Richard Reiss – Kha Khan

Richard Reiss, long-time Senior C/S Flag Service Organization has recently left his physical body. He reportedly lost a bout with cancer. Richard died at the age of 66 on March 4, 2011. He died at the Brookside Hospice House in Palm Harbor Florida. Seventeen days after his death, less than a quarter of Flag staff, and handful of public gathered for a church of Scientology memorial service.

I believe Richard deserves to have the world know about some extraordinary things about his life. Things that David Miscavige will not only not ever let be known, but as you shall see below he will likely spend more pretty pennies trying to silence.

Richard was a giant intellectually.

Richard, though many never had a chance to see it, had quite a theta endowment.

I don’t know how many people got to see Richard relaxed and being himself. I was fortunate to have been one of them.  Richard, you see, as the Snr Technical terminal at the Mecca of Technical Perfection was under a tremendous, continual pressure to abandon his integrity to forward the suppressive whims of David Miscavige. In fact, in one of his last public appearances he was forced to announce the “breakthrough” in Objectives, that every Scientologist needed them (wherever they might be on the Bridge) and up to 125 hours of them to boot.  In my opinion that was the last straw for Richard Reiss.

In early 96, Richard and I were assigned to “qual check” the Golden Age of Tech” drills that were being produced by LRH Technical Comps Unit at the direction of David Miscavige. Richard and I spent weeks together, sitting across a meter and reads simulator in the Qual Division Gold, Scientology Inc’s Headquarters doing just that.

Richard had been pretty much rotting for months at Gold under the auspices of some kind of “Correction Program”. I think he had been sent there mid 95 shortly after Miscavige had pushed him aside to bypass to write Lisa McPherson’s long, rambling Clear r-factor – and then continued to supervise suppressive programs like Expanded Dianetics and Power Processes after that fact, driving her to insanity and ultimately to death.

Richard was happy to be finally assigned to something he thought was meaningful.

Richard was one of the most analytically gifted individuals I have ever met. To most I think he came across so analytical as to lack esprit vital. That combined with the fact he was under the constant strain of lesser minds of RTC children relaying micro managed and generally suppressive tech orders to him from Miscavige.  And yes, I was an integral part of that apparatus, and I wish I could have apologized to Richard and make it up to him before his untimely death.

But, I was lucky for a while.  I worked alone with Richard for a good period of time where I didn’t have to walk the suppressive walk.  In our little Gold staff auditing room, for many hours day after day, while we worked in privacy he couldn’t help but let his hair down. Many a time I got him to crack a smile, and sometimes laugh – and sometimes even line charge while we tried to make sense of the plus, minus shunt computer logic being implemented with a tech the founder of which once said, “the only way the technology can be lost is if you become a slave to procedure. There is no substitute for understanding.”

Richard and I would test the draft drills and attempt to correct them. Richard would run through the drill with me and we’d get to a “what do you do?” spot, and I’d answer something like, “well that depends. There are about four or five avenues I could explore depending on a number of factors not covered in the linear scenario just given.” Richard would suppress a smirk. Then I’d launch on a soliloquy on those four or five possible avenues, until Richard couldn’t handle it any more and he’d crack up. Richard would then put his straight face on again and slowly, but surely, cite a punch list of LRH references validating my contentions.

And Richard had a wicked, wry sense of humor of his own, with which he caused an occasional belly laugh for me.

I have told elsewhere on this blog what happened with those drills – a great percentage of our corrections were never made, and a higher percentage of the drills never made it to Richard and I before the RTC bots snatched them up under the orders of Miscavige to “make it for the event” (May 9 event 1996).

I tended to have a more practical understanding of the tech – having been assigned to unsnarl many a case Richard and the rest of the tech hierarchy “screwed up” under the stifling, blanket arbitraries enforced by Miscavige. I sensed Richard got a kick out of seeing me do so. He clearly wished that he could operate the way I was allowed to. Later that decade I would sometimes call Richard for a tech reference because the man could cite me chapter and verse for any principal I threw at him.

By now some of you may be wondering about the title of this post, Richard Reiss Kha Khan.

Well, I was assigned Kha Khan status by Miscavige for having been in his words the “guy who got us tax exemption.” Here is what LRH said about the title of Kha Khan that Miscavige based it upon:

In an ancient army a particularly brave deed was recognized by an award of the title of Kha-Khan. It was not a rank. The person remained what he was, BUT he was entitled to be forgiven the death penalty ten times in case in the future he did anything wrong. That was a Kha-Khan.

Admittedly, Miscavige – as is his wont – dished it to me for manipulative, calculating, and insincere reasons. Namely to entice me to return from New Orleans a month after tax exemption was obtained in 1993. (Incidentally, if anyone is having trouble tracking with this, I suggest you watch the 3 and one half hours of video taped interviews with me at http://www.tampabay.com/specials/2009/reports/project/rathbun.shtml . I just don’t have time to recount all of the context, and it would tend to divert from the man of the moment, Richard).

I tell the following story to explain why I have eschewed the distinction and on my own origination award it, instead, to Richard Reiss.

Miscavige and I first spoke to the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service in the late summer/early Fall of 1991. By the end of the year we were deeply into negotiations with a team headed by the D/Commissioner for Exempt Organizations of the IRS. We pretty much commuted to D.C. – a couple times a month for the next year, preparing and bringing boxes and boxes of documentation to answer all of the questions the IRS had. By the Fall of 1992 Miscavige was becoming extremely impatient with the process. He used every carrot and stick method he knew to overwhelm the D/Commissioner to grant exemption.

We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to gather intelligence to flank all of this. We even received information from credible sources from the White House. And by near the end of the 1992 we were hearing that Papa Bush himself – exercising his trademark indecision – was concerned about the effect granting exemption to the Church of Scientology would have on his re-election hopes.

And so, the stalemate continued for another year. Nine months into the Clinton administration in fact.

There was not a single thing we provided the IRS during the year 1993 that was the make-break point of exemption entitlement.

Yet, lo and behold, in September 1993 – several months into the tenure of a Clinton appointed IRS Commissioner – the IRS Scientology team started swapping settlement drafts. In the first week of October we received tax exemption.

Fast forward a couple years.

Scientologist celebrity Ann Archer took a White House tour. To her surprise she was pulled  aside and lead to the Oval Office. Moments later President Bill Clinton appeared for a very rare one on one meet and greet.

Ann thanked Clinton for his administration having granted tax exemption to her church.

Clinton told Archer a little story as to why he considered it was the right thing to do. Clinton said that in the sixties when he was pursuing his Rhodes scholarship at Oxford, he hung with a fraternity of Yale University graduates. He said that a couple of the members of that franternity were Scientologists. He said he never forgot how kind and spiritual they both were. He knew then and there – by the beingnesses and conduct of those Scientologists – that Scientology was a spriritual activity and that “Scientologists were good people.”

President Bill Clinton did not mention names. But, I’ll tell you straight-up, Richard Reiss was one of those Scientologist Yale graduate, Rhodes scholars who met Bill Clinton during those days in the sixties.

Richard never spoke to Clinton since Oxford.

Richard didn’t know him well enough to do so.

But, Richard didn’t have to.

Richard left his mark by simply being himself around some amiable genius from Arkansas.

And that is why I say Richard Reiss is Kha Khan.

And I hope Richard that you find yourself a healthy, strong body with some parents who recognize a beautiful being and mind when you join their family. Or not if you’d prefer to do something else.

Whatever you choose to do, remember, it is entirely up to you.

More Truth Revealed

Follow up to last post, Truth Revealed about OT VIII.

Lest there be any future mistaking as to who personally laid in the implant, please review the words below. They were penned by David Miscavige for his closing speech on “Org Night” during the year 2000 Maiden Voyage aboard the Freewinds.

Because, I have recently been reviewing many of your folders, particularly those who enrolled on New OT VII, or New OT VII Expanded, soon after the release of the Golden Age of Tech for OT’s.

And what was evident is that many are nearing full completion of that level.

In fact, I would use the word “imminent.”

So, we have also brought to the Freewinds the Golden Age of Tech materials for New OT VIII.

As part of that, I have also recently done a review of a great many folders for those who did New OT VIII, before New OT VII Expanded.

For the good news, there is no long training course awaiting you!

Your skills, as currently being demonstrated on Solo NOTs, will definitely take you through this level, AND EVERY SINGLE SUBSEQUENT OT LEVEL.

In fact, it’s all good news.

C/Ses at Flag have the precise instructions on what step to C/S as you complete New OT VII.

In some instances, it is best to do L’s at that point. Ultimately, every pre-OT should do the L’s but, LRH gave specific instructions on “case phenomena”, or I should say, lack of specific “case phenomena”, where the pre-OT should do the L’s immediately after VII and before VIII.

But again, that’s an individual matter based on specific case assessment.

Otherwise it is right onto and through New OT VIII and then up to IX and X.

For those who previously audited the level, you will of course do an expanded OT VIII.

And in that instance, the service is free of donation.

What you will find when you arrive is an issue describing any false data some of you may have been given.

As a whole, with some distance and perspective, it is pure squirrel cage.

This particular passage should be passed around to those who have had troubles in the past fifteen years on the Solo NOTs and OT VIII levels:

I have recently been reviewing many of your folders, particularly those who enrolled on New OT VII, or New OT VII Expanded, soon after the release of the Golden Age of Tech for OT’s…As part of that, I have also recently done a review of a great many folders for those who did New OT VIII, before New OT VII Expanded.

The last folders I am aware of David Miscavige personally reviewing and C/Sing were those of Lisa McPherson shortly before her spin, psychotic break and untimely death.

This particular passage should be passed around to those OT VIIIs who completed OT VIII prior to June 2000:

For those who previously audited the level, you will of course do an expanded OT VIII. And in that instance, the service is free of donation. What you will find when you arrive is an issue describing any false data some of you may have been given.

Steer clear of “Expanded OT VIII” lest you want to be a genie (wounded or not)  stuffed back into a bottle.

And the last sentence of that passage ought to be passed around to anybody wishing to achieve any level within Scientology Inc anytime in the future:

What you will find when you arrive is an issue describing any false data some of you may have been given.

Be wary, very wary, of David Miscavige issues replacing L Ron Hubbard issues under his trademark squirrel guise of “describing false data.”   Including, but not limited to the above, the sixteen page OT VII expanded, an entire stage full of “golden age of tech”, “golden age of knowledge”, etc…

Please also see the write up  below of a frequent contributor to this blog, OTDT, and his perspective from having experienced attempts to entrap him in Miscavige’s squirrel cage:

Having done VIII in ’89 and the original VIII Expanded in ’90 and all the L’s, I would like to state the following:

1. There was no false data given out on OT VIII in ’89 unless it was the entire bulletin itself, which I doubt because it aligned with data in LRH books. I experienced their campaign of recalling VIIIs back to the ship to handle ‘false data’ and do an ‘expanded’ VIII in ’90.  Their ‘false data fix’ did not consist of revealing that the bulletin contained any false data whatsoever. In fact, there was no false data revealed or found. The only false data was that there was false data. Maybe it was a ruse, used to condition people to the real false data that lay ahead in the future with the introduction of the ‘Golden Age of Tech’.

2. ‘Redoing’ OT VIII as an ‘expanded’ level after auditing more on OT VII is completely and foolishly squirrel and harmful and the only purpose would seem to be to confuse one and drive them down the tone scale into more solidity. I cannot see in any way that doing more VII would produce anything that would cause one to have to do more VIII.

3. DM’s ‘advice’ to do the L’s after VII and before VIII is suppressive.  OT VIII completely changes forever the way one would look at and audit one’s case in any auditing in the future. OT VIII reveals that one has been following a trick pathway inside the labyrinth.

Why send someone back into the extremely complex labyrinth of the L’s, particularly L-10, without this vital awareness, and especially after so much work on VII and when they are so close to possessing a vital piece of the treasure map that will help guide them through?

4. I’d like to know what kind of bullshit magic DM thinks he possesses that would give him the skill or awareness to be able to tell from looking at someone’s folder that they were imminently ready to complete the level. Haitian Voo-Doo or does he do a Turkish Whirling Dirvish dance that puts him in a semi-godlike trance of omnipotence? And why does he say, “I-I-I”? “I looked at the folders”, “I determined” this and that and the other thing? I, I, I. Why is he not allowing his senior technically qualified people to make the adjudications and indications?

5. OT VIII Expanded was and is not free of donation. You will unknowingly donate your previous gains, you sense of self, your space, your knowingness, your confidence and your self-determinism. The only way you should ever do VIII again is if you completely did not understand it at all when you studied it and really did not audit it at all and got no EP on the process at any time and didn’t even attest to it. Really, what’s the likelihood of that? Maybe one in a gazillion-trillion-brillian-frillion? Those are some odds.

6. I read DM’s illegal and out-tech written interpretations of OTVII which was mandatory for all VIIs and VIIIs in ’95 or ’96. They were filled with eval, inval and blatant interpretations of HCOBs.  Isn’t that nice. What part of Qual training did I fall asleep on where it talked about the way to fix a product is to write up a bunch of interpretive authoritative documents filled with opinions to shotgun everyone with?

7. I can essentially agree with Marty’s technical stance that if one is trained right and does the levels of the bridge thoroughly and has one’s Act One in then they very well might not need OT VIII, but I would add one corollary to that, that one must be armed with the knowledge contained in History of Man along the way and at some point have achieved the benefit of the philosophical practices contained therein. And I’m not talking about those goofy clam incidents or jack-in-the-box stuff, but very down to earth spiritual truths and nuances thereof.

8. DM himself can only be handled from inside, and handled the same way he gained power, first by beating the living hell out of him, threatening him with blackmail and then using lies to do him in. A time comes when one must turn and punch Satan in the head and use his blackness against him to do good and besides, it would be so much fun.

The successful formula for this would seem to lie in the mere corporate legalities of the matter, used with the right amount of courage.

Truth Revealed about OT VIII

Let me tell you why David Miscavige’s personal staff are currently jet setting all around the world desperately trying to drive OT VIIIs and OT VIIs back into the implant pen. Disappointed, confused, invalidated and in some cases simply broken OT VIIs and OT VIIIs have been coming to Casablanca in increasing numbers . While getting repaired and rehabbed we have been able to pretty much fully map the David Miscavige Black Dianetics version of “OT levels.”

We have discovered that David Miscavige has altered the Bridge in such a perverse and diabolical fashion that the “new” End Phenomenon of OT VIII lays in a dastardly implant. This explains why some OT VIIIs have dutifully agreed to start the Bridge over again like so many squirrels in a cage. And it explains why those who have not been successfully implanted have been left in a state of confusion (they had enough theta – and understanding of Scientology – left to resist being thrust from the prior confusion into the implant).

Sometime between 1988 when OT VIII was first released and early in the new millennium (if not earlier) Miscavige ALTERED the End Phenomena of OT VIII so as to reverse its effect. This truth has been revealed by the combined testimonies of more than a dozen OT VIIIs who completed the level as early as 1988 and as late as 2010.

Combined with the experience of a couple dozen folks who have spent decades on OT VII we have discovered how the NOTs band has been twisted to gradually create a confusion that serves as the prior confusion for the laying in of an implant on OT VIII. The operation is so dark and suppressive as to be difficult to confront. It explains why the NOTS band has been made more arduous the longer one is on it – the precise opposite effect of any auditing (including once NOTS and SOLO NOTS while L Ron Hubbard was around).

Let me draw some analogies for those not yet at NOTS or above. For those who are Clear but not OT, imagine your NED case becoming more solid and more arduous to address the further through NED you went. For those who have received Grades auditing, imagine each Grade becoming more difficult to confront and feeling massier and more suppressed as you move “up” the Bridge. Imagine in both scenarios that while the above is going on you are feeling progressively less self and pan determined and more other determined. Imagine that you are becoming more compliant and less free thinking and less and less able to differentiate and disagree.

Those who have entered the NOTS band and spent much time on it within Scientology Inc need no analogy. You have lived (or are living) it.

And we know the half dozen curve balls that have been entered into the NOTS band line-up by David Miscavige to create that effect.

The implant conditions an “OT VIII” to believe that he or she needs to start at the bottom of the Bridge over again, Purification Rundown, Objectives, etc, and an unhealthy dose of FPRD to boot. Miscavige’s bridge to nowhere is in fact not a bridge at all, but instead a squirrel cage. When you are done, you start all over again. He has “OT VIIIs” attest to something that carries with it awareness characteristics resembling those of someone newly entering Scientology at the very entrance to the Bridge. My post about OT VIIIs being routinely put onto Objectives was one of the most visited and commented upon posts in the 18 month history of this blog. See, https://markrathbun.wordpress.com/2010/06/08/ot-viiis-to-objectives-the-latest-in-reverse-scientology/

Now we know why it resonated with OT’s. Miscavige has convinced those who sit still for the implant that they need to gear up to slam their attention deep down the track and they need to up their confront for the task. The implication is they need this to apparently alleviate amnesia to get the answer to a question OTV III has always promised to answer. After OT VIII. And that is why so many OT VIIIs have felt such a deep-seated sense of betrayal and confusion upon completion of the level.

Now, wait a second! Didn’t L Ron Hubbard state that OT VIII Truth Revealed addresses and handles the reason for amnesia on the Whole Track? As a matter of fact here is what the currently published Grade Chart states under the “ability gained” column for OT VIII: Handles the primary reason for amnesia on the whole track.

We have experienced many tipping points over the past two years on our quest to salvage the subject of Scientology from the jaws of death. This point is different. This is the make-break point. The implant is known. Its remedy is simple. Beings can be and are being set free of this nefarious operation. They will continue to be forever. How do I know? Too many OT VIIIs already know the score. And believe me, they won’t forget. Because they now do know the reason for amnesia on the Whole Track – they have experienced it and survived it in real time – and they aren’t about to ever let it happen again.

I suggest none of us ever lose sight of what LRH said on the Class VIII course aboard the Apollo in 1968:

So anyway, Scientology is well named.  It is the road to truth.  It is a study of the truth. And total truth is total power. And when the guy hasn’t got any lies left in him he’s OT.  And all the mechanics of OT work out too. So, the subject is very, very well named.

The Only Pay There Is For Living

Shortly more than a month ago on this blog Mike Rinder predicted the following:

“Next up on the Vulture Culture agenda, once all personal possessions, teeth fillings and hair are sold off:

BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS”

You can review that posting here: https://markrathbun.wordpress.com/2011/01/20/what-will-they-think-of-next-2/

Well, now that I have reviewed the latest Ideal Org promo Scientology Inc is sending out, I suppose I will never accuse Mike Rinder of using hyperbole again.  Please be sure you are sitting before you get a load of this one:

And on the brighter side of life, don’t forget the only pay there really is for living:

Well, if you’re going to live life without feeling, without sensation, communication, ARC, understanding and a few other minor quantities, why live?  Why live?  Why not just be a — just take the cog out of the machinery that one is and just go out and lie down in a field someplace and expire, because there’s no point in it; because the things I’ve named are the pay you get for living; and there’s no other pay.

The pay is communication, sensation, ARC, understanding, cooperative endeavor, enthusiam over goals, activity; the feeling one is going and doing something.  These are the only payments that can be made to one for living.  There are some things that try to substitute for them: mink coats, Cadillacs, and big bank accounts. Person says, “Well, if  could just make a couple of million, then I would’ve been paid for it.” Well, ou and i know the answer to that. We see some of these follows that slaved through it for 20-25-30 years, let everything go by the boards but that first couple of million, or something like that, and there they sit in the preclear’s chair with ulcers. They were paid, apparently; they were apparently paid; paid in cash — but they weren’t paid in communication, sensation, understanding, feeling of a job well done, ARC. These payments they didn’t get, and it made them sick!  So there is something real about living, and that something real is life.

Daniel Montalvo v. Church of Scientology, et al

“You have seen how a man was made a slave; you shall see how a slave was made a man.”

– Frederick Douglass, 1845

S. Christopher “Kit” Winter of the Dykema law firm (HQ Detroit, offices around the U.S.) has filed two lawsuits in the Los Angeles Superior Court this afternoon.  Both are brought on behalf of his client Daniel Montalvo.   Copies of the suits can be found at the links below.

Kit is an extraordinary man.   Mike Rinder and I briefed him in detail on what he would be up against personally in suing on behalf of Daniel.  Kit is walking onto the field with his eyes wide open, and unflinching.

Daniel too was briefed on what he can expect to face and he too made a conscious, principled decision to proceed.

I know us old timers have referred to Daniel as the “kid” in the past.  As of today Daniel is no longer a kid.  Daniel Montalvo is a man.

Miscavige Brand Brainwashing

Miscavige event audience gear

On several occassions we have discussed the question, “why do Scientology Inc folk keep chugging the Kool Aid?”   Here are two examples where we have provided some answers:

https://markrathbun.wordpress.com/2010/12/04/freedom-from-overwhelm/

https://markrathbun.wordpress.com/2010/09/26/reverse-scientology-hypnotism/

Well, to hypnotism and overwhelm we can add the factor of brainwashing.  Check this out from an LRH lecture I just listened to called,  Upper Route to Operating Thetan, Ability Congress, 30 December 1957:

Now, brainwashing becomes very easy to understand if you understand the principle of survival. And the way to get this thetan in trouble is to make him do, and think he has to make an effort to do the thing he is doing, and therefore he engages continously in an effort, but he can’t do anything else  than what he is doing, but to tell him that  he has to make an effort to do it is the biggest trick that can be played upon a living being. You got that?  If you know that well, you really — you really got your wits wrapped around something…

…His difficulty, this thetan, is, here he is, and here’s — he’s doing something to do something that he can’t do anything else than do.  Do you get this as a super complication?  He’s making himself the effect of an action.   He says to himself, “I am making myself survive.”  When as a matter of fact, all he’s got to do is relax, and he’d survive.

Well, therefore, survival isn’t the most important thing in his framework; see, that’s not the most important thing.  We said it was very important and the common denominator of life in Dianetics, but it’s not the most important thing in his framework.  It must be that creating a difficulty is, so that he’ll have some randomity or some activity; a game.  And one of the best ways to phrase it is, well, he wants a game; he wants problems, he wants games, he wants things to do.

So therefore, he does this incredible thing of making himself the effect of his own effort to survive and we call that a game.

You understand, all there is to know about brainwashing is all you have to do is make somebody think he has to work hard and brace up in order to survive. That’s the single-denominator trick that is used in all brainwashing and not even the Russki understands it. He works like mad to do all kinds of wild, weird things and hocus-pocus and soul-searchings in order to get somebody brainwashed, and then he fails.

Well, the only time he ever reached any goal or attained any success was when he simply made somebody survive harder.  We get people suffering just from this.

A guy walks into a camp where he’s going to be brainwashed, they say “hocus-pocus, fiddle-dee-dee, and we’re going to upset all of you” and so forth, and the guy says, “Well, I’ll live through it!”  Made him brace up to it. Brace up to what?

If you can make a thetan brace up to it, “rahhhhhh!” — why, you’ve really done something, see?  That’s really doing something.  But he does it becuse he wants a game. Because at once he wants randomity and activity, that he is doing a thing that he can do and he can’t do anything else but do, and he couldn’t do anything else but do if he tried; he therefore tries, and this folds back on itself sufficiently to make a complication that not even he could possibly understand — he has said for many centuries, and then we stuck our toe out and tripped him. But that’s what he’s doing.

(bold face supplied for emphasis)

What message does Miscavige continously lay in with his hypnotic, overwhelming bi-monthly implants, but that survival is tough and requires oh so much effort – not to mention more cash than you could possibly afford to give him if you exerted more effort than an A bomb?  I think this case is closed.

The David Miscavige Vyrus (Virus)

How does a guy who gives a whole new meaning to the term “religious leader” (per his own PR flak) keep up with the Cruises in his driven assault to hang in the ranks of the rich and famous?  Easy, when he has a cash cow like the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization.   About four years ago Dave decided that his custom Harley and other custom top-of-the-line street bikes didn’t quite put him at par with his buddy Tom Cruise.  Shortly after,  his personal staff  informed then-Captain Flag Service Organization Debbie Cook that the FSO crew were expected to foot the bill approaching $100,000 for a custom-hand-made, over-the-top motorcycle, called the Vyrus. Debbie protested the order recognizing that the forced collections of substantial portions of Flag staff’s meager $50 per week pay over several weeks leading up to Miscavige’s birthday and Chistmas each year to buy outlandish gifts from FSO to Miscavige was a morale breaker among the staff.  Debbie was informed in no uncertain terms that Debbie did not have a say in the matter.  And so for several weeks all FSO staff were required to cough up money from their $50 until the Vyrus ultimate motorcycle was paid for.

The David Miscavige Vyrus is simply one, relatively small symptom of the David Miscavige Virus.  The David Miscavige Virus is the reverse Scientology justified think that the acquisition of  ever lovelier forms of Matter, Energy, Space and Time is an honorable goal.  Of course, those who are not infected understand that the Miscavige Virus leads toward death and states far below and far more ugly than death.

The David Miscavige Virus is pernicious and thus difficult to detect in oneself.  It is exacerbated by continuing to support the source of turning the road to freedom into the road to entrapment.  The remedy though is simplicity itself.  Find Out Who You Really Are, at which point an individual will come into valence.  A creepy synthetic identity will immediately blow, along with the impulses toward solidity that accompany it.

Good Health!

Scientology Inc Threatens Revenge on Paul Haggis

The following threat was posted on a blog created and operated by the Office of Special Affairs, the dirty tricks intelligence operation of Church of Scientology “leader” David Miscavige.   Last year I revealed on this blog that Scientology Inc was busy buying up every version of my name and Mike Rinder’s name they could figure:  https://markrathbun.wordpress.com/2010/06/25/david-miscavige-wants-to-be-like-mike/

Since this blog began, Scientology Inc has created more than twenty web sites and blogs devoted to attacking me.   After we exposed one after another and the unlawful and tasteless content on each, and Scientology Inc shut one after another down, they settled on one central “anti Marty” site. Again they pirated my name in a vampirish attempt to garner an audience, “martyrathbunblog.com”

The following quotation is taken from the latest posting on that David Miscavige ordered and micro managed site:

Anyone with any sense would know that the claims made by Paul Haggis in the recent media attack are what has been fed by Marty Rathbun, Mike Rinder and his extremist friends who have been making such scurrilous and false accusations for years. The journalist should have at least cross-checked some of the facts with someone who wasn’t a vicious religious bigot, scared of what the Church should know about them.

As a sure indication that there are skeletons he’d rather hide, Haggis tried to head off possible revelations of what he’s really been doing, saying that he expected a “scandal” about him to be the result of his attack on the Church. Methinks he knows he deserves to be exposed…hmmmmm….

Hell, he admitted to early criminal acts he withheld, and you can be sure that’s only the tip of the iceberg.

We’ll stay tuned…

While Scientology Inc has to date been very careful to cover Miscavige’s ass by candy coating his injunctions to “take out” myself and others, apparently the impact of the New Yorker article has caused them to yet again over-reach.  This latest passage I can intrepret no other way than as a threat.   It is a threat to unlawfully use confessional data among other things.

For Miscavige to direct such thuggery (and ask Mike Rinder if there is a chance Miscavige doesn’t micro manage that blog down to the placement of commas) publicly is testament to his complete loss of sanity, in my opinion.

Lynne Hoverson and Bert Schippers speak out in Seattle!

I have had the privilege of meeting these fine folks.   Their write up may be the most damning indictment to date on Scientology Inc’s disregard and disdain for those who empower it.  Btw, Seattle is rocking.

Bert Schippers and Lynne Hoverson hereby announce that we no longer support, and are no longer part of, the squirrel organization called the Church of Scientology.

So much has been written by others before us, that expressed exactly what we wanted to say when we could not. For that we thank you all very much! The histories posted helped us see that we were not alone, that the outpoints we saw weren’t just “something wrong with us.”

Who we are: Lynne joined Scientology in 1973, training on NED and then the Levels, and reaching OT III in 1986, the year Bert started in Scientology. We married in 1989 and started our own company. Since then Lynne has reached OT V and three L’s and Bert made it to OT IV.

Over the years we put off getting new cars and beautiful houses, instead donating our way to the levels of Patron Meritorious in the IAS, Double Cornerstone in the Super Power Project and Triple Humanitarian for the Seattle Ideal Org. We helped CCHR Seattle survive for decades, we worked as Volunteer Ministers and in various other church activities. We were told repeatedly that we were wonderful “Opinion Leaders,” especially during efforts to get more donations from us, but we were shunned instantly when we refused to toe the line!

You may wonder why we donated so much, may even think we were crazy to do so. Did we do it for the “statuses?” Absolutely not! Our purpose in donating was to HELP. We really thought that we were helping others, helping those less fortunate, helping protect freedoms. It made all the personal sacrifices less significant. Imagine the betrayal we felt after coming to see the fraud and human rights abuses so rampant in virtually everything involving the church!

What did we experience that brought us to the point of making this open declaration?

  • Finding out that Lynne’s son in the Sea Org would no longer be allowed to have children, and having to turn a blind eye to the fact that this was a direct violation of what LRH said about balancing the dynamics.
  • Being made to feel guilty about doing anything in life but what was “approved” by the church.
  • Forced disconnection from Lynne’s non-Scientologist daughter in 2001 until we saw the truth in 2009.
  • Inquisition-like ethics cycles at Flag with two MAAs reading the meter, baiting and badgering and then threatening expulsion for being upset with an MAA.
  • Completely botched Clear cycle for Lynne’s daughter, costing tens of thousands of dollars and many years of upset, with literally zero actual care, handling, or results from CC, Flag and AOLA.
  • The death of a dedicated staff member resulting in her being denigrated for abandoning her post and “pulling it in.” This person was one of the most helpful, gracious people who’d ever been on staff and everyone in the area loved her. The attitude that when something bad happens to you, it means you are a bad person, was drilled in over many years.
  • Experiencing the difference in Auditing before and after the “golden age of tech” and the redefinition of an F/N; generally the difference between “win” and “no-win.” (Though as LRH says, some wins came through from the actual tech, despite the alterations.)
  • SP declares on Lynne’s son and his wife for blowing the SO despite going back and completing a proper routing out cycle, leading to years of disconnection and more tens of thousands in dollars of expense in “handling.”
  • Non-stop “Crush Regging” for Money.
  • Lynne being treated by the Flag Rep as if she were a piece of property to be commandeered and shipped to Flag like freight.
  • An OT Eligibility cycle from HELL for Bert.
  • The Basics insanity – financial irregularities with the way our accounts were handled in order to “sell” Basics (we ended up with 10 sets in our basement.)
  • After donating $300,000 to the Seattle Ideal Org, we were treated like enemies because we are friends with Tony & Marie-Joe Dephillips – resulting in being denied entrance to the Grand Opening. (See attachment of communication exchange that took place)
  • In spite of the promise, in writing, that anyone who donated $5000 or more to the Seattle Ideal Org would have their names on a memorial plaque, our names were deliberately omitted! (See photo attachment.)
  • Having all our Scientologist employees quit, including Lynne’s son and his wife, and Scientologist customers stop doing business with our company, because we would not fire Lynne’s daughter for speaking out.
  • Being essentially “disconnected from” by Lynne’s son and his wife because we woke up.

Each of the above bulleted items has a long story full of church blunders and other wonders. Feel free to email us for details.

What finally woke us up? The SP Times article was too much to confront at first for Lynne. So she checked out what the church had to say instead. When Tommy Davis asserted that he had affidavits from 22 people that one person had beaten 50 people over a period of years, she immediately thought of the HCOPL “Knowledge Reports” where it says a group that allows such behavior is an out-ethics group. With a gasp she realized that Int Management was an out-ethics group!

Looking up more of Tommy Davis, she heard him lie about there being no such thing as disconnection – after all the disconnection we had gone through! That was like having a bomb dropped on her. Communicating all this to Bert, it turned out that he had already seen enough. After this we were willing to look at anything and evaluate it without the bias that had been inculcated in us over the years. Yes we saw plenty of falsehoods in the anti-church data, but we were finally exercising our right to look for ourselves and to determine for ourselves what was true. And too much of it was true, to be ignored any longer.

Why are we speaking up? Our purpose to help others is very much alive, in spite of these experiences. We still donate to charities that help orphans, the elderly and cats.

We want others in the local field to know that there is someone here to talk to. If anyone under the radar contacts us we will keep their info private until they wish to disclose it.

Now having had a review in the independent field, and an ethics program (NOT the MAA-punishment-to-protect-the-church-from-you-evil-beings type of action, but instead a true program that helps one regain certainty of self-worth,) Lynne wants to assure others that their eternity and their bridge progress are not in jeopardy if they leave the church.

We both feel that no one can force another to stand up and be counted because everybody has their own situation, just as we did. But we hope that our announcement will help inspire others to work through those situations so that they too can stand up.

Most Sea Org members and Staff members are incredible people, who also really want to help. We feel sorry for those people. They are sacrificing so much in their own lives in order to live up to the expectations of upper mis-management. There is so much that needs to be corrected, most of which we have experienced or observed for ourselves: controlled communication, enforced disconnection, forced abortions, unlawful imprisonment, human-trafficking, and demanding huge sums of money from parishioners under false pretexts. These and all other abuses perpetrated by the church must CEASE!

It is interesting that we’re now a family in a group of people with many different viewpoints on the tech and life, and we tolerate them all, just as we should have all along, instead of insisting that only one viewpoint was allowed. Lynne loved her training and wouldn’t trade the gains of going clear for the world. Bert, on the other hand, had some very discouraging experiences, and does not want to have anything further to do with organized religion. Among the large group of those who’ve left the church in the Seattle area, we know people with an even wider range of viewpoints than this, yet now we all get along.

Oh, and in case anyone from the church is reading this, WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK!

Below are our email addresses. We would be glad to help anyone in Seattle or elsewhere. Any OSA-troll or threatening emails will be submitted to the FBI to help their investigation of the church and for individual prosecution under applicable federal laws regarding harassment, hate mail, stalking, etc.

CBC Radio on Haggis and Miscavige

The following interview may be of interest. It ran on CBC this morning throughout Canada.   The interview begins at minute TWO and runs up to just past minute ELEVEN.  You may want to hang onto this link. It might be the most accurate, brief sum up of life at the International Headquarters of the Church of Scientology Inc to date.  It also gives perhaps the most fair treatment of Scientology Inc’s actual response to my statements of facts. Could serve as a good educational piece if you can pursuade someone to take ten minutes to learn what really goes in the world of Miscavge.
