I want a snapshot of his comm cycle for Sept/Oct 2005. That’s when there was a mass Unpersonning of Marty on all CoS websites. Also in that period, due to the odd policy of only registering CoS domains for one year at a time, over 60 org domains fell into expiry and the sites went dark. (They eventually straightened that out after many weeks, and probably lots of money.)
It’s like a blackbox to me, but it seems likely that he ordered all of INCOMM to work and sleep at their desks, erasing all mention of Marty (they failed), and no one was allowed to get a word in edgewise about the important stuff that was going to fall into the cracks while carrying out his whims.

I was escorted out of ASI under the direction of the T/HAS. What an umock of a working installation and contrary to the direct product of a HAS and HCO. When the real HAS returned, it was too late to do much about it all except offer me more money to stay. I said “no.”
Yeah — that wasn’t the only destabilization that occurred. Being sent to the Hole didnt do much for anyone’s stability on post either! In truth, from around 2000 there was absolutely nobody that was stable on any post in International Management. If they hadn’t been officially busted by Miscavige, they were designated as “T/A” and/or all their juniors were publicly informed by Miscavige (usually in front of them) that they were “CI” or “SP” or “DB” or a sex pervert or a criminal or thief or incompetent or all of the above…. I have written a number of posts about how Miscavige completely unmocked international management. ANd because he cannot manage anything himself (his specialty is micromanagement) his only solution to maintaining the facade that Scientology is expanding is to buy shit. Thus the “Ideal Org” program. No management required. Just buy MEST and convince everyone it is evidence of “expansion.” Funny, someone sent me a photo of the utterly rundown, empty Buffalo “IDeal Org” the other day. And for years, Miscavige pounded in the “Buffalo pattern” as the model of his management expertize in action, to be duplicated in every org in the world. Well, he got that part done — now he has empty buildings everywhere, and most cannot afford to maintain the palaces they are in, nor pay the utilities bills.
This despatch from him is a tiny microcosm of his “management” style. A dog’s breakfast is the model of order and sophistication by comparison.
It sucks to be Miscavige (unless you are John Allender, then it sucks even worse to be sucking Miscavige).

Mr. David Miscavige is illiterate. It is apparent here, apparent at his events (where words are used because they SOUND good and not because they mean anything, a classic sign of an illiterate trying to impress), and apparent in the “Basics” where the editing that I have seen is just a dumbing down of the text rather than a real job of uncovering what LRH “really meant.”
This is why real education is important. It is important to know the language, important to know what Scientology REALLY is, and important to understand the context of world in which we live. I never understood why some Scientologists refuse to read other sources, when Ron could never have developed the subject if he was just making the stuff up. People act like reading a viewpoint that differs from their own will pollute their thetan, or something. Jesus Christ! Part of confronting life is confronting those that are different, and granting beingness and getting in comm with them, and, God forbid, learning something!

This doesn’t mean David Miscavige is literate of course; if previous reports on this blog are correct he has difficulty stringing more than five words together to make sense verbally let alone producing meaningful prose. Nor does it mean the person recording them is barely literate, maybe they just did their best to faithfully reproduce his “utterances”, minus I suspect the erms, ahs and expletives.

Where were you when Mark Chambers, the course sup, was falling asleep in the KTL/LOC course room? Where were Lynda, Claudia & Christina, the tech terminals then when I tried to get ‘help’ for him? It was obvious he was not well, and I’ve learned since has dropped his body. Pathetic! As no one at St. Creek did anything to assist him. I know I went several times to Claudia & Christina & Lynda to no avail. Finally I wrote a KR (referencing KSW) and was called into ethics!
Then there was Paul Faccero, a reg, who high BP, and asked for my help to get it down, as he was not getting any tech offered at St. Creek and he too died.
Prior to that there was the then EO, Rene Chalepsky who had uterine cancer, she was given up by the staff at St. Creek and came to me for treatments (IV meds from Jim Keller, in Mexico). One day while on couse at the org, I ran into your wife Lynda and she said to me, “Rene’s going to die”. I was dumbfounded and turned to her and said, “not on my watch”! Mid-treatment Rene got pregnant, with Keller’s OK we continued treatment and she delivered a healthy boy. I hope she is well today.

I know this is a bit off topic(however relevant in the end), but the truth from my heart is that I am bursting with intent to share what LRH’s Dianetics and Scientology can do for people, i.e. what it did for me, If you would please bear with me, let me tell you:
Long time ago in 1970, after being at the receiving end of LRH’s training and processing as a Sea Org Member-I was never paying public), I came to the realization that I was a Static, an immortal being with a very long history behind me (and the same for every other human being on this planet). I realized that the Static’s basic qualities are: Compassion, Understating, Love, Wisdom, to name a few; and from there on my life was dedicated to serving the Human Race, to help spread the Tech of Scientology throughout the world and the Universe through the ages into as many lifetimes as necessary. To me, a grown man who had previously experienced the roughness that life can dish out to people, it was the answer. It was the ultimate solution to human suffering and aberration, the methods to liberate humans from the chains of ignorance, crime, insanity and war.
I remember the day when I was sent to do my SO training at the Excalibur (a Sea Org training ship in LA). Static or not I was terrified of the idea because I did not speak English and I didn’t know how I was going to get through the LRH Intro to the Sea Org tapes (5 I think). I remember having to repeat Tape One more than twice because I could’t understand LRH’s words and then, miraculously and suddenly on the the third try, I started to understand what the Old Man was saying! After that, it was all plain sailing, I finished my product 0 and walked away with a Cert that said I was a Power DPFer (Deck Project Force graduate) and it made mention that I had “broken the language barrier”). At that point I had even more certainty of who and what I was. I so I went on doing my best to help expand Scientology for the next 11 years, working as an Evaluator at the Flag Management Bu, having had yet another shot of LRH’s work, the magnificent Data Series Evaluators Course.
I guess what I am trying to say here is that considering what and who we are, David Miscavige’s insane, evil actions can ultimately do us no harm. From where I stand, he is IRRELEVANT and Auditors can carry on delivering the same LRH Tech that made me realize who and what I was. No problem there. His criminal acts against society should by all means be denounced and if possible he should be brought to justice but, outside of that, he is just one of the most seriously aberrated mo..f..ckers
who make life difficult for decent, honest people. Said with all the kindness I can muster right now.
And I am reminded of some piece of data that has lived with me for the past 30 years: “A problem that has no solution is not a problem”.

I think your idea regarding getting together a group of the “disconnected” is very good. As to what to do with that group, whether to bring a suit against Miscavige for breaking up their families, etc., or some other action:
Perhaps the key concept in these situations is:
– Asymmetrical Warfare –
It’s a fancy term, but simple: you only engage in symmetrical warfare when you have a clear upper hand. So, the U.S. brings tanks, bombs, etc. to Vietnam. The North Vietnamese commander, General Gap, a strategy genius (no matter his politics), does not respond symmetrically, that is, with tanks and bombs. He responds asymmetrically, with guerrilla forces, and defeats the greatest conventional military power on the planet.
Said another way, you don’t play the other guy’s game, unless you are way better at it than him.
So, in the situation you describe, what is the Miscavige Administration good at? Well, other than the colossal footnuke of suing Debbie Cook, they are pretty good at litigation, if only because litigation is, in good part, a game of money and they have lots of money.
In the civil rights movement, we had to face this situation many times – out gunned legally, by much wealthier forces, who often controlled the courts. So, we responded asymmetrically (and, when we did litigate, it was also asymmetrically, e.g. in courts that were not controlled by the oppressors).
The success of the civil rights movement was a direct result of extensive hatting and drilling, which matches what LRH says on the vital necessity of hatting. All they have to do is to just look around, just look around their neighborhood, their city, their state, their country, other countries. And just look at how they think they are helping to clear the planet. There are so many people and so many that do not care. John and Lynda just need to ask themselves honestly is the path of the current COS going to do this, clear the planet?
These two just need to ask themselves, it’s a stat thing, how much money they have spent in the DM run COS to get up the bridge? They need to ask themselves if they spent that amount of money and time, how will others get up the bridge, the wogs? Is it possible for others working a job to get up the bridge thereby giving us a cleared planet?

You see when you enter into the church after 1986, after reading dianetics and other books, one doesn’t know such things. It’s all ethical, so you assume, they are up bridge, so you assume. In fact all one knows is he got some auditing, had some wins and continued. And continued, and continued. And as long as one has wins, he continues (you can only be upbraided for no results). But as he continues and learns more about the tech, and continues, and he see’s some outpoints, but whatever no big deal. And he continues, and has some wins and wants to help as he reads and learns more, and wants to help his family and friends. But the pressure to help expand goes up and up, and he can be made wrong if he doesn’t help enough. And so he steels himself, because he is trying to help, but the money part is a lot. If only I get up the bridge, I can really help. So he continues. And he see’s more outpoints, afterall he learned about them. But the system is now set-up that you can communicate about them outpoints, but nothing really happens, so he thinks it’s no big deal and maybe I’m wrong.
And then one day, he seeks more truth. And maybe a friend communicates I think something is wrong. And communicates it is up to us who noticed something is wrong, that we should speak out. But the people that speak out, their communication never gets heard to many people, it’s all a secret. But somehow, it leaks out. And somehow more and more people realize something is wrong.
I am starting to agree Ronnie. For a long time I thought this was a qual cycle and if DM would leave things could be sorted out. But by whom, I ask myself now. Everyone up at Int available to move forward and take over, has already done everything they can do to keep Miscavige there , protect him, obey him, and support his efforts. Those kind of people are not worthy to take over seeing as how they have contributed to making the current scene and were not able to solve the problem or rise above it.
I am also awakening to the fact that Miscavige actually is just a bypassed case and not very intelligent. That makes him very ordinary. That the CMO has faithfully and doggedly protected him, obeyed him, and surrendered to him, is a reality adjustment. I have overestimated too many people in management. In the end, a small clique of uneducated, unexperienced, not too bright, little kids in aging bodies that did not have the scope, intelligence, experience, courage, know how, dedication or intelligence for the jobs they snatched. And I think that is just how Miscavige likes it.
Either way, the lot of us have taken a higher road and whatever is laying down there on the low road is becoming less and less wanted and needed
by society and Scientologists who really did make it.

Alex – Thank you for what you have done and are doing. I too came into the SO during this same time period. I believe most of those following this blog have total certainty on the basic truths to be found in the writings of LRH.
Another piece of data that I always keep in mind is that the solution to the why is always doable within the existing resources. Thus, the solution to DM is within the resources of the indie field, and steps along this activity are occurring daily. I am as certain of the outcome at the end of this endeavor as I am that the sun shall rise again tomorrow morn.
The gift of the tech, its application, and the win’s that shall follow will be freed of the shackles that we temporarily perceive. Why, and how, do I know this with certainty? Because we are step by step forwarding a line of TRUTH, and the truth and honest data communicated adequately has no barrier. As the being is basically good, then we know that the truth to help them shall in the end be seen for just that.

When this whole basics with the books came about I just asked myself what problem Miscavige was trying to solve with this book drama.
I figured the copyrights had finally expired on the L.R.H. books and it was a solution to hang onto and control recopyright the tech. When people were ordered to burn their original books I grew very suspicious. What solution was that for?
Have the copyrights expired on the tech? Has the Scientology fallen into public domain? Does anybody know? Does anybody here have any data on this?

I agree. there is no way the church can be fixed from within. How can it be? There is nobody there who can fix it. Per DM’s plan, he got rid of true scientologists, and he has reversed scientology on anybody there. Unfortunately those people there are trapped. And there is no way to reach them, they have no communication from the outside world. And if they do, it is limited to what is be heard, and not what is to be evaluated by the individual, they are told what to think or not think. For a long time I thought this was a qual cycle and if DM would leave things could be sorted out. But by whom, I ask myself now. Everyone up at Int available to move forward and take over, has already done everything they can do to keep Miscavige there , protect him, obey him, and support his efforts. Those kind of people are not worthy to take over seeing as how they have contributed to making the current scene and were not able to solve the problem or rise above it.
There’s no denying that what you say is true. Another truth, is that the people with the right sort of stuff to stop the madman, were astutely spotted, marginalized, isolated, and frozen in place, so that he could beat each one of them down into submission. One by one, he neutralized them all, in order to protect himself.
What he didn’t count on, and the thing that will prove to be his greatest downfall, is that those he banished are the ones who Do Not Give Up. Whether by their own determinism, or his, most of them are now free of his domination and control, and are stridently pushing forward the actual goals of Scientology, beyond the reach of his interference.
It’s almost as though Miscavige shot them from cannons, to land in a thousand different places, where they could sprout and grow into new and flourishing organizations of their own. Ironically, he freed the most able and worthy members of the group to go forth and spread the word.
Think about it. Instead of utterly destroying these good people, as he intended, he ensured their infinite multiplication.
I just about laughed out loud when the first staff member suggested that I destroy my old books. I kept it in check, though, and simply declined the invitation to destroy my personal property.

They are not fun to read, as they require us to step into the mind of a suppressive lunatic (Miscavige’s) and look at the world through his eyes. This is not necessarily the most pleasant way to spend a Friday evening. But these Miscavige dispatches do repeatedly indicate and illustrate the “WHO”, who has been causing the religion of Scientology to stop expanding for 2 or three decades. These repeated examples are important, because it is far easier to FIGURE OUT facts like this than it is to CONFRONT them. Miscavige’s behavior and actions are just so evil that it is hard to believe that people stand for it.

Just to clarify: DM did not write that despatch. He doesn’t write anything. (And when he does it is almost utterly undecipherable. Occasionally he would make notes or edits to submissions of something like the WIS? book chapters or speeches or something and it would take a team of experts like ED Int and CO CMO Int who had been dealing with his handwriting for years to make the best stab–I am not kidding here, folks.) As I said, DM writes nothing. He dictates everything and his flunk–er, secretaries, type it up. I am sure that one day these will be inscribed on nickel plates and safely packed away in titanium capsules in a mountain hideaway.
I wish people could see just one transcript of a meeting with DM to get a sense of the quality of “communication” that emanates from the leader of the church. It is strictly Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. It is another way of how he keeps everyone in his environment slightly off balance all the time. Imagine that coming at you at maybe 200 words a minute (DM speaks very rapidly since there is no logic or grammar filter between his reactive mind and his mouth) in a meeting on something important to do with your post. I was on an SO post with Foster Tomkins for a few years in my Int experience.
We knew, in the 70’s and early 80’s, that there was going to be a global computer network connecting humanity. LRH had described it in some of his conversations with Foster and others about the subject of Computerization, as “theta on a wire”. It wasn’t just a ‘discovery’ of LRH and the SO mission, more an observation that computers would take over.
For there to be any stupidity in the Exec Strat on the subject of the Internet means only one thing: TOTAL SQUIRREL, SP DECLARE.
Yeah, it’s the same impression I get. I’d be surprised if he’s actually done KTL and equally shocked and disgusted if he hasn’t. It really beggars belief either way.

I have read the memo several times and am left shaking my head each time. The “translation” from Dave-speak that Marty wrote is funny, but also gives some background for non-Scientologists like me.
Miscavige’s style is completely the opposite of the way things work in successful large companies. This is clearly causally related to the “unprecedented
expansionshrinkage” with stats going “straightupdown and vertical.”I’m trained as a writer, so the first thing I am struck by is just how completely illiterate the text is. Even allowing for the fact that this is transcribed dictation, it’s not the thoughts of somebody who is capable of a complex intellectual argument. In my strategy consulting work, I have been in meetings with famous, accomplished CEOs and have usually been struck by how good they are at putting together a complex argument easily understood by their audience. When the audience can follow the argument, they can “duplicate” it quicker, and are more motivated to make it happen. None of that exists in the posting above.
In Miscavige-land, the fantasy world of Int Base, every word that Dave says is treated as brilliant, well-chosen and the gospel truth. People stuck word clearing each brain fart drive themselves crazy to try to figure out a way to understand something that is basically illiterate gibberish to begin with, and then try to find a way to engage in some form of cognitive dissonance to ignore the fact that the order may have contradicted a different brain fart from a few minutes or a few days prior. They can’t just forget what they already know.
There is no long-term strategy driving the organization, only reaction to the issue of the moment, so whatever random synapses are firing in Miscavige’s brain at that particular instant are not guaranteed to be consistent with anything that was a priority of the organization a minute, an hour, a day, or a year before.
In the real world, there are a lot of people on the headquarters staff whose job it is to make sure the company is protected from the random brain farts of the CEO, and to make sure that things the CEO says are in touch with what the rest of the company (and the rest of the world) believes. This is an important function for all big companies, and they work hard at it even if the CEO is educated, highly trained and good at his job; it’s even more important when the CEO is new or is perhaps not the sharpest knife in the drawer. CEO’s of really big companies know they live in a bubble and are appropriately fearful that this fact can lead them to say dumb stuff and make bad decisions. In other words, successful real-world CEOs are intensely aware of the possibility for unintended consequences for what they say and do and they take steps to prevent it.
So CEO’s of successsful companies have every word scrubbed before it goes out. The staff that does this is not doing “word clearing” ordered by Miscavige, which presumes the draft message is perfect and that they are idiots; they are checking to ensure that the CEO has done everything possible to make sure his message is clear and easily understood by everyone who reads it. The presumption is that the first, second or third draft of anything is hardly perfect, but needs to be improved. This includes making sure that it is checked against prior communications, and any changes to policy or positions are explained and clarified. In other words, they eliminate accidental “cross orders” and they “sell” the reasons for any changes for something that could be interpreted as a random cross order if people don’t know that there are reasons why some policy has to be changed.
And big companies have a strategy; they actually have lots of them. A big part of the CEO’s job is to make sure that all the top managers have bought into the strategy and are working to execute it. The CEO must not only be the gatekeeper for changes to the corporate strategy but must also ensure that everyone understands when and why the strategy is changing. It’s the exact opposite of the knee-jerk reaction to random brain farts that characterizes Int Base.
And finally, most really successful big company CEOs are at least somewhat able to hear bad news about mistakes they have made or that the company is making; their personal ego is less important than the overall success of the company, since what’s at stake is billions of dollars in sales and the jobs of tens of thousands of people. Few (read: zero) big company CEOs suppress bad news that threatens their ego by hitting or verbally humiliating their employees. CEO’s these days get fired for lots smaller transgressions. For example, Yahoo’s new CEO may end up having to resign not because he hit somebody but because he lied about his college major — he said he studied business and computer science but only actually majored in business. That’s a lot higher standard for accountability for telling the truth than Miscavige is held to.
So thanks for a post that encapsulates in a nutshell exactly why the corporate organization is going down the tubes.

Agreed with, except the trapped part. Nobody is trapped there. They want to be there. And those reasons are personal for all of them. This is what happens when society makes it a crime to run away from “home”. Thetans don’t really have “homes” except for their bodies when they want to get nice and comfy and stuck in one. The biggest crime in this universe to disappear. That makes all of us criminals eventually.
Probably the real reason he dropped out of high school (9th or 10th grade, wasn’t it?) was that he was doing poorly. It wouldn’t be at all surprising if he was failing core classes and was not on track to graduate at all. With his personality, he probably was a miserable student who couldn’t accept instruction or produce a product (know best) and argued with or undermined teachers and classrooms constantly. It would have been an easy justification to blame the school system and teachers rather than accept any responsibility. Joining the SO in a make-wrong would have been a perfect out.

In fact, if someone does disappear, you are supposed to file a missing person’s report with your local police. It happens at Int too if someone goes missing, HCO all over the place over 10 people sent to Texas to round up one fellow, musters several times a day in some Sea Orgs to make sure nobody has gone missing. I think this is the most aberrated dramatization in the Sea Org. If you leave, you are declared suppressive.
At Int they really have problem. If they leave they are suppressive, if they stay and support Miscavige they are suppressive. Because it’s not O.K. to walk away, drive away, or run away. You can call that a trap or you can call it an inability to know about conditions. Conditions is on the awareness side of the grade chart.

This guy Allender must be even more degraded than DM is. After all, he’s been to this blog, and has read some of the commentary here. He hasn’t got the excuse of not knowing about Miscavige’s crimes, so he is in fact, an accessory, and a willing accomplice to those crimes.
In my mind, that is the very picture of a person who doesn’t give a damn about the religion of Scientology, or its goals and purposes. Such a person is wholly un-invested in such lofty ideals, and is completely committed to the concepts of domination, control, and tyrannical power over others.

A radar flyer I talk to recently informed me that the pressure to Donate! has recently been ratcheted up on Los Angeles public. As soon as she told me that, I immediately got a mental image picture of Miscavige hurriedly stuffing suitcases full of money on his way out the back door.
She also tells me that he wasn’t at the L.A. May 9th event. Curious, eh?
Since the day I got to Scientology, I saw him as a useless thug.
You’re my kind of thetan. Wish I’d been able to spot Miscavige sooner. As a public person, I never knew enough about the guy to peg him one way or the other.
By the time he’d firmly established himself as Supreme Rulah, I was no longer obediently attending major events, and I didn’t read every word in the glossy mags, either. It took a while for me to make enough close observations of the guy to begin having my doubts.
Even then, there’s so much suppress on information and communication within the church, that it’s hard to trace effect back to true cause. I saw a lot of things I didn’t agree with, but there were just too many holes in the jigsaw puzzle for me to name Miscavige as the source.
It wasn’t until I gave myself permission to Look, that I finally put it all together. This very blog filled in most of those gaps for me. Kudos to Marty, and to everyone who’s contributed to that ongoing KR.

I got so confused when I first read Daves written drivel or as stated on this thread, dictated to some hapless typist that it took me over 24hrs for what he said to begin to filter through. When he said, quote:

He’s takling about us – the Independants, the old time outdated Hubbard Scios, “the others” – you know the self determined types, the uncontrollable rabble, etc etc. From his twisted perspective he sees anyone that knows what that pesky Hubbard what saying is prone to connect the dots with written text and the God forbid superior understanding that Dave has and take it all out of context.
Dave has had enough of being misunderstood, he tries so hard! He’s been forced to drastic measures and it’s not his fault, none of it is. Please, give him a break – you pick…

I mean they are trapped in their own considersations, their own thoughts. And I guess I mean they do not know there is not just the COS, but the freezone and the Indie’s. So how can they decide to leave or not leave. They think there is only one place for freedom. And they do not know the COS=CO$ under DM. Thus they are trapped but do not even know it..

Ah the problem is David Miscavige already believes he knows what the Key to Life really is and it’s not what it says in the books. The key to life is money and power and the pursuit of same is the way to happiness. If he’s unhappy he knows he doesn’t have enough money or power and so must do something to get more of both. He’s always unhappy, except when he’s around Tom Cruise, but he knows he’ll get there if he just keeps plugging away with the pursuit of money and power. He doesn’t have time for distractions like doing a key to life course.

Ok, I’ve heard back that Dave Petit, Senior C/S WUS, was the main speaker, and that the event was held in one of the rooms of the Universal City Hilton. Attendance was approximately 1,500 people. Reportedly, the event was light, and very uptone. High ARC, like events used to be. No mention of DM, and only one of RTC. No reports of crush regging afterwards.
LOL Christie — now I see that DM simply masters and applies some of the whole track “goals” — when I say masters and applies, I really mean dramatizes, of course.
In psychology there is the concept of the double bind, or catch-22. You are damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Put someone in a tough enough double bind and they are likely to crack.
There does seem to be something deep in the human psyche (in whatever language one wants to use, and whatever the origin) that both abhors a double bind and yet seem unable to escape a double bind.
One thing (among many) admirable about the Independent movement (IMHO) is a realization that the “must/must not” double binds of corporate leadership is the problem and that when one sees the source of the problem for what it is, one can finally step out of the double bind.
Headley’s book (a fine read) gives lots of examples of double binds and contradictory orders given by COB. Others have pointed out the same.
