Military Industrial Mind Control

It has been remarked that the most difficult thing for humans to face is evil. Rather than confront it for what it is, people reflexively attempt to rationalize it. That weakness allows the truly sociopathic to survive and even to run roughshod over society. 

When you take off the blinders and view what is behind the rhetoric, the propaganda, and the establishment narratives implanted in our minds you sometimes find that what you thought was benevolent and helpful is in fact rotten and pernicious.  

Let’s take a break from the Scientology angle for a moment and review what we’ve learned in articles on this blog since Feb 28, 2025.

The deans of American psychiatry and psychology are found to be involved with and supportive of “doctors” who systematically tortured human guinea pigs (ala Nazi concentration camps under the direction of Josef Mengele). This was done in pursuit of creating deployable agents to conduct political assassinations, and to forget they committed the crimes and who directed them to commit them. As we will see, the research was also utilized to run psychological operations (psy ops) on the American public to make it more compliant with plutocratic wishes.

How could the very people who influenced and advised the leaders who brought this society to where it is today have possibly been involved in such crimes against humanity?  When you first answer the following question, it becomes more understandable: Where exactly is this country mentally, morally and spiritually? The areas that fall under the effective guidance and control of the mental health industry, funded by taxpayer trillions since 1950 to steer society into peaceful, prosperous productivity. I need not say more about the results of those efforts. Unless you are severely mentally impaired, you are aware that precisely the opposite of the 3 p’s came to be. Lawless criminality, rampant mental derangement, continuous mass shootings, organized political violence, all while the future economic prospects for our youth are worse than at any time in American history. For the first time ever, generations coming to maturity will NOT have a shot at being better off than their parents. 

But, then you might say “well, there’s lots of reasons other than the mental health monopoly. Like, how about the military-industrial complex, how about deterioration of our schools, how about perversions of the law and medicine? How about the economic engines fueling one undeniably corrosive factor, ‘Globalism’?”    

The answer may lie with a troika that formed during World War II whose stated intent was to infiltrate and control every one of the institutions responsible for each of the societal ills listed above. Its aim was literally to control the way the leadership of those institutions thought.

The mind controlling troika consisted of brigadier generals from the US, Canada and England. Military generals who were also the leading international lights of psychiatry – Brock Chisholm of Canada, John Rawlings Rees of England, and the U.S.’ very own William Menninger.

The three psych-generals collaborated with one another from the early 1940s until the end of their lives. Together they formed the World Health Organization (WHO) and installed one of their own, brigadier general Chisholm, as its first President where he reigned during all of the lynchpin, post war years 1948-1953. Realize, this was not simply “mental health”; the head shrinks took over ALL of health on a global scale.

The troika then formed the World Federation of Mental Health, installing brigadier general Rees as President in 1948. That year they also installed brigadier general Menninger as head of the American Psychiatric Association. An effective military junta seized control of matters of health and mental health across the western world. Based on these facts alone, is it any wonder that the Military Industrial Complex has utterly conquered American hearts and minds from coast to coast?

Paradoxically, these three founding generals shared and instilled leftist objectives with all of the elite psychiatrists of the day. Rees first outlined them in his landmark manifesto “Strategic Planning for Mental Health” (published on 4 Oct 1940 in Mental Health, vol 1 No. 4. First Rees called for infiltrating all levels of education:

We must aim to make it [psychiatric world views] permeate every educational activity in our national life: primary, secondary, university and technical education are all concerned with varying stages in the development of the child and the adolescent.  Those who provide the education, the principles upon which they work, and the people upon whom they work, must all be objects of our interest. For education that ignores the commonsense principles that have been more clearly evolved of recent years is likely to be of indifferent quality.

Then he widens the net to “infiltrate…public life, politics and industry”:

Public life, politics and industry should all of them be within our sphere of influence.

Especially since the last world war we have done much to infiltrate the various social organizations throughout the country, and in their work and in their point of view one can see clearly how the principles for which this society and others stood in the past have become accepted as part of the ordinary working plan of these various bodies.  That is as it should be, and while we can take heart from this we must be healthily discontented and realize that there is still more work to be done along this line.  

Rees claimed they had already laid “useful attack” upon, among others, “the teaching profession and the Church” and called for deeper infiltration of “law and medicine”:

 Similarly, we have made a useful attack upon a number of professions.  The two easiest of them naturally are the teaching profession and the Church: the two most difficult are law and medicine. Anyone whose memory goes back for even a dozen years can realize how big a change has been effected in the outlook of professional people, while certainly anyone with vision can see how much still remains to be done.

Rees urged psychiatrists use totalitarian communist methods of infiltrating society and advises fraud to cover up its eugenicist aims (covering up its ‘Mental Hygiene’ origins with the more palatable Mmental Health’ label):

If we are to infiltrate the professional and social activities of other people I think we must imitate the Totalitarians and organize some kind of fifth column activity!  If better ideas on mental health are to progress and spread we, as the salesmen, must lose our identity.  By that I mean that we cannot help so effectively if speaking for a National Council or any other body as we can when we make a more subtle approach adapted to the particular circumstances of the moment. It really wouldn’t matter if no one ever heard of this Council again provided that the work was done. Let us all, therefore, very secretly be “fifth columnists”.

I doubt the wisdom of a direct attack upon the existing state of affairs; even though there is a war on, that would still raise opposition, whereas the more insidious approach of suggesting that something better is needed—’why shouldn’t we try so and so’—is more likely to succeed.  The evolutionary process is essentially British, and I think that we should make it a fundamental in our propaganda plan.

Here again we had probably better be secretive and not mention the Council or any other body, but simply write or speak as individuals.  Don’t let us mention Mental Hygiene (with capital letters), though we can safely write in terms of mental health and common sense. When we do write it is important to remember that the understatement of a case is much more likely to be effective than its overstatement.

That this military/psychiatric cabal talk was not simply a one-off, aberrant product of an LSD trip is evidenced by the founding President of the World Health Organization (WHO), fellow brigadier general Brock Chisholm’s follow up address.

The Eradication of the Concept of Right and Wrong

Given at U.S. Department of Interior 23 October 1945, Chisholm titled his speech “The Re-establishment of Peacetime Society.”  The address was sponsored and attended by two prominent, high-level American leaders of Reis’ targeted classes for infiltration (politics and law). They were Vice President of the United States of America Henry A. Wallace, and Interior Secretary (and future Supreme Court Justice) Abe Fortas. Chisolm did not simply outline the future of mental health, but the future of all of society shaped by the controlling hand of psychiatry. Keep in mind, World War II had ended less than two months prior to this address. 

All quotations are bold and italicized and are taken from the contemporaneous publication of the entire address in PSYCHIATRY: Journal Of The Biology And the Pathology Of Interpersonal Relations, February 1946:           

First, the primary and ultimate goal of the “eradication of the concept of right and wrong” is spelled out emphatically:

The re-interpretation and eventually eradication of the concept of right and wrong which has been the basis of child training, the substitution of intelligent and rational thinking for the faith in the certainties of the old people, these are the belated objectives of practically all psychotherapy…

…The pretense is made, as it has been made in relation to the finding of any extension of truth, that to do away with right and wrong would produce uncivilized people, immorality, lawlessness and social chaos…

…The fact is that most psychiatrists and psychologists and many other respectable people have escaped from these moral chains and are able to observe and think freely…

Those who advocate the teaching of right and wrong – which virtually every law-abiding citizen of the world considers the first duty of responsible parents – are belittled as the neuroses of the “immature, the inferior, the guilty”:

…This bugbear (criticism or eradicating right and wrong) has no basis in fact whatever. We all recognize these reactions as those of the immature, the inferior, the guilty, which are not found in the mature, integrated personality…

…If the race is to be freed from its crippling burden of good and evil it must be psychiatrists who take the original responsibility…

Now that annoying conscience feeding distractions such as morality, ethics and religion are eliminated, Chisholm declares global “annihilation” of nations and nuclear proliferation not only sane, but vital. Realize, this pronunciamento is given less than three months after the nuclear bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, from the top psychiatrist on the planet no less:

…The people who definitely do not want to fight any more wars must promise annihilation to any nation which starts to fight and must be prepared immediately and ruthlessly to carry out that promise without parley or negotiation. This involves the continual upkeep of widely dispersed atomic rocket stations covering the whole world and a continual high pressure research program to discover ever more efficient methods of killing to keep ahead of any possible competition…

To achieve his aims, Chisholm promotes taking the rearing and education of children out of the hands of parents and putting it firmly in the hands of state teachers whom he finds to be tractable to following his “totalitarian” ways and means:

…The most important thing in the world today is the bringing up of children.  It is not a job for economic or emotional misfits, for frightened, inferiority-ridden men and women seeking a safe, respectable and quickly attainable social and emotional status, nor for girls filling their time before marriage. Fortunately there are recent signs of intellectual stirrings amongst teachers which give some hope…

And once that control is established, Chisholm suggests standard education be replaced with “psychopathology.”  Ever wonder how reading, writing, arithmetic, and the difference between right and wrong were driven out of the classroom?  Or how social engineering in publics got started and carried out? Wonder no more:

…Can such a program of re-education or of a new kind of education be charted? I would not presume to go so far, except to suggest that psychopathology, the sciences of living, should be made available to all children and primary and secondary schools, while the study of such things as trigonometry, Latin, religious and others of special concern should be left to universities…

If you take a long hard look at this, the World Health Organization’s and the World Federation of Mental Health’s post-World War II agenda was pretty effectively carried out. And you would be hard-pressed to find a single current societal ill that cannot be traced directly to that handiwork. Perhaps, with the possible exception of drugs. But, they got around to that, and we’ll get around to documenting it.

If there is any doubt about the types of politics this approach embraces consider this fact. Chisholm’s comrade and infamous Soviet spy Alger Hiss agreed wholeheartedly with the aims of this lecture and publication. In 1948, Hiss published Chisholm’s message on mental health in his socialist journal, International Conciliation; along with an introduction promoting it.

What we are witnessing here is a specious affliction on the psyche of western civilization. A form of mind control has been and is being applied to all levels of society. By their own words, the operators are acting as ‘fifth columnists’ trying to do the work of ‘totalitarians.’  Perhaps we’ve been wrong to focus on a ‘deep state’, ‘national security state’ or ‘d.c. blob.’  Perhaps it more closely resembles a Military Industrial Mind Control operation.

Real Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and other genuine peace seekers remaining in this country are perplexed with the bipartisan worship of violence and war in America. They ought realize that our increasing lust for death will likely never abate until such time that we recognize its sources and their once overt admission that it was their very aim from the outset. Perhaps this is wishful thinking since that very admission also contained the conclusion that “the church” was their first and easiest target for “infiltration.”

The rudiments bear repetition. It does not get any more Orwellian than this (War is Peace). We were told by the original President of the World Health Organization that the formula for “The Re-establishment of Peacetime Society” was total war carried out “ruthlessly” and “without parley or negotiation”:

Another MK Ultra Anti-Scientology Mouthpiece

Before we get to Jolly West’s involvement in the JFK assassination cover-up, another interesting link to the MK Ultra Shock psychiatrists vs. L. Ron Hubbard saga has surfaced.

It arises in the 2 July 1953 letter from the CIA’s Poisoner in Chief Dr. Sidney Gottlieb to his favorite apprentice Dr. Jolly West that we treated in Jolly West Part 1.  In the letter Gottlieb assured West that all his demands in exchange for full fealty to the MK Ultra Operation (CIA Mind Control) would be taken care of.  The letter introduces a new character to the story. Someone whom neither I nor anyone I am aware of knew the identity of.

Before we peruse the document, you should know that Sherman C. Grifford is in fact an aka cover created by and for Sidney Gottlieb. That was discovered and made known in 1979 by John Marks in his seminal book The Search for the Manchurian Candidate. Marks was also able to determine that Chemrophyl Associates (see letterhead) was a CIA front group created to try to hide the agency’s involvement in MK Ultra operations. With that in mind, now take a look at the 2 July 1953 letter, here.

Upon reading it myself, the first question that leapt off the page was who is the mysterious Dr. Hastings referred to by Gottlieb twice? To date that question has stumped researchers. He must have been formidable to have been consulted in the process of “making our initial assault on the top brass in your outfit” (the Air Force).  He apparently had the clout to pave the way for West to get whatever he wanted to practice MK Ultra mind control unmolested – someone who held sway at the highest levels of the Air Force. 

Some investigating discovered a Dr. Donald Hastings who fits the bill. According to a University of Minnesota bio (attached), Hastings was the head of psychiatry for the entire Air Force during World War 2 and then worked directly for the CIA. He became head of the department of psychiatry at the University of Minnesota from 1946 through 1967. Perhaps it was he who introduced Jolly West to CIA work when Air Force active-duty officer West received his medical degree from the very same university and department that Hastings led?

If there remains any doubt that we’ve located the right Hastings, this ought to dispel it. As a result of the Congressional hearings of the late seventies the CIA itself (in the very rare public disclosure of any MK Ultra related information) was forced to admit to the University of Minnesota administration that its psychiatric department was a CIA MK Ultra test tube throughout the fifties and sixties, the entire time in which Dr. Hastings reigned. This would indicate that West might have been involved in the precursors to MK Ultra (Operations Artichoke and Bluebird) and puts him much closer temporally to the fiends who began this human experimentation in Nazi concentration camps under Dr. Josef Mengele. West may well have been groomed for the role while still a student. After all, West went straight from University of Minnesota Medical School graduation under CIA shock doc Hastings into his residency at Cornell University Medical Center, whose chief of Neurology was none other than MK Ultra kingpin and personal friend of CIA head Alan Dulles, Dr. Harold Wolff. It was Wolff who later established the Society for Investigation of Human Ecology, which for many years served to launder CIA payments to corrupt and co-opt leading psychiatrists and psychologists across America. West states the following about his time at Cornell in a 1953 letter to CIA MK Ultra Director Sidney Gottlieb:

“It was at Cornell that my previous experimental work on hypnosis was done…My work in hypnosis there was done quite independently.” (read, sub rosa)

This was the several year tutelage of the young Dr. West. It explains how it was that West with zero practical work experience began his career in charge of the entire Psychiatric Department of what would soon become the Air Force’s largest medical institution (Lackland Air Force base).

Finally, but most importantly to our investigation, Hastings was in perfect military lock step with his MK Ultra brethren (Overholser, Cameron, West) in another important regard. Hastings was one of the first to speak unequivocally against L. Ron Hubbard and Dianetics. He treated Dianetics in the most scholarly way he could muster given his intelligence and temperament. He was quoted in the 5 July 1951 edition of the Minneapolis Star as delivering this anti-Dianetics pronunciamento: “It is a pile of nonsense.”  See Minneapolis Star.

I came across yet another document linking Dr. West with Dr. Hastings. It is contained in this 1956 letter from Arthur W. Melton to none other than the renowned psychologist B.F. Skinner (click here for Skinner letter). Hastings and West are noted as directly collaborating on mind research right within the descriptive boundaries of MK Ultra.

Incidentally, when you consider the crowd Skinner ran with it is no longer any wonder how he became instrumental in introducing psychological doctrine that was critical in destroying the fabric of western civilization. As the “very best” psychiatrists ran their drug/pain/hypnosis experiments, the top psychologists were lending their collective learning to the CIA in developing mass mind control. Ron Hubbard’s version of Nietzsche’s superman or Aleister Crowley’s magician).Note:  Scientology is at first presented in secular, scientific terms promising and then false reporting 100% workability.  In fact scientology never achieved even the scientifically recognized 20 to 30 percent placebo effect in terms of long-term satisfaction.  In order to explain away that discrepancy the less-than-placebo percentage who stick with it are led to adopt the remaining listed beliefs.  The ‘technology’ evolved being carefully designed and administered so as to lead scientologists to wholeheartedly accept and live according to these beliefs.

2.  Planet Earth is a prison. The vast majority of human beings – and billions of             invisible other beings – are its inmates.

3.  Xenu is the name of scientology’s Satan who established Earth as                                  a prison and transported billions of beings to serve as its inmates.

4.  Our continued imprisonment is assured by ‘psychs.’ ‘Psychs’ are                                    defined as psychiatrists, psychologists, psycho-therapists, priests,                                ministers, and anyone else practicing in the field of the mind and                                  spirit.  Psychs were sent here from a planet called ‘Farsec.’  They are a                        special breed of being created and invested with the sole purpose of                            keeping humankind mentally imprisoned.

5.  Ron Hubbard is the first to discover the above ‘truths’, and the only                             one to have devised a means of escaping the prison planet.

6.  Navigation through the only hole in the wall consists of closely                                        emulating Hubbard and behaving as he did when he lived.

7.  Enemies, including psychs as well as anyone expressing any doubt or                           reservation about these beliefs, must be destroyed by any means                                  necessary by scientologists. Such means include lying, suing, cheating,                        harassing, intimidating, blackmailing, smearing and by physical                                      violence.

8. When a scientologist has expended all of his best efforts in the vain                             pursuit of these beliefs he is expected to ‘discard’ his body so that he                           may continue to pursue them without such a physical ‘impediment’.

Whether the ultimate belief, number 8 above, constitutes suicide is a wholly subjective question of religious belief.

Scientology and Psychiatry

We concluded the last post here, Scientology and Misogyny, with the following words:

Regardless, there is little question that the church of Scientology and its 30-year-tenured supreme leader David Miscavige are so misogynist as to qualify as anachronistic, if not outside of the law and boundaries of common societal mores on the subject of the sexes.  We will shed more light on this subject over the next several days.

Now, let’s address some facts.

Lori Hodgson visited with us in April 2011.  She was there on 18 April when the Squirrelbusters (SQBs) first arrived.   I had already just learned quite a bit about the leaders of the original SQB crew prior to their arrival. That is because one of the reasons for Lori’s visit was to heal from the terror they had already individually and collectively visited upon Lori.  I was going to publish this article while Lori was with us, but we held off because Lori considered it might not help at that time in her ongoing efforts to reunite with her two children that had recently been estranged from her.  We both agree that publication is now appropriate.

Hearing Lori’s story in full reminded me quite a bit of the Clint Eastwood directed movie Changeling. Eastwood accurately and brutally depicts early/mid 20th Century psychiatry used as a corrupt, political tool by the powerful and greedy. The movie is based on a true story.  Watching it a second time, and comparing it against what Lori and others have been subjected to by the church of Scientology made me recognize that Scientology has come full circle. In some ways it has become worse than that which it so blindly and aggressively resisted for so long: 1950’s institutional psychiatry.

Lori Hodgson did not have her family knocked apart by random, unfortunate circumstances.  She was subjected to Black Dianetics in the worst sense of the word, including Pain, Drug and Hypnosis techniques.   It was carefully planned, artfully and then overtly and quite intentionally executed.

Two key characters in this story were participants on the bizarre raid on my home conducted on April 18th 2011 (which raids continued unabated daily for 199 days), see Squirrelbusters: Day One.  Mark Warlick, the silent one, with the camera at the bottom of the stairs, was the Director of Special Affairs Los Gatos Scientology Organization that day. John Allender was the gang leader – a go-to OSA (Office of Special Affairs –the dirty tricks and propaganda arm of corporate Scientology) field operative.  Allender’s ‘security rating’ as an OSA operative was certified by Warlick with these words, ‘I trust him with my life.’

Lori’s former husband is a man by the name of Jim Leake.  He is pals with Allender and Warlick, mainly by virtue of being a good, reliable, ‘OSA-volunteering’ Scientologist in the San Jose area. John Allender’s wife Lynda – as “Senior Case Supervisor” was overseeing Lori’s Case Supervisor (the Scientology authority who closely supervises auditing sessions, including the intimate states of her client’s minds) through much of her “auditing” in the church.

These characters – and others – conspired over three years to steal Lori’s daughter and son, protect a dead beat dad (whom many states prosecute and jail for extended periods of time), and intimidate so as to obstruct Lori from exercising her legal rights to remedy the injustices.  All the while they used Scientology ‘philosophy’ and ‘technology’ to cave her in in an effort to make her think it was she that was lacking spiritually and mentally in demanding that truth and justice prevail. Just as institutional psychiatry was used in dealing with the woman portrayed by Angelina Jolie in Changeling.

In late 2008 – while in the middle of her Dianetics auditing program with the Church of Scientology (as supervised by Lynda Allender), Lori required invasive knee surgery.   The first surgery was a gross case of medical malpractice.   The problem that was supposed to be cured was exacerbated, leaving Lori crippled and in chronic pain.  But Lori was discouraged from seeking redress, since the  doctor was a renowned surgeon whose former wife and two kids were on staff at Los Gatos org.   He was known not to be too happy with that state of affairs and apparently the church didn’t want that sleeping dog disturbed.  Lori had the first surgery corrected in 2009 – which involved extremely intense work to remove the previous surgical product and replace it properly.   Both surgeries necessitated Lori taking pain killers over extended periods.

While Lori was being hooked up to IVs with pain killing drugs in preparation for the  (first) extensive knee surgery, her former husband Jim Leake was frantically attempting to solve his several year old potential criminal prosecution for violation of dead beat dad statutes.  Jim had been in continual arrears on child support for the daughter and son Lori had born and raised, since shortly after 2006 (Lori divorced Jim in 2002.) Jim was creating that debt while continually pitching in at every insistence by the likes of the Allenders and Warlick and their Scientology brethren.  Jim’s solution fit hand in glove with the intentions of the Scientology organization.  And pursuant to the Scientology ethics system, since Jim’s aims paralleled the Scientology organization interests, he would be backed by the full power of the organization and Lori would be treated as fair game for personal destruction.

Through brainwashing, coercion and fear tactics Jim was seeking to get Lori’s children into the Sea Org, before they developed the maturity to evaluate right and wrong for themselves. In this scenario Scientology would win netting two new second generation Scientologists for a lifetime of unpaid labor, and Jim would win, ‘because how is Lori going to demand child support when he’s deposited both of their children (without a proper education) into Scientology’s ‘religious’ order?’

Before Lori’s surgery ordeal Jim and the Scientology org had already accomplished this with Lori’s then-15 year old daughter Jessica.  One day she announced to her mother that she would never go to school again. That was when Jessica was an honor student and was clearly enjoying her traditional education.  It was also after high pressure recruitment sessions Jim arranged with Los Gatos org staff.   After 6 months of fighting this Lori finally agreed that her daughter could go to a Scientology school to finish High School.  Little did she know that recruiters had arranged for, and executed, her daughter to ‘graduate’ in 3 months at the age of 16 and signed a five-year Scientology staff contract.  That same year her daughter got home sick while on full-time study at Flag and came home to San Jose; she was straddled with a 12-13,000 dollar debt at age 16.

While Lori was flat on her back recovering from (her 1st) surgery, Jim took Lori’s 15 year old son Jeremy to a three hour high-pressure session with Sea Org recruiters.  Following the event, Jim and Scientology recruiters sent Jeremy to Lori’s house demanding that she sign away her parental rights so that he could join the Sea Org.  While Lori was recovering, in intense pain and while on heavy pain killers, Jim and the recruiters kept sending Jeremy after Lori pestering her to sign the papers.  Finally, a group of Sea Org recruiters arrived unannounced at Lori’s home, and while she was in excruciating pain in the bathroom, they pounded on her front door shouting and demanding entry (much like the Allender crew did at my home on April 18th 2011).  Lori attempted to protest this activity, but her own auditor – the one working under the Snr C/S Lynda Allender – persuaded her to shut up. Lori continued to protest, but Lynda Allender (Senior C/S) ignored her pleas and ordered her to focus on her ‘Scientology assists.’

Just two weeks before the second surgery Lori finally succumbed to the collective pressure and complied with demands that she sign parental consent for Jeremy to join the Sea Org.

After the messy, complicated second knee surgery, on day two in recovery at the hospital, Lori’s daughter was sent in to tell her mother ‘good bye’, informing she was leaving for the Sea Organization (to fulfill a billion year contract she had signed).

Jeremy  lasted only 7 months in the Sea Org.  He cried many nights to come home, but never was allowed to tell his mom.  He finally did come home.  But when she tried to remedy whatever he had experienced in the Sea Org that caused him so much terror and grief, she was rebuffed because Jeremy was forced to sign a non-disclosure bond that threatened him with a $3 million fine if he told his mother anything about his Sea Org experience.

Jessica lasted even less time in the Sea Org.

After recovering, Lori attempted to pursue Jim Leake for his nearly two years of delinquent child support payments.  The Director of Special Affairs Mark Warlick stalled her from going to court using Scientology policy against ‘suing’ fellow Scientologists as authority. Finally, in 2010 Lori began to educate herself on the Black Dianetics nature of the Scientologist church.  She traveled to Corpus Christi for a few day visit with Carol Kramer, Mosey and myself.   She resolved to return to utilize Dianetics and Scientology techniques to remedy her engrammic Scientology church experiences.

Within a day of her return to San Jose Lori was stalked, assaulted, and threatened by John Allender.   Allender hid in the (parking lot) by her office and spied on her for hours. When he saw her leave for the day and that she was alone, he assaulted her and threatened her in the parking lot, asking ‘how do you like beatings?’

Lori’s daughter Jessica and son Jeremy were then put into long, mind control sessions with Rick Melrose at the San Jose Mission.  Rick with the help of Jim Leake, convinced Jessica and Jeremy to disconnect from their mother.  They also convinced them that Lori was “imagining” that John Allender had assaulted her, that there was something wrong mentally with Lori. Jeremy was so viciously brainwashed that he coolly looked Lori in the eye and told her that it was her reactive mind telling her that Allender had assaulted her. Taking the pre-1950s psychiatric abuse of Changeling to a whole new level, not only the ‘practitioners’, but the child of the target was recruited  to convince his truth-telling mother that she was crazy.

On the morning of 18 April 2011, Lori and I had a long counseling session where we addressed all of the above – attempting to mitigate and repair the pain and suffering she had been subjected to.   When we broke for lunch, the Scientology team of Allender, Warlick and two other thugs with cameras – dressed out of some ugly, nightmarish implant – stormed my home.   The very day of the raid Lori received papers from Jim Leake’s attorney – clearly paid for by the church or at its direction – since Leake cannot even see fit to pay for his children’s upbringing.  The papers announced Jim was going to vigorously oppose Lori’s attempt to have her rights vindicated in court.   The four creeps being sent to Corpus Christi was clearly timed to prevent Lori’s personal recovery and also to intimidate her into dropping charges that were pending – an attempt to cut her  trip short so that she would have to return home to continue her legal battle against dead beat Leake.

Many people have speculated why I momentarily appeared to lose my temper during this incident and rip the microphone out of Allender’s hand when I learned his identity.   Perhaps this sheds more light on the context.  Less than ten minutes earlier Lori had run through Allender’s previous stalking and threats leveled against her in San Jose. Lori was frighteningly watching and listening to this entire incident as it was happening right outside her window in the downstairs apartment just behind me in the video.

Lori pursued the court action to remedy the law mandated 60% child custody Lori was deprived of by Scientology and Leake’s causing Jeremy and Jessica to disconnect from their mother.  Lori also sought to raise the issue of her son being made to sign a $3 million gag order upon leaving the Sea Org. Scientology and Leake ultimately dragged out the war against Lori until after her son Jeremy turned 18.  While Lori was awarded financial restitution, by the time Jeremy turned eighteen the court was powerless to do anything about the forced disconnection of her children.

Wake up.

Scientology Inc. versus the Psychs

L. Ron Hubbard was clearly not keen on the subject of psychiatry.

But, it wasn’t always that way.   In the late forties and early fifties Hubbard put a lot of effort into selling the psychiatric profession on the virtues of Dianetics.  In response, he was not only rebuffed but targeted by a well- financed campaign directed by the “very best” psychiatrists to expose Hubbard and Dianetics as  alleged frauds.  That campaign gained momentum for a couple of decades as it was joined along the way by numerous Federal and State agencies.

Increasingly, Hubbard fought escalating fire with escalating fire.  He gradually came off his original, soft conclusion from his first book, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, that psychiatrists and psychologists did not achieve results mainly because they did not possess a workable mental technology.  In the early fifties he often poked fun at the unworkability of psychiatry, psychology  and psycho-analysis (their practioners collectively referred to as ‘psychs’ in Scientology) in his lectures. Then he began to deride mental health professionals as working not to help humankind but instead to control it. His position, while stated with increasing vehemence that betrayed a personal hurt at being attacked instead of recognized by the mental health establishment, was not without support.   A four-part BBC documentary, Century of Self (available for free at freedocumentaries.com), though evidencing no connection with Scientology or Hubbard, very competently sums up the valid criticisms Hubbard had been levying for decades prior to its making and airing. It documents the primary use of mental health methodologies for controlling populaces rather than in improving or curing them.

By the mid sixties the organized psychiatric and psychological associations’ attacks were so effective, Scientology was in danger of being banned in every country it had been established in across the globe.  Hubbard took off the gloves.   He created an international intelligence and propaganda network, the Guardian’s Office, and directed it to infiltrate, expose and destroy the major national and international mental health associations attacking Scientology.  So hard-hitting and dedicated were church campaigns against psychiatric associations and front groups in the sixties and seventies that Scientology survived attacks that no other organization likely would have.

By the time I took charge of church external affairs in the early eighties, there were few organized psychiatric attacks extant on Scientology.  There were a handful of expert psychiatric witnesses in damages cases against Scientology just as there were in any other lawsuit dealing with issues of emotional distress.  But the behemoth organizations Hubbard confronted and combatted (American Psychiatric Association/American Psychological Association) were no longer a factor in attacks on Scientology.

Ironically, it was after he had won the war against organized psychiatry that Hubbard issued his final salvos against it that would justify his successors tilting against psychiatric windmills as a matter of religious conviction for the next thirty years.  From the isolation of the seclusion he imposed upon himself for the final five years of his life, in 1982 Hubbard pronounced as a matter of church policy and doctrine that psychiatrists constituted a special, identifiable type of evil spirit.  That is, no person within the ranks of psychiatry or psychology was anymore simply a person who wanted to help others but was misguided into unworkable fields. Instead, psychiatrists and psychologists were a special breed of being who had been psychiatrists lifetime after lifetime, for millions of years, and were programmed to create chaos and destruction to earth.  His final pronouncement on the subject directly contradicted and tore the heart out of essential basics of the philosophy he had created over three decades in that it adjudicated a class of people as inherently evil. Hubbard pronounced that the sole cause of crime on earth was psychiatrists – “There’s only one remedy for crime – get rid of the psychs.  They are causing it!”  Perhaps by the time we move up to May 1982 (when Hubbard published this anti-psych tract) in the larger narrative of Scientology’s history we’ll better understand Hubbard’s level of vehemence during that particular period of time.

Such context will no doubt be suppressed among corporate Scientologists.  The truth might slow the momentum of a very lucrative con built on Scientologists’ fear of ‘psychs.’ The church has raised hundreds of millions of dollars from spirited annual rallies condemning psychiatry and calling for the “obliteration” of ‘psychs’ as a duty dictated by religious faith. In the year 2011 corporate Scientology leader David Miscavige announced “Global Vengeance” campaigns against “psychiatry”, receiving wildly enthusiastic ovations from his core contributors.

One highlight of that presentation that ignited a particularly raucous response was the announcement that the annual American Psychiatric Association convention that year had featured a seminar organized to try to figure out why Scientology was waging war against psychiatry.  Miscavige was clearly tickled when disclosing this tidbit to the crowd.  In fact, he was giddy in his dandy, tailor-made tuxedo standing behind his elaborate, custom-made podium.

It made me consider the irony that the head of the American Psychiatric Association probably understood the cross L. Ron Hubbard’s had once borne better than Miscavige ever would.  After all, he was in nearly the same position Hubbard found himself in sixty years earlier when he no doubt perplexedly pondered , ‘why on earth has organized psychiatry decided to wage war against me and Scientology?’
