L Ron Hubbard Centennial

While Scientology Inc is crassly utilizing the LRH Centennial as a worldwide crush reg fest, we are kicking off the LRH Centennial weekend with a special acknowledgement.  It is the announcment of the 2011 Birthday Game LRH Technology delivery winner.  But it is more than that.  It is an acknowledgment of two of the most valuable beings on the planet – as LRH defined the term “most valuable beings”.

Some may at first blush call this crowning presumptuous. So, I will provide some context first. I will start by referencing a stat analysis of the Orange County Church of Scientology performed by a long-time Sea Org vet and evaluator, our own Friend of Ron.  FoR obtained the stats from OC Org’s own Org mag. Most of you will recall that Orange County was the Ideal Org (as LRH defined such) of the eighties and nineties.  The perrenial Birthday Game winner before the game was cancelled by Scientology Inc.  The analysis of FoR is attached at the bottom of this posting.

I am announcing here that the HGC and Academy production of the Birthday Game winner 2011 completely eclipses the once proud and mighty Orange County org. Realize, I am sure that Ron’s Org, Helmut and Helen’s org and other Russian and European outfits produce several multiples of OC org, or any other Scientology Inc Org for that matter.  But, remember, the Birthday game is about degrees of EXPANSION.  And it is about expansion in the delivery of standard LRH tech.  So, don’t take offense you all – you are appreciated and acknowledged.  This is just my blog and reflects what I am informed and aware of.  So, anybody and everybody who is doing similar deeds, and maybe even at higher levels of quantity – please take this acknowledgement as an acknowledgement to you too. My game winner choice is constrained by those I am intimately aware of and have seen evidence of the expansion of the practice of Standard Tech; both in terms of numbers and breadth of the Bridge. On that score,  I can personally attest that the winners of the 2011 Birthday Game produce miracles, day in and day out.

My LRH Centennial Birthday Game award winners are:

Anita and Les Warren and their Life Improvement Center.  You can read about their production at the following link, http://www.lifeimp.com/

But, to get a better reality on their EXPANSION you should also check out the following link because Les and Anita have merged with LRH trained Class VIIIs Mary and Franklin Freeman,  http://community.freezone-tech.info/freeman/new-location/

These folks can now take a person addicted to drugs and take him or her all the way to OT.  I’ve seen them take at least one person from drug addiction to Clear already.

Again, this is really a personal acknowledgement.  The first people who contacted me when I put up a sloppy one page web page (which contained only the text from the welcome section of this blog) were Les and Anita.  Their moral support gave me some immediate stability from which I grew, by putting their ACT ONE in with me. They’ve kept it in ever since.  I see them do it with everyone who visits them. And if you really want to get down to brass tacks – it is ACT ONE that separates the Independents from the Church and from squirrels of any variety (church or otherwise):

“The auditor and pre-clear are a group. To function well a group must be cleared. The clearing of a group is not difficult. It requires but little time. The relationship of the auditor and pre-clear is not parity. The auditor lends himself to the group as the control center of the group until the pre-clear’s subcontrol center is established under his own control center’s command. The role of the auditor ceases at that moment.

The auditor necessarily owns the pre-clear. He owns the pre-clear on a lessening basis until the pre-clear owns himself. If the auditor wishes to successfully own, to the end of NOT owning the pre-clear, he must not use the pre-clear to the service of the auditor for this establishes and confirms the ownership and inhibits the pre-clear from owning himself.

THE FIRST ACT of the auditor concerns himself. He assesses the task rather than the pre-clear and assesses the matter within himself. He establishes whether or not he desires the pre-clear to become established under the pre-clear’s own center of control. To do this the auditor may find it necessary to straight-wire himself for the removal of any reason why he does not want this pre-clear to be owned by the pre-clear. He then postulates to himself what he wants to happen with this pre-clear and postulates as well that he can do this task with this pre-clear. He must feel these postulates solidly. If he cannot he must discover why he cannot. Thus the first session’s first minutes with the pre-clear are concerned with the auditor himself. He should take time out from the pre-clear until he himself is established in his task and then readdress the pre-clear. “

LRH ED 67 INT, 20 Dec 1969

HOW TO RAISE YOUR STATS

Here is a bit of advice that will help you raise stats

AUDITING

Auditing is for USE.

The service being supplied by your org is auditing even when you are training auditors – for if they are well trained good auditing is furnished to the area around them.

Staff members get auditing. They furnish auditing. Staff members get trained as auditors. By training other auditors well they furnish auditing.

The admin done is to furnish auditing and training auditors.

The ethics put in provides an environment in which auditing is possible and in which it can be taught.

All roads lead to auditing.

Stats depend on auditing being done and being taught.

People progress from left to right on the org board to be audited and trained in auditing.

You are raising your area little by little by auditing.

Auditing is something one does. It must be done.

THE HCO ES, the OES, the PES act to keep the org there and pass people through who are audited or being trained to audit..

An org is an auditing factory that also trains people to audit.

That is the basic way we will win the world – auditing.

……………

Auditors are valuable. An org is valuable if it audits and trains auditors. If an org is valuable it will get paid by the public to be there. But it is only valuable if it audits and trains auditors.

Ron

  1. This is a brilliant validation!

    Congrats Les and Anita!
Same with all others who are here to help.

And happy B-day to the old man.

  2. Dear Marty,

What a wonderful tribute to LRH to acknowledge two very stellar people – Anita and Les. Their wonderful retreat setting wherein people can achieve the success they dream of is inspiring. I’ve forwarded their website to several already.

AND Mary and Frankie — wow — I knew Mary slightly back in the day and had the pleasure of doing a few missions with Frankie — also back in the day.

So — this team up is quite a powerful one. The Freedman’s have been faithfully delivering in the FreeZone for years, I’m told.

But — the kudos must also go to you Marty. It took great courage to come forward with this blog. Knowing that you would become the PRIME SUSPECT and TARGET of dm Inc. That your own shortcomings from “back in the day” would be brought forward again and again.

That you would have to be a calming influence with those who came to you and on your blog when I’m sure you often felt like just … well … going fishing long term and turning your back on the whole thing.

That you would have to have a long range vision, not just a Thursday before two vision.

That you have worked to personally grow from the inside out which included it appears your own education – finding solace and answers in some ancient wisdom (ie Tao Te Ching, Art of War) as well as modern philosophers like my personal fav – Ken Wilber.

Thanks to you I have found long lost friends, am reminded of old friends (like Marshall) and have made a few new and dear friends. Which of course, I include you and Mosey, Mike and Christie.

May your visions be fulfilled, may we all appreciate each other and may this next year be one of personal healing and expansion for all.

    Love,
    Windhorse

  3. OC stats? Well, heck, it’s above zero! However, divided by the number of years it will take to clear the planet at that rate, it IS zero!

  4. Well done, Les and Anita and Mary and Frank! Not only are you getting stats, but those stats are from REAL, TRUE PRODUCTS–people audited, people actually helped. Much Love, Lynne

  5. Oh, and well done to everyone around the world actually applying the tech and getting products as above. Love to all of you!

  6. +1 Marty. Big time.

I met Les in person recently and have spoken to Anita. I knew Frankie from the Apollo and early Clearwater years. All of them care about the well-being of others before themselves and use the tech to accomplish real help. For that, they are true Friends of Ron.

As for Orange County — these QUARTERLY stats are a crying shame. ONE auditor training completion. TWO GRADES. And yet, in the now familiar, but always vomit-inducing tradition of the Vulture Culture, Orange County org is completely engrossed in raising more money to renovate the building they bought yeas ago in the worst section of the entire county — rather than getting people onto and up the Bridge.

That is NOT what LRH wanted on his Birthday.

Miscavige is a Traitor to L. Ron Hubbard. A devious one maybe, as he has convinced a lot of KoolAid drinkers with loud pronouncements about how he is the ONLLY true friend of LRH and has revised history that he was his trusted associate — but the truth is evident for anyone to see if they want to look. Miscavige is a traitor to all he pretends to stand for.

  8. Well done Les and Anita!!
Coming along in your footsteps, The Courseroom. John Aaron William’s project to train from the Comm Course up to Grad V. A healthy dose of the other half of the Bridge and the route up with Co-audits to boot.

Happy Birthday LRH. My enduring gratitude for the best damn time I’ve ever had 🙂

  9. martyrathbun09

WH, Thank you for that. There is more in store as far as acknowledging LRH – stay tuned.

  10. martyrathbun09

    +1

  11. The Dark Prince

You are very lucky people to have the tech in it’s completed form. I long since ceased to celebrate my own birthday. But happy birthday Ron.

  12. I salute all auditors that are dedicated to delivering standard LRH tech, wherever they are. Congratulations Anita and Les. I only hear good things about your services, and from all quarters of the independent field.

And, a very happy birthday to LRH. It will take me an entire lifetime to live the equal of what you lived in one week of your entire life of accomplishments. And it will be a struggle at that.

Thank you for showing us the path to knowing how to know.

    Centurion

P.S. And may I take this time to send my best wishes to the people of Japan in these trying times of natural disaster. I encourage all to donate to disaster relief organizations as soon as you can.

  13. Happy Birthday LRH (a day early).

Congratulations to Les and Anita. They have been producing and expanding even while under stress from OSA. But they continue delivering excellent products that the entire field are hearing about. They are paving the way for resurgence of REAl Scientology and are thus giants in the field.

FoR – that is an excellent quote. Back in the ’70’s orgs all over the US and Europe applied that reference and the orgs BOOMED. The orgs had benefited by the advent of codiefied Word Clearing Series, the Student Hat/ PRD and MCSC (Mini Course Supervisor Course), which all paved the way to duplication of LRH tech and the widespread making of auditors, C/Ses and supervisors. Hence the boom of the seventies. Staff were also trained as auditors and were audited so they understood the purpose of the org.

OC is a sorry sample of what is going on in the C of $. Opening training centers and making more auditors is the key.

This is good stuff to talk about on LRH’s centennial.

    ML Tom

  14. This is important information! Anita and Les Warren and their Life Improvement Center have gained two CLASS VIII Auditors!

This just might be two more than Scientology, Inc. has produced this year!

    The irony, the irony.

  15. martyrathbun09

TDP, Thanks. That is the most theta thing you’ve ever posted methinks.

  16. Watching Eyes

Congratulations Anita and Les. What you’re doing is so fantastic.

  17. Marty, your selection of Anita and Les is so justified! These two are miracle workers who deserve recognition, support and respect. From my own personal experience, I’ve watched them transform a nightmare of a scene into a miraculous victory. They did it with love, patience, kindness, persistence, application of the tech. Its the stuff you dream of and know is possible when left to apply the tech as it is to be applied – for the betterment of the person. No other agenda. As Anita reassured me once, “We love them through it.” These are good kindhearted caring people who deserve great expansion and success. Good luck guys. I am on Team Warren!

  18. Impartial English Girl

Although I am not a Scientologist, a happy birthday from me to the late Mr. Hubbard.

I wonder what DM would have become without Scientology or Mr. Hubbard…? Just wondering… perhaps he might have been even worse than he already is (as hard as that it to believe).

    Have a great weekend everyone,
    IEG xx

  19. Friend of Ron

    Tom,
I remember the days well. Everyone was into training, especially auditor training, co-auditing, student auditing — auditing, auditing. Staff were going up the Bridge. In fact back then the Class V staff contract provided that one would get training and auditing. Back then the lawn of Saint Hill Manor was packed with students from all over EU at lunch time. We never really had to check the New Public In stats as all we had to do is go up to the lawn at lunch and we would know whether Saint Hill was doing well or not.

  20. CONGRATULATIONS Anita and Les, and Mary and Frankie!!!!
AND Marty and Mike. Thank you so very much for standard application of LRH.
    LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Kat

    VWD!

  23. This is great. I met Anita and Les and Mary and Frank at their Independence/Freezone conference last year, and what a couple of theta couples! (And what a beautiful part of the country they live in and provide services.) I’m so glad that you are acknowledging them Marty. Thank you so much. This really blew charge for me.

  24. Happy birthday to LRH.

Huge congratulations to Les and Anita!

Wow, how the mighty have fallen under Miscavige’s micro mis-management. Orange County now a small and failing org? With not even one major auditing or training completion per week to show for its efforts? The stats laid out by FoR are by definition the stats of a small and failing org, an org that can’t deliver. And since what is actually delivered or completed IS a technical matter, this truly shows Miscavige’s Golden Age of Out-tech at work.

The majority of orgs under Miscavige were or became small and failing, 90% of them in fact, but some orgs, like OC, were still rolling along under their own steam, steam generated before Miscavige came to (ill gotten) power I might add. Now even those big orgs are wilting because they operate on his reverse tech and wrong whys. Witnessing the death of these orgs is a horrible sight. I know it’s a similar story in Birmingham, England.

  25. Wow! Incredible amounts of time, effort and money went into the push that got OC Org to Saint Hill size. I know, because I contributed some of all three, and now it’s been pissed away by the short guy’s Black Management. These quarterly stats would have been a slow week, back in the day.

Damn good thing Les and Anita, Marty and others are picking up the slack before LRH’s legacy becomes just a footnote in the history of civilization’s decline.

  26. Great times FoR. I can picture all those students on the SH lawn during lunch. Great image. Thanks for that.

The formula to rebuild this whole scene ont the outside is simple:
    1. Student hat (I’m putting in the PRD as a pre-req to academy training)
    2. Generous amounts of Word Clearing.
    3. Discounts on training.
    4. Promote Co-audits
    5. Make legions of auditors who understand auditing.
    6. Make C/Ses.

    ML Tom

  27. The Dark Prince

    Thankyou Marty

  28. Well deserved validation and appropriate in the context of LRH’s birthday.
All those delivering real help with the tech deserve to be most highly validated and regarded.

    Re: the stat analysis:
Last year I researched the various platforms available for promoting Indie Scientology delivery. By platforms I’m talking about computer and Internet.

Global real-time stats are but one of the things which could easily be viewed and updated from the web on this platform so anyone can see the activity and expansion anytime. Again, updated in real-time and automatically tabulated and graphed.

Any “techies” or web developers with an interest in this area can reach me through webmaster@…the domain my name links-to above. That will get to me.

  31. To me, Les and Anita are the epitome of those people who have picked up the theta line that LRH put into motion, and who are extending it into the future for the benefit of us all.

They were one of the first people to contact me 4 years ago after I was burned by the church. Their theta and support was very important to me in enabling me to get back on my feet. It was during my discussions with Anita, that I saw that it was possible to get back on purpose and start auditing again in the Independent Field.

But the quality of their ARC and support is not unique to me. They produce a steady stream of theta success stories. The pcs that I have sent there for training have all come back with glowing reports of the quality of their services and the safe space that they create there.

It’s people like Les, Anita, Frankie & Mary that are really putting something there that is vitally important for all of us; hope for the future.

  34. Anita and Les I am going to congratulate you on your disclaimer.

“Les and Anita Warren are independent pastoral counselors. They are not affiliated with any other group or church. Their services are pan-denominational. In their counseling, they often use pastoral counseling techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard. This in no way implies that they are affiliated with, controlled by, endorsed by, or in any way associated with any of the many Scientology organizations including but not limited to CSI, RTC, CST, OSA, ABLE or any other Life Improvement group authorized by these organizations. If you came here looking for an “official” Scientology group, please go to http://www.scientology.org.”

I was suprised though to see Marriage Hats on your booklist. A bit oldfashioned in its view on the roles of man and woman is it not ?

  35. I gotta share this one, in celebration of Les, Anita,Frankie, Mary, Trey, John Aaron, Tommy M, Marty, heck, all you wonderful beings. It’s from a 2nd ACC lecture, 8 Dec 53 and is a simple thing to do:
“”What would you think of complete wide-open communication lines in all direction? All right, now you as a preclear run this— complete wide-open communication lines—just get the concept of this.”

“And most of the people you give that to, if you were in a session, they’d say, “Urrururr. No, not for me! Hm-mm. Somebody else, but not me. This is probably a very noble theory, but I know it’s dangerous.”

“You see? He knows again. What does he know? He knows that he better be small and powerless. That’s what he knows when he says, “I know it’s dangerous to have wide-open communication lines in all directions.”

Try it. Just get the idea of wide-open comm lines in all directions. That’s quite a celebration of life. Apropos to the occasion methinks.

    🙂

  36. OC Org is downstat from even 2002, when the big auditor training that quarter was Claire Woodruff, a Class VIII, doing her Class 0-IV Auditor Certainty Course:

    http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/stats/orgs/oc_purpose/oc_purpose_362.html

I can’t find any earlier Purpose mags online, but thought I’d seen one before. Will hunt.

  37. Congratulations to Les and Anita and to ALL of the birthday game players. Thank you to all of you who remain true to LRH tech and refuse to squirrel (in and out of the church).
Marty there can be no better or more fitting tribute to LRH’s birthday than to follow his wishes and reinstitute the birthday game as it was meant to be played.
I have tears of happiness and laughter to wipe away the horrors of what DM has done to our religion.
Game on! This is what it’s all about!
    xxxxxxxxxx ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  38. Salute!

  39. Tony DePhillips

    Nice!!!

  40. What an outstanding, brillant post…thanks. To Anita and Les congratulations and thank you for what you do. To all of you who audit others, thank you and Ron…thanks for putting it all together! Together we all win with Standard Scientology applied.

  41. Thetans never quit!

Building a better bridge, and keeping the show on the road. I cannot think of a better way to salute LRH and respect his legacy! Excellent work Anita, Les, Franklin, and Mary!

  42. Tony DePhillips

First off I would like to ack Windhorses beautifully written sentiments.

I thank LRH for the beauty and benefits of the auditing tech when used as intended. That intention was to help people. I have recieved much benefit from the auditing tech.

Congratulations to Les and Anita. To be given the award from Marty really means something.

I would like to thank Marty for all he does to keep a safe space for all of us and for reaching out and helping others that have been injured by the corrupt black Scn. Inc.

I would also like to say that I once had a purpose to become an auditor. The idea of quietly helping others understand themselves better and to give the theta gift of peace of mind and spiritual power was strong in me. After being given loss after loss on the “Pro” metering course, given sec checking and FPRD until I was convinced (almost) that I was “bad”, making the delivery of the tech very dangerous through heavy ethics, seeing others get hammered for “out-tech” (when the cult specializes in it), the idea of becoming an auditor lost its lustre. Through some good auditing starting with Marty, I am now getting the desire back to become an auditot again. The peace that can be acheived with auditing is something that you have to experience if you haven’t.
My postulate is that there is a Renaissance of the auditing tech in the Indy field. I think LRH would like that.

  43. Yvonne Schick

Congratulations to Les and Anita for the work they are doing to help others improved the conditions in their lives. I love seeing good work acknowledged.

And congratulations to all of you who call yourselves independent Scientologists for what you are doing to keep the work of LRH available to the world.

    Much love, Yvonne

  44. Tony DePhillips

    Very theta Jim.
    You are a cool dude.

  45. martyrathbun09

Dude, you are a natural. An incredible and INTERESTED listener. That is probably why you were targetted for extinction on the auditor rolls. Don’t ever say never.

  46. martyrathbun09

Thanks, I got more up my sleave in terms of acknowledging LRH. The weekend has just begun.

  47. martyrathbun09

    methinks too.

  48. 🙂 Love that!

  49. Congratulations!
    Happy Birthday to LRH!

  50. Kathy Braceland

I broke out into a huge smile when I saw that picture of Ron. As I read on, my smile got bigger and bigger. Wow. How wonderful to know you’re all out there delivering standard tech Anita, Les, Mary and Franklin. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m still smiling….

  51. What a great way to begin LRH’s Birthday weekend! To honor all the auditors who understood true LRH and chose to practice that to help their fellow man really shows how much you get LRH!

I have never met Les or Anita but have followed them through the blog and their website. I had never read any of the success before and have to say, there are some really amzing products being achieved over there! As I was reading today’s blog, they were the first people who came to my mind! Awesome job guys! And to all of you auditors out there using these incredible tools to help others…THANK YOU!

Then for fun, I popped over to the Freeman’s site and was reading one of Mary’s articles. Boy, did that communicate! My space just opened right up…as did my interest!

Then back to this blog just in time to read Jim’s comment and reference about wide open comm lines and you know, darned if my space didn’t get even bigger!

What a great start to celebrate the coolest cat I’ve come to know. He sets such a great example of the largeness of being there is in all of us. Looking forward to the next installation!

  52. Wonderful really hard hitting post Marty. It sort of illustrates a point I’ve made from time to time elsewhere that the FZ is out producing COS.

Also nice to see you …. how to say this? Expanding your horizons.
No longer looking down your nose at the ” Freezone” . The distinction between the FZ and independents is just an arbitrary.

Also furthering your acknowledgement of Rons Orgs. In case you
didn’t know it Frank and Mary deliver the RO bridge, as well as NOTs. 🙂 Also Mary’s unique integrity program that has had such
    brilliant results.

Its worth noting that Pat and Ray Krenik, friends with Les, Anita,
Mary and Frankie, may possibly even exceed them in production.
Havn’t kept any stats but posted all of the aboves success stories for years.

Rons Orgs in Russia I believe may have centres that even exceed the efforts of the above.

There has just in the last few days been a new centre in Holland
They have a very experienced C/S who has done all the bridge.

I have loved the many successes of Les and Anita that I’ve posted.
Here is one which for me illustrates how well they grant beingness.
    Enjoy. 🙂

TECH outside COS: Lemon poppyseed muffins!

    Success Story 12/28/09
From a delightful 10 year old girl.
Her dad brought her here from back east. She spent 3 days here.

“I loved my auditing every second we had a session. I even loved the last 2 minutes of a session in a fiery sauna! 🙂 I really liked it when my auditor made me lemon poppyseed muffins and let me audit her! I know the things I learned will help me later on in life. I will miss her and her muffins and lots more stuff. (P.S. The sauna will make you burn up 1 second after you step in! :-))”

    Love it Jimbo!

“”What would you think of complete wide-open communication lines in all direction?……”
That is OIRIGNAL SCIENTOLOGY, pure LRH !!

Saw my daughter out jogging the other day, the one I brought up through thick (very thick) and very thin, who now disconnected from me. When she saw me she ran the other direction.
That is REVERSE SCIENTOLOGY, pure DM!!!

  54. PS Thanks to Cat daddy for cross posting to ESMB. 🙂

  55. Great to see products rolling in the indepedent field 🙂

Re Orange County: The unbelievable low completion stats are an indicator of other low stats. Staff pay being ridicolously low, little money for promotion, possibly trouble to get phone and electricity bills paid, and who knows when FSMs get their comission or how long it takes them to pay refunds. Not to mention low morale and pressure from seniors.

  56. I thought of you when I did.

  57. Thanks Santa 🙂
I pity those who must settle this weekend for their paltry Ideal Org Reg Fest Events – the ultimate insult to LRH.

  58. You forgot to thank RTC! 😉
My desire to be an auditor rehabilitated too.

I’m sorry – I just got home from work. I’m a west coaster so am on a later time line than a lot of you guys. Please go back to the previous post and see my response to your and other’s comments.

  60. To all the auditors here — the hundreds who post and hundreds who lurk — I applaud all of us who learned to ask, invite, listen and acknowledge. We all cared enough to learn to help, and help. And for LRH who had so much courage, thank you.

    Just Me

  61. Friend of Ron

    H.S.

I forgot to add to the analysis two upstats OC does have:

    # of Buildings owned: 2, but both are pretty much empty.
    # of dollars assessed in Property Tax: Affluence

Comparing that to the LRH days:
    # of Buildings owned per Org internationally: 1 at the most, but each was pretty much full.
    # of dollars assessed in Property Tax: Close to Non-E

    LRH then, dm now.

Let the STATS DO THE TALKING

  62. Scott Campbell

I second that motion, Marty. Trey is great!

  63. I wholeheartedly agree with your choice of Les and Anita Warren. I will always remember the warmth and kindness that shone from Les Warren’s eyes as he welcomed me to Vancouver Org way, way, way back when. It is such a pleasure to see him and his wife acknowledged, well and truly. Thank you to both of you for all your love, work and dedication!

  64. Scott Campbell

Congratulations and well done Les and Anita!

I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you some day. Perhaps at your wonderful center. Beautiful countryside.

And thanks for being there for Marty. We all owe you a debt of gratitude for that one.

    L, Scott

  65. Tony Dephillips

    Sad.

  66. Tony Dephillips

I’ll get you for that Sam.
    🙂

  67. Thanks so much for the theta ack, Marty. And thanks to everyone who contributed to that motion here.

I believe that LRH meant every word he said when he wrote the following:

WHAT DO I THINK OF AUDITORS?
Every now and again somebody tries to get me to say what I think of auditors.

They want me to become hypercritical, I guess, so as to match the asker’s tone. Well, I better make a public utterance after all this time.

I think of auditors in a rather intense way. As I know more auditors than anybody else and have a better basis for judgment, on this subject I can be for once an authority.

My opinion of auditors in general is fairly well known to several people.

I think of an auditor as a person with enough guts to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. This quality is rare and this quality is courageous in the extreme.

It is my opinion and knowledge that auditors are amongst the upper tenth of the upper twentieth of intelligent human beings. Their will to do, their motives, their ability to grasp and to use are superior to that of any other profession.

I think of an auditor as having INITIATIVE. He is able to grasp or make a mockup and put it into action.

Auditors survive better than other people.

If this world has any faintest chance of surviving it will be not because I write, but because auditors can and will think and do.

I think our auditors came from beings lately arrived on Earth who, seeing where it was going, decided to band together to send it elsewhere.

I consider all auditors my friends. I consider them that even when they squirrel. I believe they have a right to express themselves and their own opinions. I would not for a moment hamper their right to think. I think of auditors and Scientologists as the Free People.
Just as they consider one another their people, so I consider them my people.

I think their errors of the past, when they existed, came about because we are new and we are finding out and I don’t think any of their errors were intentional any more than mine were.

I can understand their own reactions because I can understand the counter-effort given them by society, and thus I don’t hold auditors guilty even when they fold up but simply assume we’d better make a better effort into the society to overcome or bypass the counter-effort.

I don’t expect auditors or Scientologists to instantly agree with or seize upon whatever I say. I would be offended if they did and would feel they weren’t a Free People. Since they are intelligent I expect them to think over what’s said, try it, and if it’s good for them, use it. That old auditors sooner or later come back to and use what I have discovered isn’t any testimony to our relationship at all, it’s only a testimony to my being right because I meant to be right in the first place.

I sorrow when I see somebody accomplishing less than he should because he thinks I wouldn’t approve of it. In organizations and out I count upon initiative and good judgment.

The most decent people I have ever known have been auditors. The best hearted people I know are auditors. They are so decent and good hearted I have to work and argue with them to make enough to keep mock-ups rolling well, a thing they are now beginning to do.

I am very proud of Scientologists. I think they’re bright, shiny beautiful people and I’m glad every one of them decided to get born again this time.

I think we’re a fine crew. I know we can make it. And I know that if it’s a better world in the future it will be because Scientologists are what they are, not what I made them.

Now in case there are any further inquiries or doubts on the matter, I assure you I have spoken on the subject and that I have spoken from the bottom of a very experienced heart.

Scientologists are the best people on each of the five continents and that’s all there is to it.

    Excerpt from P.A.B 79
    10 April 1956

    Happy Birthday, Ron.

    Les & Anita Warren

    We are auditing.

  68. Married to an ex-Sea Org

    question:
LRH seems to be smoking a cig in that blog picture. I always wondered that if he knew so much about everything, (there are halls built by the orgs dedicated to his 1000’s of apparent awards, medals, and resume points) and created a system to get off of drugs that included flushing the body with vitamins and hours of sauna to release trapped toxins, why in the world did he….. smoke? Why do SO many scientologists smoke for that matter? It is unhealthy, and, the tobacco industry is ruthlessly unethical.
    Thanks for your honest answer.
    Truly curious

  69. Eileen Clark

What an exactly perfect and precise launching of the LRH Centennial Indie-style. Thank you, Marty.

Les & Anita Warren have my complete admiration and respect. They are deserving of such recognition and acknowledgement as Marty and others have given. What they have created in their Life Improvement Center is what LRH described and envisioned in “What Do I Think of Auditors”.
Love and hugs to you both.

    Eileen

    Great News!!!

  71. Cindy Pinsonnault

What an absolutely fantastic way to end your comment: “We are auditing.”

There is nothing, nothing I can add that says more.

Congratulations. What a great gift – for Ron’s birthday and for all of us.

Thank you, Les and Anita; thank you, Marty.

  72. one of those who see

Trey, Thanks for your comments here. Always great when you write. Bravo to you too!

  73. Anita and Les,
A big smile and a VWD. You guys rock! You would make LRH proud and you are carrying on just as he would like.

To the sick OC org – in a 3 month period you only have 3 purif comps. I think Anita and Les beat an entire org. At that rate OC is only really starting 12 people a year onto the bridge. Sad, Sad.

The future is to the Independents – such as we see in the Idaho group. The 4 of you up there will outproduce what used to be a St Hill sized org. The reason is purpose and standard tech.

Anita, Les, Mary and Frankie – thank you for what you do!

  74. one of those who see

Thanks for this quote from LRH. Already read it to a friend over the phone!
Love that you went right into the application. “Try it….” Ha Ha Just like a Sup!
    Church: Not so into application.

  75. Congrats to Anita & Les …. very nice indeed.

Thanks for posting the stats of OC … man, I am amazed that these are quarterly stats. I remember the day when OC surpassed stats like that in a WEEK.

Congrats again … and, a big Happy Birthday to you Ron … the tech shall prevail.

And thanks to Marty, Mike & the rest of the crew for continuing to fight for what Ron envisioned.

Nothing will stop a group of caring pro-survival OTs such as this.

  76. one of those who see

Thanks you for posting “What I think of Auditors” Beautiful. Says it all. Show’s Ron’s heart.

  77. Tony,
My friend, I’ve trained lots of auditors. Lots and lots. Get in touch with me, we’ll get that metering sorted out in very short order. When you’re ready, I’m here.

  78. Barney Rubble

Excellent blog, esp. on the OC scene. Such a tragic story.

Happy Bday Ron, and thank you monitor (Marty) for keeping off the Anti LRH crap off this particular blog

  79. one of those who see

I am so happy to see Les and Warren, Mary and Frankie acknowleged! Congrats. For those of us newcomers ( out of the church more recently) it was so heartwarming to research on the internet and find out you are delivering.
I was telling a friend (who will have his computer up and running soon!) about Marty’s post today. He knew Mary Freeman back in the 80’s. When the trouble was happening she called him. He remembers what she said to this day. “I will not be invited to cognite out of my own reality into someone elses.” Mary Freeman 1983
To all Auditors and Supervisors everywhere – you are loved and appreciated. And that includes you too Sir.

  80. one of those who see

Oops sorry ! I wrote Les and Warren. I meant Anita and Les.

  81. Wow LDW. Thank you for that. It just totally brought tears to my eyes. That is the most fantastic ack any auditor could get. I feel renewed energy instead of that beat down hopeless and confused feeling I had when I quit auditing. Instead of being valuable, I got treated like a worthless piece of shit. But I was the only one in the area who could even make Clears…and did! I was the only one getting staff into session by hook or by crook. Yeah, I had issues to address with kids and such, but I was handling those in a way to stay in the chair and do what I did best – audit! I just feel like I was totally wasted, not valuable, not worth shit.
But that’s NOT what LRH said. And that’s NOT what anybody I EVER audited said or felt either.
(Kye and I finally connected, by the way!) Yay! I’m happy! An awesome Inde! Talking with her revitalized so much energy too. She experienced real auditing with a Class VIII who hadn’t done GAT- the same one I did most of my grades with! She experienced auditing after GAT with an incredible guy who is just screwed trying to apply the tech the way he’s learned it and it’s NOT going well. I feel sorry for him. I know in his heart he wants nothing more than to deliver the wins he knows are there, but he’s just NOT trained to do it…and won’t be as long as he’s in David Miscavige’s church. Sad. Wasted.
Talking to Kye reminded me of the absolutely incredible wins my PCs had on NED. I would get so blown out with their wins! I know they aren’t getting those anymore. UP and DOWN…suppression on the tech lines.
I’ve said it before and I stand by it today…if you’re not getting big wins, something is not right! I know this as a PC/PreOT and as an auditor.
Kye’s getting auditing by an Inde and she is again getting BIG wins like she’s supposed to. The dulled down “wins” in the CofM are not how it’s supposed to be – they’ve lowered the bar to gutter level. That just ain’t LRH!
    I’m really happy! 🙂

  82. Tony~It ain’t all or nothing! When I was on staff it was always all all all. Fine. My life was set up to do all all all all the time! Today, not so much. Today my all is redefined. I was taking a bit of a loss that I couldn’t blink like Jeanie and poof, all my wishes came true! BUT, you would not believe what I HAVE done in the past year! My stats now involve 3 great kids and a husband, 3 cats and 1 dog! Oh yeah, and a business I own.
Sooooo, I decided to quit the frantic now now now and do this in bite sized chunks instead of buckets!
    You can do this too.
Step one; retrieve my e-meter from my camp and take it out of the box. Done.
Step two; figure out how the hell to charge it. IP. 😉

  83. And Publius, that goes for YOU too! 🙂

  84. Thanks Jim, Great quote and process.

  85. I too want to acknowledge and thank Les and Anita.

When I left the church last March thinking I would have to continue my studies alone and would no longer be able to move up the Bridge, not knowing that Scn existed outside of the church, while looking at this blog and others for the data on the net, I ran across their website, which showed a theta and natural environment in which to recieve auditing, very like the postulates of an auditing retreat I’d envisioned back in 1980 when I started my Scn journey in earnest. Les and Anita welcomed me to the freezone, and invited me to the fz convention where I was very pleased to meet them, two of the most theta beings you may ever encounter, as well as Frankie and Mary and a large group of auditors and independents from all over the US and elsewhere.
I hope I can visit their new digs this year. just as theta and natural as the deer lake house I’m sure.

  86. “There’s societies in England that are having an awfully good time fighting the cigarette. They can’t do anything else so they fight cigarettes. And uh, they say uh, that the cigarette causes lung cancer. And they … you’ve been hearing something of this, I’m sure. Yeah, not smoking enough will cause lung cancer.

Not smoking enough will cause lung cancer.” – 6107C19, 1:09:40

  87. After all this time you may have to replace the NiCad cells as well, but I can recommend this route as a worthwhile exercise. I now have three, one each of Mk V, Mk VI and Mk VII.

The trick to repairing one is to have a roll of red tape handy, but never use it. 🙂

  88. Command Intention

Thanks to all who made this possible. And thanks to all who helped.

  89. Tony DePhillips

Yep, I believe in gradients. I actually touched my e-meter the other day…
    🙂
It’s not that bad. Just confusion blowing off.
I looked at the idea that an auditor is one who listens and computes. That’s cool. I like to listen and I like to compute. So I am an auditor to some degree right now. I just need ot find a place that I feel is safe and not dictatorial or too much like the “old place”. I want it to be fun. Maybe there are some out there, I just haven’t really been up to looking to hard yet. If somebody trains like this it would be great to promote it like that.
To be honest when I heard Tom say that the PRD was a pre-reque to Academy training it was a real turn off.

  90. VWD!!!!

    Anita and Les 🙂

    And also:

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY RON!!!!!!!

  91. ♥♥♥♥Marty, Jim Logan, Les and Anita, Frankie and Mary, Trey, ♥♥♥♥
    and all the others.
Absolutely High Fives and Bright Blessings !
    ♛♛♛♛♛ ☀☀☀☀☀

  92. Sorry to hear that.
The fastest way to get her back is exposing Davey smartly to as many people you can. She might yet be too hard to talk to but others, fed up with it, are listening. It’s your flows that count.

  93. Yea to Les and Anita. Also to Frankie and Mary. They were there to greet us when we had our forbidden cognition. I knew Les and Anita on the BC in LA and then again after in the indie zone. All very sweet people creating beauty every day. Keep on moving on up ever higher.

  94. Don’t try and find the OC stats from the 90’s when it was Saint Hill size; it’ll make the implosion look like ground zero. The big crash came with GAT and I’ve audited the first fallout of it at Flag.

I was stunned from what my pc’s told me during the sec checks (the meter was still working at that time) and I started writing KR’s. I was totally flabbergasted when the senior C/S of our HGC told me verbally to destroy those KR’s and make sure they never got send.

So I dutifully reported all to RTC (maybe Marty has seen it) and needless to say that those pc’s were taken away from me and I was taken out of the chair, send to ethics, ordered new courses, etc. I was sad that it’d cost me my Bridge but my integrity was a tad more important.

  95. Lovely post, congratulations!
A remarkable and timeless statement that holds true for the field, the only place where auditing takes place nowadays as well as for the Church, devoid of auditors.

  96. Does the Dutch centre already have a site?

  97. Happy birthday LRH. We are here as you intended to free beings and put ethics in on those like DM whose intention is opposite to yours.
Thanks Marty, Rons Org and all the independants for being there and for what you are doing.
    I love you all.

  98. Thanks Scott — very thoughtful of you and I appreciate your comment. Don’t know the lady you are referring to but hopefully she’ll read your comments and the following comments and maybe have a shift.

    Love,
    WH

  99. “When you’re ready, I’m here.”

God, I blew down on that!

This is how it’s supposed to be. People making self-determined choices to do Scientology. No force fed…you have to’s.

Just make yourself know, deliver the goods and people will reach.

  100. Married to an ex-Sea Org

Yes, I am aware of that lecture. And I also know that it sounds ludacris, to anyone with basic medical knowledge.
This claim from LRH that “not smoking enough will cause lung cancer” goes against the research and knowledge of medical professionals across the globe and contradicts both the FDA and Surgeon General.

  101. “To be honest when I heard Tom say that the PRD was a pre-reque to Academy training it was a real turn off.”

That’s because it was an arbitrary. I think a lot of us really do want to see the bridge put back the way LRH intended.

Certainly there are advantages to having the PRD first but it is not a requirement.

I love ya Tom, and you come out with some very astute posts at times but I am with Tony on this, no requirements.

Tony, while you are working through that charge on the e-meter…you can always do non-metered auditing. Auditing someone on SA lists, Book One or objectives can be just as mind blowing!

  102. What a nice celebration of LRH’s Centennial! Let the festivities continue … Hallelujah!!

  103. I am very interested in the PRD. When are the checksheets and word lists coming out?

  104. Trey…:-)

  105. Don’t forget communication in the theta universe. Reach out with your mind.

  106. Hey Les, brother, and Anita, girl;

This acknowledgement couldn’t have happened to a more deserving couple. I know lots are auditing, but your unswerving push to continue your Life Improvement Center and to create a Bridge that people outside the CoS confines can walk to their own personal freedom has always shone as a bright light of example. Kudos to you both. Hope to make it out there one day to revisit old times. Love to you both, Chris.

  107. Freedom Fighter

This is awesome!! I’ve never met Les or Anita, but I’m currently working with Mary and Franklin. The auditing and C/Sing are by far the best I’ve ever had and Mary’s application of the ethics tech is brilliant!! I can’t remember the last time I was this keyed-out!

What a contrast to the squirrel crap coming out of the “church” tkeyed-out. . .

  108. Married,
It’s even worse than that, the cigarettes I mean. Apparently, and this goes against so many, “medical professionals across the globe and contradicts both the FDA and Surgeon General”, he ate cheeseburgers too.

It’s almost as if he lived that life in wild abandon, not really in a state of worship for the temple of that body. It’s almost as if that body was ‘used’, even, well let’s admit it here and cut through all these lies, it was ABUSED!!!

It’s almost as if they were a dime a dozen, pick one up, throw it around, do a little jig, get down tonight. Like it was ‘fun’ or something. I mean look at that face. Just look at it. That’s, that’s, that’s – well it’s laughing!!!

OK, I’m off for a colonic and some wheatgerm/coffee up my arse. Make sure I don’t have any cheeseburgers and pack it all up again. Damn, there’s a lot to remember.

  109. FoR,
    so true!

One day this suppressive disconnection s**t will blow up like an overpressured steam boiler-directly in DM´s face!

  110. Yvonne Schick

Don’t assume those 3 purifs at OC were NEW public. All 3 could have been reruns.

  111. Karen B,
I’m a raving, enthusiastic, totally ‘Oh my freakin’ GOD!’ advocate of the incredible, indescribable till you done it, Primary Rundown.

I was talking to a fella the other day, he’s a lawyer type guy, and he relayed to me the story of him getting into Scn. He was in law school, C average, and going down, about to be ‘let go’ from the course. He got DMSMH, got on lines and at that time, the PRD was in action. He took the months off to do it. Returned to law school, finished the last two years in one, and graduated in the top percentiles of his class. He’s gone on to successfully argue some thousands of cases. Nailed it he did.

There is nothing like full conceptual understanding, where that understanding translates directly to the ability to do, that comes from a PRD.

Nothing like it. Frankly, and honestly, the ability is one of the most important things I’ve gained and is of prime value in knowing HOW to know.

    My personal experience.

  112. “That’s because it was an arbitrary. I think a lot of us really do want to see the bridge put back the way LRH intended.

Certainly there are advantages to having the PRD first but it is not a requirement.”

Not saying anything, you know, but just saying that at the time Ron wrote this HCOB, that he did state that the PRD was mandatory to training. It may have been revised later (see HCOB Fast Flow Training below) and again with the advent of M1WC, but I believe this requirement was later removed in entirety and with malice aforethought by the CoS. The PRD should well have remained a pre-req to major training, IMO. Chris

“To all but those in the No Interference Area THE PRIMARY RUNDOWN IS THE REQUIRED FIRST STEP TO ALL STUDY.

When on or after OT III, such persons must now do the Primary Rundown before any continuance of study. It now becomes Mandatory.

The Primary Rundown is the open door to brilliance.

Super-Literacy is a new state for Man, existing in the past only in a few,
accidentally, who became the geniuses and great names of the race.” LRH

HCOB 4 April 72, Primary Rundown (Revised)

And from HCOB 13 Aug 72 R, Flast Flow Training:

    “PREREQUISITES
Primary Rundown or Primary Correction Rundown are required for Levels O to I V or above and for FEBC. They are not required for HSDC or the many other courses below these levels.

    NON PRDs

Those students who have not had a Primary Rundown or Primary Correction Rundown must starrate, clay demo, twin and go through the materials as many times as required, using the entirety of the Student Hat.
It is much faster to do the PRD or PCRD first.”

  113. theo Sismanides

Marty, now, I mean NOW, you are talking! It may sound egotistical but I don’t care anymore!

Now you are talking. Getting INTO the Admin Thing. The Org Board thing, the BIGGER game.

I never knew Les and Anita!!! Wow!! So, to all our forces, the Ron’s Org (Max Hauri and others) and all of our people who can OUTPRODUCE the CofS.

Now that was brilliant Marty! I am waiting to see what’s up in your sleeves.

  114. Yvonne Schick

    Love, love, love this quote.

  115. Floating Needle

    Definitely my choice as well! I have received auditing from Les and it was absolutely incredible. Here’s what Les told me before I started;

Pay ONLY if you feel you gained something from the auditing!
(Plus the auditing was about 60% cheaper and I didn’t have to buy blocks of intensives to handle something).

My hesitancy completed vanished after that statement. Not only did I pay him when he was finished, I brought some of my friends to see him as well.

This was back in Tampa before they had moved. Even back then, he had more people in and out of his house than Tampa org and their “Improvement Centers” combined.

Congrats Les and Anita, you are the creme de’ la creme of auditors, both inside and out!

  116. Married to an ex-Sea Org

I am not talking about cheeseburgers, I am talking about cigarette smoke, Jim. I understand that you want to sway this conversation away from what it is really about with wit and sarcasm, but the truth exists – he isnt eating a cheeseburger in countless photographs, he is smoking.
Furhermore, LRH’s coroner and toxicology report do not bode well. It was filled with drugs and abuse. No amount of sarcasm on your part will make that go away.
Do you subscribe to the Miscavige school of not looking or accepting what is the truth on the other side of things? Not good.
And the abuse that LRH did to his body, is only the tip of the iceberg, from what I can see, and hear, and tell, and research.
Don’t run from the truth. Confront it, if you can.

  117. Les and Anita,

congratulations! And thank you for posting this beautiful reference.

I thought of it and HOW LRH THINKS OF THE AUDITORS a lot when reading stories from them and of the respectless and suppressive treatment this capable and valuable beings get from the CoS.

  118. Tony DePhillips

    Karen,
Can you make it here this week?? If you can get here before thursday at 2:00 we can set yu up with a real good twin. We don’t have any time to waste. The planet is in shambles. Oh by the way, do you have your basics??

  119. Tony DePhillips

That’s great for those who want to do it.
I don’t think it is necessary to make auditors though IMHO.

  120. Tony DePhillips

    Jim,
It might be good to survey the public and see what is needed and wanted. A lot of the public were subjected to years and years of arbitraries. dm in his infinite wisdom always knew what we needed and wanted more than we did. He gave us STOPS!! TONS OF STOPS.

  121. Got it all Byron.

    ML Tom

  122. Chris and Jim,
Thank you for your input and also the reference on Fast Flow Training.

I think the point I was looking at was what was mentioned in the NON PRDs section of the reference, although I realize now that this was refering to those in the non-interference zone.

I’d also forgotten about going through the checksheet multiple times. That aspect alone would surely speed up one’s progress. I do agree that time invested in the PRD returns tenfold in study.

Although I never did the PRD, I noticed a night and day difference in my understanding after doing M-1 and KTL with the number of blow out cognitions comparable to an intensive of auditing. I can imagine well what study would be like after PRD and stand corrected on my comment about it being an arbitrary.

I guess when you look at the whole picture of how much checksheet time is saved after doing PRD and M1, it really does make sense to have it be a requirement.

  123. Married, I smoked for 45 years, had lung Xray a few weeks ago and my lungs were clear as a bell. My body likes to be run hard. It responds to that.

If smoking caused cancer, then smoking would be made against the law, no?

    ML Tom

  124. Unless I’m totally confused (which is possible), back in the day (that would be mid, early, late 1970s) we all did PRD pre-Academy levels. I don’t remember anything onerous about either the PRD or the Academy levels.

Is it possible the bad vibes some have associated with the PRD are due to the less than playful attitude one finds in Co$ classrooms these days and have for several decades? Why in hell does anything have to be that serious? Serious really sucks.

    Just Me

  125. plainoldthetan

Huh. Didn’t the PRD disappear in 1990 about when DM started pushing the Key to Life?

  126. Wow! I really like this…
The busiest, and at most times frantic with a zillon cycles all at once but always the most satisfying and proudest I have ever felt was making auditors.
The 80s was so much fun and went by so fast but everything starting changing, the lights dimmed and I ended up feeling like a hunted dog by the end of the 90s.
NOW the lights are starting to shine again . Hope is such a eternal thing but when it materialises – yippeeee, ain’t life grand?
Go the Warrens & everyone else whose middle name is ‘Standard’.

  127. Tony, Karen;

Turn off? Training auditors is not a hippie activity. Besides, I said I was going to make PRD prerequisite to acadamy training in my center. If it is a turn off, then fine – train elsewhere. But you guys are like criticising a gormet cook:

I have made 100+ kick as auditors in Detroit both as an acadamy sup and and Interne Sup. We used to deliver 800+ chair hours out of our HGC and routinely send 3-4 Grade 4’s to ASHO for Power per week.

I was CO ITO and I made 100’s of auditors there who did undergo grueling training, but they would not dare by-pass charge on someone and that’s because they were trained to be standard. Nothing wrong with gruling training if done correctly.

I also was the intern sup for Class VIIIs at AOLA and turned out about 15 really good VIIIs there.

I know what it takes to make a good auditor. This is my field of expertise. And what it takes is a firm understanding of LRH study tech – turn off or not.

One cannot moan about the bad auditing and C/Sing one recieved and all of the out tech one recieved and then tell everyone that making an auditor is a snap and give an “expert” opinion on this area if not trained. Cheaply trained and poorly auditors and C/Ses are what cause BPC in PCs and Pre-OTs. I believe this is what we are trying to handle? Ya?

    ML Tom

  128. Some people have fun pretending to be volcanoes.

  129. And some things sound ludicrous about medicine to anyone with basic Scientology knowledge.

What Ron said did not contradict the FDA or Surgeon General back in ’61. Further research since ’61 has shown the people who smoke (and get no auditing at all) are at a higher risk for lung cancer. I can’t recall any studies of people who smoke and also have had auditing. Can you?

There was an article in last weekend’s New York Times on how Psychiatrists no longer offer talk therapy, but just pull out the Rx pad and prescribe anti-depressants to 100% of their victi.. er, patients, because it pays more. That is ludicrous to me.

Now, I admit that Mr. David Miscavige’s reign has totally clouded up the results of the efficacy of Scientology. Rex Fowler’s incredible decline. Jeremy Perkins. Some people getting cancer and dying at young ages. So, we have allowed the usurper to do his thing, and also have been a bad steward of our own technology. I admit to that myself. I personally did not prevent the squirreling of Scientology in my own church.

So, we have a battle on our hands. We have a cretin using the name of our technology who is actively besmirching it and the man who pioneered it. And we have those that believe him and think that he is the embodiment and conduit of what Scientology really is – both in the church and in the anti-Scn crowd. This is hard to do. All I can do is use the tech and help others to do the same.

You know, when you take LRH in context, things are different. I would suggest to anyone out there who thinks LRH is mad, why not try a bit of an experiment? Why not collect all the crazy things LRH has said, and put them all together, and then acknowledge that he indeed said it. “Okay – LRH said not smoking enough causes cancer. Got it! Okay, LRH apparently said that the way to make money was to start a religion. Got it! Okay, LRH said that we are beings that were implanted between lives, and that we lived before, many, many times, even to times previous to the existence of this planet, and even universe. Got it!”

And then, if you really want to know about LRH and why people like me, educated, well read, and relatively successful, give any credence at all to Scientology and to this crackpot LRH, read the other stuff, too. And try it out. Don’t do what detractors accuse us of: Thought Blocking. “LRH is a crackpot madman. Therefore, everything he said and did was wrong.” “Scientologists are ‘sheeple’.” “Who could possibly believe X?”

We really can’t argue with sound bites. Anyone can take anything and make it ridiculous if they sound-bite it.

  130. TDP, The PRD is a pain in the ass. It’s just basic study tech on steroids. A lot of steroids. Hey, audit someone on Self Analysis lists. Those are a blast and a half. Cool wheel.

  131. Freedom Fighter

Looks like the last part of my comment got a bit garbled. That last bit at the end (“tkeyed-out”) shouldn’t be there. 🙂

  132. Tony Dephillips

    Hi Tom.
Back to the free market Scientology conversation.
Im glad you are and will make good auditors. I would not train under you. You have a militaristic attitude that I find to be a turn off. I may be a ” hippie” but I am a successful one.
    Long live the free market!!

  133. I don’t smoke, well the occasional sigar I must admit to that. But banning smoking from public places is for the benefit of Non-smokers who didn’t ask for second hand smoke.

  134. He wasn’t a Saint. There are alsoo Surgeans and Doctors who smoke. It’s trivial to atack somebody on that. (Smoking is pretty Adictive, All smokers are addicts LOL)

  135. Nicotine is a mind altering drug 😉

  136. “Furhermore, LRH’s coroner and toxicology report do not bode well. It was filled with drugs and abuse.”

Oh Married-to-Ex-SO, they (the coroner’s and toxicology reports) do not. He had a trace of an antihistimine in his body and no other drugs. And while his lungs were likely tarred beyond belief, he had reportedly quit smoking 5+ years prior.

I’m not “in favor” of smoking. I’m more “in favor” of giving people the freedom to decide what they wish to do, as long as it’s not hurting others. (And yes, I know that 2nd hand smoke can harm others.)

And regarding LRH’s quote above … those who know his personality from his lectures will almost certainly agree that he was likely half-joking and probably meant “being other-determined is harmful to your health”, i.e. being forced to do something against your own determinination “just to go along with the crowd” can ultimately be more physically harmful than the activity itself.

But then I don’t know how much LRH had studied with regard to smoking by 1961, but in general LRH’s view was that if something didn’t prevent case gain, then he had no interest in interfering with others’ freedom of choice regarding it. Including his own.

  137. This is an interesting subject for debate, IMO.

I have also wondered why so many Scientologists, including LRH, continued to smoke, even after the link between smoking and lung cancer became unmistakeably clear back in the 60s.

One bit of data: someone who worked with LRH told me that he quit smoking sometime in the years prior to his death. Don’t know if anyone can verify that.

The argument that makes the most sense to me is the one made by Logan, that LRH was not into worshipping the “temple of the body” as are so many new agers, ex-hippies, and associated secularists today.

The rage today is “avoid all possibility of physical risk or harm to the body no matter the cost”.

Secularist/leftists would love nothing better than to force all the rest of us to comply by law with federal dictates as to what we can and cannot put into our bodies. You’ve got cities in Northern Calif (where else?) banning Happy Meals for God’s sakes!

Having said all that, I believe those who knowingly choose to smoke, expose their bodies to excessive sunlight, consume fat calories in abundance, etc, ought to have the confront to acknowledge that they are just as at risk of cancer as anyone else, regardless of case level. At least admit that you’re doing it for sensation, pleasure, etc and that those things are more important to you than the risks associated with them.

It’s frankly embarrassing to hear someone argue that they can smoke like a chimney but somehow be immune from cancer risk because they’ve attained some case level. Now that’s crazy talk (IMO).

The body is a machine, nothing more. Garbage in, garbage out applies whether you’re wog or OT 8. Put watered down gasoline into a car and it won’t run, even if there’s an OT at the wheel. Stupidity would be pretending that one is somehow immune from physical risks just because one has achieved some state of awareness.

Having reached a high state spiritually certainly does improve the functioning of the body. Just see Dianetics for the why on that one. BUT it is also true that just because one has achieved a high spiritual state does not mean that one can then abuse the body with toxins and poisons and experience no repercussions. See Ethics for the why on that one.

  138. See my comment below under Chris Black. 🙂

  139. Possibly this below is not out of place on this thread.

    =================
Here is a collection of recent testimonials from The Life Improvement Center of Coeur d’Alene.

    ETHICS AND INTEGRITY PROGRAM

    3/1/11
What I have learned from the “Ethics and Integrity Program” so far?
I have learned that I have the ability to control my thoughts and emotions. I can do things to improve my situation in life. I personally need to take greater control over my life and develop goals that are my own.
I have realized that I have an enemy personality which I have used to deal with situations when I get overwhelmed. This is a problem because it has prevented me from overcoming barriers in my life. Now that I am aware of this I can “see it for what it is” and move forward.
I also don’t need to be perfect. I realize that when I feel this “enemy” start to take over in an area of my life, that I need to assert myself more in that area. MO

    2/3/2011

Wow! I am currently going through the Ethics and Integrity Progam at Les and Anita Warren’s Life Improvement Center . I have currently discovered that I am ME, the ME who can hold her position in space, who does not compromise her own integrity, and the ME who makes her own decisions and can evaluate for herself. I am also the ME who can love, be loved and can have compassion for others. I understand I am not those personalities that I have used in the past to avoid confronting life.

I feel I am a happy loving Being who can embrace life. What a great game! Thank you LRH for giving us the tech to operate as a spirit along with enjoying being human. Thank you to Anita Warren, my auditor, who has guided me to this win with lots and lots of love and a total willingness to listen and gently guide. Sincerely, LN

    2/11/2011

I haven’t even “officially” started your program yet. Just reaching for your program, a program outside the purview of the “Official Church” has proven therapeutic. First off, I realize I have been stuck in a “Doubt Condition” for years. As a result, I’ve been “stuck”–I couldn’t move forward. I felt afraid.
Now I a decision has been made. I feel empowered to belong to a new group of people determined to HELP me, not hurt me and pretend it is help. Suddenly, my world seems brighter. The black clouds have begun to lift. I cannot wait to see what this program (I will be doing with Mary) will bring. AWESOME! SF

    2/11

I truly feel better after doing this “Ethics and Integrity Program” with Mary. A clear mind and knowing where I am going is probably the biggest win. So far knowing that I am going the right direction, and that everything I choose to do will be for the greater good of all involved in all my domains. At Narconon we dealt with results and worked with things after the fact. Here we are working with my being “cause,” and that is where it all begins. Finding why you did something, not just fixing it after you’ve done it. This opens my eyes to a lot of things. Now I am just looking forward to leaning more and more. GRM

    2/17/11

I am me. I have realized I have a lot more control over my feeling, thoughts, emotions, and actions than I was previously letting myself have. I know that I like to feel free of these distractions and pains that have been holding me down. While free of the feelings and distractions I feel much more capable of finding things that are enjoyable and proactive. I also feel better able to overcome obstacles.

    BASIC COMMUNICATIONS COURSE

    2/11

I saw great improvement in my communication skills, and look forward to growing more with that. I learned not to let individuals push my buttons, and how to act when they try. I learned how to look at someone and confront them when they are trying to communicate with me. I learned how not to get tied up in the drama or comments others try to bring in when communicating. I look forward to applying these skills in my family, my relationships and my profession. LR

    2/11

I was asked what I got out of the Communication Course. At first, not much, but as we progressed through each step, everything started to come together. I learned how to confront issues and people. You don’t realize when you can’t confront something until it is right there in your face. Knowing I can do this, I know there isn’t anything that can’t be solved. At first I had a hard time “being there.” I laughed a lot, and through the course I got better, and I think I will be a better listener for it. I also learned how to deliver a message without bobbing my head or raising my eyebrows. RH

    ADVANCED COMMUNICATION COURSE

    2/8/11
I feel really good about finishing the Advanced Comm Course even though I did struggle with a few of the drills I had good wins and am ready to move on with the program. KD

    2/8/11
Today I finished the upper Advanced Comm Course! I feel confident in my ability to handle, guide, and control situations and people in my life. I am happy to have accomplished this and grateful for the assistance and support of those around me. MO

    PURIFICATION/BODY DETOX PROGRAM

    2/19/11
I felt lethargic and sad when I first arrived here at the Life Improvement Center some days ago. My attitude was negative, and I just didn’t feel like “me,” the “real me.” After completing the purification body detox, I feel excited about life again and recharged. My skin and nails look better and my overall outlook on life seems brighter. I’m so glad I did this. It has given me a new found hope and a new lease on life. I am now out of the “fog” that drugs and alcohol create. I am ready to take on life. Thank you for giving me a brighter future. FS

    DRUG RUNDOWN

    2/26/11
Some decisions in life are hard, some not so hard, and some easy. Coming here was an easy one that I am very glad I made. The things I did and learned were life changing. My eyes seem to have been opened from a squint to open wide. The relief that I feel is wonderful, and the weight off my back feels unbelievable. I know that there is still a lot to learn. But I know even though the trip is the rest of my life, the road I am on is the Right Road . I am learning to live, and living to learn. GRM

  140. You cracked me up, big time! Having a hard time getting the smile off my face.

You’ve got the program down perfect. I like your gradient too.

My meter is unfortunately is in storage halfway across the country (probably rather closer to where you are than to where I am) & I have been pondering how to retrieve it for some months now. I guess I’ll just have to buy that plane ticket & make the trip, pull it out of storage & see if it will still fire up!

  141. I did the KTL (Key to Life) course, which I guess is supposed to be today’s replacement for the PRD. It too was “study tech on steroids” but there was a nice gradient buildup for it. And the book “Small Common Words Defined” is simple and brilliant.

With that said, just *really getting* Study Tech and making it my own in high school … long before doing the KTL … turned my C average into an A and B average instantly. There’s simply nothing like studying for the purpose of learning and being able to apply. And knowing and using the barriers to study, imho, makes that possible.

If you were going to require the PRD, Tom, I would at least use “Small Common Words Defined” as the dictionary for the small words. And/or I would suggest being open to using KTL as an alternate to the PRD.

  142. Tony Dephillips

Part of my beef on the PRD is just the agony I have experienced with word clearing in the cult. It is an SP act to not use study tech. Blah, blah.
Ethics programs with lots of M-9s. Deadly serious. I don’t like serious. I don’t believe it has to be painful to learn how to audit. I don’t believe that a person needs to clear every word with all definitions to duplicate something. That is my truth and I’m sticking to it.

  143. The Dark Prince

I was not aware one could get decent cigarettes in this day and age.

  144. Hey Jim, I recall hearing a very similar story from “a lawyer type guy”!

This PRD – NO PRD discussion is real interesting.

I’m also a huge advocate of the PRD. I can’t remember if it was mandatory for long, but it sure was for some period of time. Anyone remember when the dreaded footpedals were in vogue?? That was grim. But once the word lists came out, it got a lot easier.

It was one of the coolest, most effective courses I ever did. In addition to the unmistakeable increases in conceptual ability, what I especially loved about it was that once completed, you could sign off everything on your future training checksheets, right? No more mandatory starrates, and NO MORE CLAY DEMOS if you felt you understood the concept behind it!!!

So there was a trade-off: sure, the PRD took some time. But once you had it under your belt, the rest of your training courses went a whole lot faster.

  145. I advise you to google on Images the toxiology report. You are buying into the Church propaganda line. I am not going to provide a link cuz I think that is inproper at this time.

  146. There is always simplicity. LRH was a man. He had opinions. He also discovered some techniques, that didn’t exist before, that were based on natural law that helped people. He pleaded with people to try out his techniques and if those techniques worked for them, to please use them.
It was also true that LRH like you and me was human. Like you and me he had flights of fancy and many wonderful dreams and ideas and some just plain silly ideas. This is always a problem for the not quite bright and recognizing this problem, if for no other reason than to protect his precious technology he tried to clarify for others how to avoid the loss of the pearl when eating an oyster or how to retain the baby when throwing out the bath water. In his wisdom he saw the simplicity which was that there are ideas and opinions that actually are on to something and have a basis in natural law that if you work with them a bit you can actually get them to do something that you desire. Edison had this bright idea and played with it to the point that after many trashcans full of broken bulbs got one to light up a dark room. All the thousands of not so bright ideas he had were eventually hauled away to the trash pile.
What LRH and many other smart people realized is that you have to differentiate between the light bulb that actually lights up the room and all the broken glass and wires that went to the dump! Brilliant!
Each of us along with LRH has thousands of opinions in a lifetime that are like broken wires and bulbs that don’t amount to much. I once, aged seven, had the opinion that I could fly and jumped out of a barn. When I woke up in the ambulance I had to check that one off as not one of my personal pearls!
To make this clear to his followers who loved his precious technology and had a tendency to treat everything he ever thought or said as precious technology LRH more or less said, PLEASE FOR GODS SAKE USE THE TECHNOLOGY THAT I PROVIDED, THAT YOU KNOW FOR SURE WORKS BECAUSE YOU HAVE TESTED IT YOURSELF AND HAVE CERTAINTY WORKS AND IS BASED ON NATURAL LAW BUT GIVE ME A BREAK, LET ME HAVE MY OPINIONS, BE AMUSED BY THEM, EVEN TEST A FEW AND IF THEY DON’T SEEM TO WORK FOR YOU, HAVE A CHUCKLE AND GRANT ME SOME BEINGNESS BY DIFFERENTIATING THEM FROM THAT WHICH WORKS. HONOR ME FOR THE PEARLS I ACTUALLY DID SAVE FROM THE OYSTER SHELLS AND FOR SURE GRANT ME A WINK AND A SMILE FOR ALL THE OTHER STUFF AND OPINIONS I AS A HUMAN HAVE A RIGHT TO HAVE.
    Love
    Gandiguy

  147. MTAXSO,

Who says smokings bad for you?

    Oh please!!!!

The FDA and the Sturgeon General.

The same guys who said Thalidomide was “safe and effective”.

    Yeah right.

    Based on what?

    Nazi technology.

See Procter’s book “The Nazi War Against Cancer”:

    http://www.forces.org/evidence/evid/nazi.htm

As far as I’m concerned these people who want a smoke free world are just dramatizing Fascists.

Tobacco has been used here in religiously, medicinally and recreationally here in the “New” World for at least 10,000 years before Columbus placed his lilly white foot near this Continent and “claimed” it for Spain.

It financed the War of Independence which had the direct result of creating the Constitution and the Bill of Rights which was to a large degree was signed by Tobacco Farmers.

(Funny how when Phillip Morris did a cavalcade for presenting the ‘Bill of Rights’ during its bicentennial the presentation of it was protested by a bunch of smoke free Nazis)

Also I see you are making hay on the fact that Ron said in a Question and Answer period that the possible reason for cancer was that people who smoke may not smoke enough which was based on his earlier research that Nicotinic Acid which is contained in tobacco smoke may begin to run the effects of radiation a key source of *cancer* out and that people who stop smoking may end up in the middle of an *unflat* process.

  148. Wish I knew how to make that devil emoticon for you!

  149. Good for you. I think outside the Cult it will be different.

  150. GH,

Really I think the main problem with Scientology these days (aside from the possibility of a deep dark conspiracy to control the subject and the evident fact that it is being “led” by a psychopath 🙂 ) is that there is this effort to make Scientology mainstream and acceptable.

    To who????

Over 50% of the American public “believe” in UFOs despite the best efforts of the Robertson and Condon Committees.

Over 50% believe in past lives.

Again a majority believe in the possibility of psychic phenomenon and the paranormal.

So my conclusion is that this effort to go “mainstream” or become “acceptable” is only directed to a minority who have been mentally stultified or “brain washed” if you will by institutions of “higher learning” who dismiss belief in such phenomena as “superstition”.

Or the elitists who ironically consider themselves the “intelligentsia” or in Scientology lingo “Opinion Leaders” who no one except the echo chambers of universities listen to anyway.

  151. “You are buying into the Church propaganda line.”

    I guess that’s always a possibliity.

But I’ve had a copy of the toxicology report, the coroner’s report, the death certificate and the sheriff’s report in my possession for some years. I’ve also done considerable research into the antihistamine “Vistaril” and a coroner’s use of the words “trace amount”.

My statement/belief above is based on a study of those.

What is your statement/belief based on?

I agree that it might be more appropriate to wait a few days before we delve into this further.

  152. By looking at the stats it would seem they have one P.C. in there moving up the bridge.

  153. I posted this in the wrong place. I am talking about the Orange County Org.

Quite a shock if you were in Orange County Org in better days. That Org was packed and with a lot of fabulous people too.

  154. Les and Anita

Les, I actually know you from your days in Vancouver, Canada. I have been watching your progress, delivering in the field, with interest. Very, very well done on your statistics and, more importantly, your products.

Well done to you, Les and Anita, and your whole team. Thank you for hanging in there and keeping the door to Standard Tech open and opening more all the time. You two rock!

I wish you every success in your expansion and continued “on Source” delivery.

    WW

  155. RJ, the effort to go mainstream is not just recent. Everyone wants to be accepted, and I believe the effort started in the ’70s (maybe earlier – I was a kid then). I HATED the Scn Cross and the collar and all that crap. Why do we need to act like some other religion?

On the other hand, we were really and truly banned from places like Australia and England in the late ’60s. And not for Miscavige-like activities, but for being us. The FDA raid, Nixon’s raid, these were real events prompted by what we do, not illegality. So, I can understand the desire to go mainstream back then – but, even then it was a mistake. All we ever need to do is just do Scientology auditing and train auditors, just as the Indies are doing. THIS will save the subject, not the perceptions of so-called opinion leaders or the so-called main stream.

  156. Karen B and Tony,
The PRD was a pre req for Acad levels, Briefing Course, OEC/FEBC, and even the OT Doctorate Course. The KTL followed Purification R/D as further undercuts. The PRD was to follow but has never been updated. Currently the PRD just died but there are HCOB’s never revised. The current Esto Series 1 requires PRD (Primary Correction R/D – PRD with required auditing steps) and this has never been changed. Of course nobody has a checksheet, but then, when did the current “church” state they are really following what LRH said to do.

The loss of study tech with no current KTL, no PRD and instead rote drilling for training losings a conceptual understanding. Dumb down the flock and it makes it easy to mislead and misdirect them. It may seem like a long runway but in the end your overall study is faster. You get conceptual understanding and no longer think with words.

It is a difference of night and day. When I started on the bridge it was a requirement to train on the levels. I understand with the word clearing the way it is today this may not seem like fun. It is fairly easy and your vocabulary is greatly increased.

In a standard courseroom, I would estimate, the time overall is about the same. I will agree that the KTL definitions book would help. If my memory is correct it isn’t just word clearing. After clearing all words on a individual tape one listened to the tape for words and then listened again for complete understanding. The same with all issues in the pack. The wins are phenomenal.

Having been in graduate school before and after PRD, there is NO comparison. I was a blubbering idiot before, even if I was considered smart by others. The study after PRD was simple and so much more effective.

  157. Oh Tony, I see you have had some bad experiences with word clearing, and I get it. I had to M9 all the materials on Level A and it was hell and I have to think that in Mr. Roboto’s world, an M9 must be a hellacious thing.

Let me say this: If you are being word cleared by someone who is stupid, you will have a HELL of a time. Not sure if that happened to you, but sounds like it did. The stupid person THINKS two things: 1. everyone is as stupid as they are, and 2. they don’t see the subtleties of the word you are clearing or is definition. So, they argue. The stupid person gets really, really serious.

I had an epiphany of sorts on the BC: There are a finite number of words in the English Language, and eventually you can know them and don’t need to have your head stuck in a dictionary all the time.

And I agree about “every word with all definitions.” But, the PRD is an incredible action. Not needed as a pre-requisite, though.

  158. Scott Campbell

Thank you for your kind consideration WH.

I’m sorry that I upset you. Eileen knows me and and was actually my senior for a time on the Ship Project Garrison Mission.

She did read the comments and we’re cool now.

    And so are we.

    L, Scott

  159. Married to an ex-Sea Org

“What Ron said did not contradict the FDA or Surgeon General back in ’61.”
So, if what was “available” in ’61 as it pertained to smoking was limited, then so was ALL of the other technology he did research on.
    IE – Scientology?

  160. Either that or they enjoy it too much to quite.

“It has always been my rule never to smoke when asleep, and never to refrain when awake.” ~Mark Twain

  161. martyrathbun09

Why don’t you read some LRH books and find out?

  162. Publius

I think the reason that many of us smoke is because there are so many people like you urging us to stop 😉

Also it has never been proven that there is a direct causal relationship between smoking and lung cancer.

I’ve known people who never smoked in their lives and were rabid anti smokers who’ve contracted it.

So a word of caution there as what you resist you may get.

    But aside from that.

There all kinds of consensual activities that others do that it seems meddling self righteous individuals or “do gooders” attempt to prohibit and fail.

    Can we say *prohibition*?

    Wow that worked out well.

    Didn’t it?

    Oh by the way.

I’m smoking a cigarette while typing this rebuttal.

  163. Dark Prince,

Do you live in a cave or something?

  164. GH,

I agree with much of what you say.

However having us auditors wear dog collars and all the crosses etc wasn’t so much about going mainstream or being accepted than presenting *evidence* to the knuckle heads in Government that we were indeed a Religion.

As in what their limited understanding of what a “religion” was.

By the way the second raid occurred under the Carter Administration not Nixon.

Sure Nixon hated the Church and Ron in particular for screwing up his chances of being elected back in 1960 but he other concerns like Daniel Ellsberg and those pesky antiwar protesters.

  165. Tony DePhillips

I like you more and more Grasshopper.
    Excellent duplication.
    🙂
    Tony

  166. Yvonne, I thought of that but, even giving them the benefit of the doubt, only 3 public really started onto the full bridge in 3 months – Sad.

  167. Your comment about dumbing down the flock really indicated! I really do get the value of doing the PRD

I first heard about KTL when it was a staff pilot in the early 80’s and I knew it was for me. I couldn’t wait to do it and was so disappointed when it suddenly dissapeared. Then it came out in its current form as a pilot for public at SFO in the late 80’s. I was so ruined in this area that I moved mountains to buy and get on the course. It really was the greatest action and the changes in me were outwardly noticed and commented on by others. Studying was phenomenal after doing this course!

The biggest drawback was how long it took, at least a year and a half. There were twinship problems throughout and by the time I had gotten close to the end my twin decided to go full time, which they allowed and I had no twin. After waiting a month to get a twin with no joy, I did a service alert and ended up getting completed by the staff.

I would be interested in whether or not the PRD is a twinned action? I feel that my responsibility as a student is fully in and I have no problems doing it but really want to avoid the problems that come up because of schedules and twins.

Dissecting Antismokers’ Brains, by Michael J. McFadden, paperback, 369 pp, $21.95, ISBN 0-9744979-0-8, Dover, Del., Aethna Press, 2003.

“A lie repeated often enough becomes the truth. ”

    –Joseph Goebbels, Nazi propagandist

“[L]ong-term risk from normal contact with others’ smoke is virtually nonexistent.”

    –Michael J. McFadden

About 35 years ago Americans were divided into two groups–“smokers” and “nonsmokers”–but the difference was not considered important. Smoking was often accepted and allowed even in college classrooms. Unfortunately, today there exists a state of war between these two supposedly hostile camps.

But the real problem, as author Michael J. McFadden shows, is between smokers and a third, very small but powerful group of activists, the Antismokers. This small group thrives on an endless ocean of money from cigarette taxes (smokers’ tax dollars) and the special “invisible tax” levied directly on smokers through the Master Settlement Agreement (MSA), a deal made between a coalition of states and Big Tobacco (more smokers’ tax dollars). The Wall Street Journal has described the MSA as a “legal extortion racket.”

  169. The nicotine does not cause cancer or heart disease and nicotine has actually proven beneficial.
The smoke is what kills ya. Breath in a camp fire daily for many years and see what happens.
I’m still addicted to nicotine but no longer smoking it. Amazing changes in health since I quit the fire/smoke inhalation. Of course.
I’m addicted to caffeine too. C’est la vie. 😉

  170. Publius~Where is it? Perhaps I could help you if it’s not too far away. In Louisiana?
Mine was brand spankin’ new three years ago. I even got a remote tone arm and trouble shooter kit with it.

  171. Right, everybody should do their study on the gradient that’s real and doable.

  172. Tony DePhillips

    Hi SA.
I do feel that the PRD has value.
Maybe it could be a good idea for new auditors or people newly into Scientology before training or for those intersted.
My feeling is that I have already done M-1 , student hat, and have been clearing words for YEARS.
I am sick of having stops thrown in my way to learn how to do something.
You don’t need to have the PRD to drive a car.
Non Scientologists learn how to do things without even basic study tech.
I do think that clearing words is important and I like false data stripping. I just don’t think that it is needed as a pre-requisite.
Is auditing so hard to learn that you need to be a perfect grammarian or have to clear every definition of every word before learning it?
All I am saying is that if people want to do the PRD great, do it. But if it is so vital to get audiors made and auditing then why add slows to the whole show?
When I did the academy levels in 1981 we didn’t have to do the PRD and I think they were still turning out some good auditors at that time.
How about actually getting people to audit? Like on level 0 after the theory get them to LISTEN to a pc and get some TA. Do that until they get it. Gradients, just like LRH said. Ipersonally think that there is too much theory and not enough doingness on training. Get people auditing, that is what I would like to see.
But.. I have always said that I will listen to the one who is getting the product. I would like to see who is turning out how many auditors and whether they get good results or not. That will be the ultimate test. Who is getting the product? Quantiy, quality, vialbility. That will be the expert, the one getting the result.

  173. Married to an ex-Sea Org

    Fair enough.

  174. Married to an ex-Sea Org

Say what? That was in the late 50’s wasnt it? “The same guys”?….well that sounds pretty A = A to me. Those aren’t the same guys now.

And yes, smoking is BAD for you, period, end of case. We also used to believe that the sun revolved around the Earth, and all kinds of stuff that is proven to be false “10,000 years before Columbus placed his lilly white foot near this Continent and “claimed” it for Spain”.

WE KNOW MORE NOW. Smoking is bad for you, period, end of story. Arguing THAT point is silly, uneducated, and quite dangerous.

  175. I’m speechless. (almost–heheh) Thank you, Marty, and others who have sent us these amazing kudos and kind words. We are not heroes–we are doing what we thought we were supposed to do! haha Feel free to email me anytime at: youtalkilisten@aol.com or go to our website and email me from there: http://www.lifeimp.com I love lots of comm lines! We are honored to be merging with Frankie and Mary Freeman, Class 8s trained by LRH.
    Mml, Anita

  176. Tony,
I fully understand. I think in 1981 and in the early 1970’s both time’s could turn out good auditors. And to audit – that is the real test. I know Les and I know Linda – both great people. And Jimbo also came in the PRD time period. When you and I meet, we will smile, and discuss this, weather or whatever we wish as Scientologist’s enjoying the ability to converse and exchange ideas.

Today, LRH’s birthday, and he would be proud that we are even discussing, arguing, or debating the training of auditors. That doesn’t occur in other areas of the world ya know. Make’s one very glad to be on this side of the fence. Now, Tony, let’s propose a toast to …..

  177. Married to an ex-Sea Org

I can solve that : ban smoking.

Group 1 – “smokers” – No smoke, no cancer.
Group 2 – “non smokers” – No smoke, no hostility.
Group 3 – “antismokers” – No smoke, no taxes.

    Boo Yah.

  178. Likewise, buddy. I’m in the Northwest – next time I come up to Seattle, I will look you up!

  179. Tony DePhillips

    Hey Grasshopper,
    E-mail me at a.dephillips@comcast.net.

  180. Karen B and Tony,
The PRD checksheet I did was from 1975. It was 2 weeks full time and 6 weeks part time. Checksheet stated “The product of this course is a student who KNOWS HOW TO STUDY, THINKS AND STUDIES IN CONCEPTS AND CAN APPLY WHAT HE STUDIES.”

Study tapes and student hat was word cleared Method 8, read or listened for words, then read or listened for “Sense” and then an M4 on the tape or bulletin. Some clay table demo’s and drills and then that was it.

I think so many have a loss in trying to study under the current “tech”. PRD 2 weeks, each level about 2 weeks. It really is not supposed to take long to make an auditor. TR’s and Emeter drills were on the checksheets. New public could do a comm course and then either HQS, Life Repair of something. Get onto learning study tech, learn to audit and co-audit. That is the way to clear masses of people.

After all the words are cleared future study is faster. Not only do you really know and understand the material but many words you have already cleared so do not show up later as MU’s.

I think I don’t need to go on about this. Whether or not someone uses this as a pre-req is a different issue but the value of what LRH gave us is incredible. It has been denied so many for so long. I think the drought is about over – I see rain in the future.

  181. Tony Dephillips

    Sounds good SA.
    You are rational and likeable.
    Salute!
    TD

  182. Married,

You must be a good friend of Carrie Nation?

  183. Actually people like *you*are “uneducated, and quite dangerous” precisely because they actually think they are educated when in fact they are misinformed.

An act of deception that has served fascist and proto-fascist states since time immemorial.

It was people like you increased the crime rate in America while saving it from drink and burned witches New England.

  184. Tara,

Never had a problem with smoking since here in LA taking a walk is the equivalent to smoking 5 packs of Marlboros.

Why would one more make a difference?

    😉

Actually nicotine in its purest form would kill you dead.

It’s the oxidization created by smoking it that produces nicotinic acid which is actually vitamin B3.

So most smokers aside from the tar and other by products produced by smoking a cigarette are actually getting their daily dose of niacin.

More than could be said for coffee which has no nutritive value at all and contains the drug caffeine which is closely related to benzedrine.

Of course this fact hasn’t convinced me to stop drinking coffee either.

  185. Thank you for posting this Marty!!
it is so beautiful to look at faces of people that have done so much good for others and in the forwarding of the Tech.
    Smiling… big hug and love

    Silvia Kusada

  186. RJ, just to be clear: I am not an anti-smoking Nazi or prohibitionist in any way, shape, or form!

Among other absurdities, I think the whole “second-hand smoke” thing is a hoax on the part of zealots to scare non-smokers so as to enlist them in their war against tobacco.

I do think smoking raises risks for things like lung cancer. I’ve seen two people very close to me die from lung cancer. Both were heavy smokers. Doesn’t mean every smoker will suffer such a fate by a long shot. You’re right – the relationship is not so much causal as statistical. But whatever, I’m a LOT more concerned about people – purists – who want to legislate or moralize us into doing what THEY think we should do.

I have zero desire to force my opinions on anyone else. I thought I made it clear in my comments how much disdain I have for food or smoking Nazi types. Sorry if I didn’t, especially since I think you’re one of the most thoughtful posters here & would not want you to misunderstand my position on this or any other issue.

  187. Publius,

Sorry if I tarred you with the brush as my favorite bette noir 😉

I guess I didn’t read your well thought out comment fully at the time.

Yes this whole second hand smoking debate is such a travesty of junk science.

Any thoughtful person smoker or non-smoker alike should ask themselves:

“How second hand smoke can be *more* harmful than first hand smoke?”

A ridiculously absurd conjecture when one considers the other free radicals (other than Julian Assange) toxins and other pollutants in our air already.

The *classic* in hypocrisy in my book is the rabid anti-smoker who drives his or her gas guzzling exhaust spewing SUV to the nearest anti-tobacco protest.

Here in the virtual “smoke free” San Fernando Valley you can barely see the international diagonal slash across the sign prohibiting smokers from even smoking out in the streets through all the smog.

It seems the smoke free Nazis have managed to out do Hitler in out lawing what he called “the red man’s curse”.

(He was only able to get it banned on public transportation and some eating establishments)

It seems the Carrie Nations of this Nation are ceaselessly trying to save us from ourself.

Unable to observe the dismal failure of prohibition they seem to continue more of the same expecting a different result.

    And despite their best efforts:

More young teens now smoke than at any time prior to their great anti-smoking jihad!

Actually at one time the number was going down when carding of teens was instituted in the late ’80’s.

Now thanks to exorbitant taxation and the rise of bootleg cigarettes kids are finding it easier to get the habit.

Not to mention the added benefit of giving the puritanical adults the ever popular finger.

    Like drugs.

The more they seek to outlaw it.

    The cooler it gets!

I mean who needs Joe Camel when the smoke free crowd have made smoking more hip than RJ Reynolds could possibly imagine by moving it under ground!

Well anyway Publius we agree on many things and I agree that just like alcohol or any other kind of drug that one should be made aware of the contraindications and then allow the individual to decide whether the benefits out weigh the detriments.

Like you I prefer Education over Legislation.

  188. RJ, it’s the tar and other byproducts causing the health issues is my point. I know what it’s like to be addicted to nicotine and only have smoking as a way to get it. There are other alternatives that give you nicotine without smoking, that’s all. I’ve succeeded with an alternate route. 😉
(You reminded me…1st trip to LA, my sinuses burned for 3 days!)

  189. RJ, you also reminded me that on that 1st trip to L.A. I was disgusted with how dirty everything was and decided L.A. needed a good Louisiana rain to clean everything up. L.A. had been in some kind of drought (something totally foreign to me) for a long time apparently. I just did a little rain dance and decided to bring some Louisiana rain over and it stormed big time and cleaned everything up for me. 🙂

  190. Actually I enjoy smoking and never considered myself quote addicted unquote.

    I agree with Rudyard Kipling:

“A woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a smoke.”

Also I prefer the arid desert weather of LA to the sticky humid fever swaps of Louisiana any day.

Actually when the Santa Annas blow the smog back out to the towards the Pacific or when we have a heat wave that burns it off LA is quite a pretty place.

We don’ need no stinkin’ rain.

Where else can you be a few miles from three different and distinct eco zones?

    You can keep Louisiana babe.

    I’m sticking to SoCal.

And to modify the old NRA slogan:

You can pry my cigarette from my cold dead fingers 🙂

  191. I’d probably want to confine any specifics to private email but could not find an email address on your blog. However, if you find yourself planning to be about 500 miles due west of the intersection of IH55 & IH10, let me know!

It is really nice of you to offer to help me get it. I’ll probably be there to retrieve it (and a lot of other stuff) fairly soon myself. The meter is buried so deep inside a 25×10 storage room that it’s going to require a King Tut type excavation to get at it.

Look forward to hearing about your training rehab wins & sharing some of my own.
