intended for all along.  Of course, he has not had to rub elbows with what he considers the riff raff because Miscavige has largely kept himself out of the country to avoid the media, law enforcement, and other motivators. But, it doesn’t take much to buy a person who has been effectively held captive in a torture chamber for years. So, before long you’ll see other testimonials from visitors who have seen International Management’s posh quarters and a bunch of smiling faces behind the desks. I suspected this would occur, and it is one of the reasons I didn’t get too excited about all the demands that I go get law enforcement to raid the base and free the slaves.  Law enforcement would have arrived and seen a Chinese restaurant where the numbers racket normally operates.

A lot of people have received repayments and refunds with little hassle this year. Yes, the Church has been attempting to make people sign gag orders in “exchange” for r/r’s but those who listened to sound advice refused and received their money anyway.

Millions of dollars in freeloader debts have been canceled. Many families have been reunited because the Miscavige regime has made deals to prevent people from becoming independent.

Long-term creditors have been paid off overnight.

PI’s are being withdrawn too rapidly to be orderly.

For the first time since LRH passed away millions of dollars have been spent on Scientology ads.  The campaign was launched on 15 May, exactly five days after the St Pete Times phoned Tommy asking to interview DM.  You can hardly click on any site making mention of the word Scientology without being bombarded with ads.  You might get the idea this is bad as it directs more potential victims into the belly of the beast. I doubt it. DM has the doors to the orgs welded shut with his exorbitant prices, suppressive finance systems, and creepy programs to take PEOPLE out of the dissemination cycle.  In the past couple months I personally have gotten three brand new people onto the independent Bridge because they happened across my blog while investigating the subject more on the net. When you talk truth on the subject, including not withholding or lying about what is going on with the church, it is almost impossible not to interest someone in the subject.

I have had people thank me for advising they take a strong stand that justice be done when to their surprise they found cycles they could not sort out for decades magically come right with the church.  They apologized that they couldn’t stand with us – but swore lasting friendship (albeit secretly).

Every person who stands up represents perhaps dozens who will be treated more humanely,  at least temporarily. I am sure that many of the people Mary Jo Leavitt reported on as being abused and ripped off by the church have already been made whole by the church. Not out of a sense of justice but to cover DM’s derrier.  And so Mary Jo and Sherry and Steve and Dan and Marriet and Shannon and Hiro and Christie and Cathy and Roberto and Damaris and Jim (and all fourteen who spoke out during the summer) have helped hundreds if not thousands of  people. They may never be thanked by the vast majority of people they helped.  But, I know what they have done and the ripple effects they have created and want them to know they are appreciated.

It is almost amusing to see people get all worked up about coups, and org boards, and moving in and taking charge. Why bother? DM and his minions have been largely working on our agenda  for the better part of the year.  I can  tell you on just about any given day where DM’s latest Boy Friday Tommy Davis is and what he is doing.  And I don’t have to hack reservation computers like he does to find out. We cause it. Sure, they continue with their criminality, and their reg tactics and squirrel tech are reaching new unprecedented lows (that is tough to change as  is inherently what they are about).  But, don’t lose sight of the fact that they’ve been forced take their boots off of the necks of many individuals.

While he has spent more than ten million dollars (conservative estimate) trying to keep the story local to Tampa Bay, Miscavige is busy churning out internal propaganda that he is under one of the greatest attacks from the forces of evil because of Scientology’s “unprecedented expansion.”  He figures he’ll get away with that Big Lie and weather this storm like he has so many others in the past.

Don’t fall for it for one second. I have seen the cycle repeat numerous times. When the heat is on he acts like little Lord Fauntelroy who never did anything wrong in his life (except maybe not save enough ailing doves).  The second the heat is off, he pulls off the benevolent “religious leader” mask, and announces in his best Jack Torrance, “Hello dear, I’m hoooooooooommmmeeee!” And it is hell all over again for everyone within striking distance.

While you all should take a win for all the individual people who have been helped, do not fall for the cosmetic – ad hoc basis – reform. In fact, it is no better than the flip side of the mafia protection racket.  Organized crime creates the threat, then protects the victim from the threat, for a price.
