Miscavige’s “Streamlined” Grades

Miscavige talks in fits and starts as some of you all have caught on to. It is the oldest implant technique of them all.  It is covered, among other places, in Hubbard’s St Hill lecture Instant Reads Part One.  Basically, you bore someone to death with some monotony, then you slip in your hypnotic command, then carry on with the monotony.

We’ve broken down some Miscavige speeches on this blog in the past showing how he pulls this stunt at every event.  Well, here is a particularly nasty one he’s been laying in for several years now.

Over the past several years Miscavige keeps alluding to his having “cracked” the Grades and figured out how to “streamline” them like never before.  He never seems to get around to the big announcement and event release he keeps promising on that score.  Instead, he has in a nifty fashion gone ahead and implemented his “streamlined” grades over time.  But, another new release from Int (Miscavige’s words from the 2004 OT Ambassador secret briefing – read implant)  shows Miscavige laid this in on the field “Opinion Leaders” early on, clearly to condition the public in advance.   Miscavige talked to them of things he “can’t talk about in a public event, like money,…”

He let his captive audience know that his way to get people through Grades and New Era Dianetics in the time LRH recommended in Ron’s Journal From Clear to Eternity (Miscavige’s puts it at 150-200 hours) was to cross order Ron’s injunction that Objectives be done at Grade I of the grade chart, and instead send people into a course room with a single instructor to do up to, are you sitting down?, six hundred (600) hours of objective processing before they go near the Grades!  In this wise, the hundreds of hours of Objectives (which, again, LRH put on the Grades) get subtracted from the total hours on Grades.  Streamlining, indeed.

Too incredible to be believed?  Well, read his words below.  And now correlate that to the following facts:

a) Objectives co-audit is the biggest single service delivered at the Flag Service Organization in the year 2011.  Flag even promotes a TRs and Objectives accommodations package.  They need a package since those dumb enough to sign up will likely be on objectives for, well, 600 hours, which translates into months of accommodations.

b) in the year 2010 Flag and FSSO began programming OT VIIs and OT VIIIs wholesale for massive amounts of Objectives.

Without further ado, the king of squirrels, welding the doors onto and up the Bridge shut:

What is it, and now let’s get down to stuff I, words I can’t mention in a public event, like “money”, “economics”, “time”. There’s a certain point where you can hit the level where, you say, the guy, well it’s such an overwhelm, he’ll never make it.  And if you say it’s just nothing, then there’s no staff member in the world that could live on it, because he could never live if he could, if auditing was 5 cents an hour. It’s a problem okay.

Number one, the first answer to that question actually is these objectives. Because here is what it should be. Now mock this up. Guy comes in. He’s through his Purif. We really get him grooved into what an Objective is and we can run a co-audit on Objectives. That is going to be the completion of this long-term project. And specifically directed by LRH on when he was doing OT Levels. Because these guys are going to flounder all over on the Grades. Especially with Dianetics being moved later. That isn’t the bug. The Dianetics being moved later. You know, we often thought, well maybe it’s because this guy, Dianetics, he’s not getting this reality on the reactive mind. When he studies the book he gets it. But don’t forget. 1965 when the Grade Chart came out, look at it.  You won’t see Dianetics before the Grades. Do you see what I mean?

So it’s not. But here is one.  These Objectives that people were doing. And he wanted every single objective process since the dawn of time put together in the gradient approach. And now here’s the real deal.  I get this done. Some are heavy druggies, some aren’t. Some are bad off, some aren’t.  But mock this up. The guy signs up for the TRs and Objectives Co-audit, he’s got all of them. And I don’t care how long he’s in that course room under a co-audit. At the cost of a TRs and Objectives Co-audit.

And what do I want him to do?  200, 300, 400, you want to do 600 hours, go for it bud.  Go and go and go and go and go and go and go. For the guy who really doesn’t need 600 hours. He’s going to be done.  For the guy who does, go and go and go and go because his case, and you guys can get it, will be locking in.

And now we’re ready for the Grades.  So step one is that. And in terms of an org delivery, you take it down from the amount of auditing with one-on-one pc and what a guy is going to have to pay for per hour of auditing. You get it down to a co-audit sup who just knows objectives so cold, it isn’t funny.  What do you need in terms of resource?  In other words it is, it handles that economic factor in terms of the org’s delivery. And for the public making it up the Bridge.

I’ve got news for Miscavige and his minions. In addition to delivering another several hundred hours of auditing at all levels over the past couple years including dozens of Grades, I have audited two people from their first introductions to Scientology through all Grades and NED to Clear.  Both were done precisely as LRH finally advised in the Grades package he finally settled on as his best shot at the modern Grade Chart – including Objectives on Grade I.  And both Clears were right within the time expectancy prescribed by LRH in LRH ED From Clear to Eternity.

I’ve got more news.  Miscavige’s intentions and actions with respect to objectives has nothing to do with speeding anyone’s progress up the Bridge to Total Freedom. Quite the contrary, he is doing all in his power to weld the doors to application of Scientology shut.  He is mis-using Objectives to drive thetans’ anchor points right back into the physical universe for the purpose of making tractable, robotic, deployable cult members.

More evidence that the only place Scientology will be practiced and survive is outside the confines of David Miscavige’s implant factory.

Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave

Haydn James just wrote the following to me after he read  one of the books from the recommended reading section of this blog, A Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass,  an American Slave.  I’m posting Haydn’s communication to suggest other people read that book as well as consider reading some of the other books there too.

Marty,

I am sometimes slow on the uptake but I get there eventually. For  some years now you have recommended reading the account by Fredrick
Douglas of his life as a slave. To be honest, I thought: “Slavery is an abomination and shouldn’t be allowed, but that’s the long and the short of it so what’s to be gained by reading an account on the subject?”

Having just finished reading it I believe there is everything to be
gained.

There is no shift, mechanism, trick or means of domination used by
the slave master of old that isn’t used by David Miscavige. There
is no feeling, thought or emotion experienced by a slave that isn’t
felt by a Sea Org member, staff member or Scientologist under
Miscavige’s savage rule. There was no rationale, mind-set,
compromise or acceptance made by a slave that isn’t made by
Scientologists that are still trapped.

Some may say: “Sure but slaves were born to slavery whereas
Scientologists and Sea Org members volunteered for servitude.”
Well, I would say this: “In addition to the fact that I know of no
one that signed up for servitude, it was thrust upon them by
ambush, check out the accounts of children and youth that were born
into Scientology.”

I would much prefer to find differentiation rather than association
but between Mr. Douglas’ account of slavery and my experiences as a
Scientologist, staff and Sea Org member under Miscavige in the last
thirty years, as hard as I tried, I could only find association.

I have long sought the answer to the question of why do some shake
off Miscavige’s suppressive chains while others accept them,
reluctantly resolve to go along with the status quo and do nothing,
and some even go so far as to slavishly support their master? .

I finally found the answer in Mr. Douglas’ book — a very important
work.

Freedom is the senior datum, always was, always will be. Those left
in the “church” are enslaved because they have relegated freedom to
a junior level. They continue to make freedom less important than
the “Church” of Scientology and so are able to be enslaved by its
self appointed ruler. It’s an alteration of truth and natural law
that will persist until the matter is rectified. Until resolved
they will continue to feel all the sufferings that slaves of old
did.

Though it is 2011, I now consider myself an abolitionist. Slavery
is masquerading as religion and in a perverse twist of fate is
using a movement that had total freedom as its goal.

Total freedom is still the goal.

Haydn James

A couple of observations.  While Douglass writes of being a slave, more importantly the narrative recounts his metamorphosis from that beingness  into that of a free man.  I recommended the book because I believe there is no difference in the evolution he navigated and that which must be negotiated by anyone living with a slave-like mentality, whether that state was enforced from birth physically or mentally or was self imposed. Here is a man who was born into slavery but recognized he remained in that state first and foremost because he agreed to continue to do so on some level.  If Frederick Douglass could escape that prison mentally, then physically, then continue to work on his freedom and get there spiritually in the mid 1800s – all on his lonesome – then not a single one of us has any excuse to continue to walk about with shackled minds.  It is about removing the shackles of other-determinism and walking the walk of self-determinism.

Settin’ the Record Straight

Rachel Denk is a productive member of the independent community, having contributed finances, meters, books, lectures on CD, lectures on cassette tape, an LRH framed photo, friendship and advice, and lots of data. She comments on this blog as Hallelujah and TheWidowDenk. It is her sincere hope that – through her contributions – others are made aware of the gross misapplication of Source by Miscavige and his minions, and find the initiative and wherewithal to do something about it.  She has shared with me the facts surrounding the church’s treatment of legendary Scientologist, L Ron Hubbard’s personal doctor, and her husband Dr Gene Denk.

Dr. Denk was head of the Shaw Health Center. His many years of service to Hubbard, Sea Org and staff members, and public Scientologists created a large, loyal patient base. Chiropractor Stephen D. Price was Dr Gene Denk’s partner and, supposedly, his friend.

After Hubbard died and Miscavige anointed himself king, Stephen Price apparently began to value another “friend” more highly than Dr. Denk. Stephen became a personal pet of Miscavige, visiting him every weekend at the Int base since the eighties to the present.  Stephen gave Miscavige chiropractic services and special, lengthy massages.  He also regularly went out to play golf and go to the movies with Miscavige, and when at the Freewinds they would go scuba diving and to lavish dinners with one another.  Miscavige had Price hang around the base all weekend long (almost every weekend, and many times extending into the work week) for years waiting for whenever Miscavige needed or wanted Stephen’s magic fingers or a recreation break from his fellow Sea Org members whom he considered to a one to be riff raff.  For the last two decades Price has regularly accompanied Miscavige on his trips around the world, along with Miscavige’s entourage of hairdresser, stewards, and chefs.  Whenever Price happened to mention a personal problem with any org, Miscavige would be on it like white on rice, as if Tom Cruise himself had squealed like a stuck pig.

Price, no doubt, received an earful from Miscavige about Dr Denk.  Miscavige nattered heavily about Dr Denk.  Seems Dr Denk missed all manner of withholds while serving L Ron Hubbard in his final years of life, while Miscavige was calculatingly positioning himself to use Hubbard’s name and fame to rocket himself into a position of unquestioned power and wealth.

Dr Denk passed away on November 5, 2004 after a 10 month painful bout with cancer. Less than a month before his death, Stephen Price caused a “To Whom It May Concern” letter about Dr Denk and his wife to be delivered to the Denk household where home care was nearing the end-of-life stage. Rachel intercepted the letter before it reached Dr Denk’s eyes as it certainly wasn’t going to assist his spiritual or physical care.

SHAW MANAGEMENT CORPORATION

5336 Fountain Ave. Los Angeles CA. 90029

10/10/2004

To Whom It May Concern:

Shaw Management Corp., DBA Shaw Health Center, (SMC) is a corporation for the purpose of managing the administrative aspects of health care services to the general public. Gene Denk and Stephen Price are 50/50 share holders in the corporation.

SMC was located and operated out of the property 5336-38 Fountain Ave. Gene Denk and Stephen Price, as individuals, own the property at 5336-38 Fountain Ave. SMC leased the property from Gene Denk and Stephen Price.

The structure of SMC was that all gross earnings of Stephen D. Price and Gene Denk, as well as the independent contractor health care providers were to be paid to SMC. From those Gross earning, ½ were to be used to pay overhead, equipment, administrative and other financial obligations of SMC. The other half of the gross earning was distributed back to the health care providers, including Stephen Price and Gene Denk.

Gene was absent from SMC for two years (1984-86). During this time he made no contributions to SMC, notwithstanding he was earning money as a health care provider elsewhere. During this time Gene did not contribute any income to SMC. Consequently, Gene contributed nothing toward the overhead, equipment, administrative and other financial obligations of SMC.

While Gene was gone, and contributing nothing to SMC, Stephen continued his practice full time contributing his gross income to SMC. Out of that Gross income (approximately $500,000.00) SMC kept approximately $250,000.00 of that gross income to pay overhead, equipment, administrative and other financial obligations of SMC.

Between Gene and Stephen, Stephen was the sole income contributor to SMC. For 2 years Stephen was solely responsible for the administration of SMC with no help from Gene, reasonably valued at $500.00 per week for 104 weeks = $52,000.00.

Stephen has reason to believe that Gene received over $350,000 for his work elsewhere. (This is only an estimate, as all the exact data has been withheld from Stephen throughout the cycle.) All of Stephen’s and SMC financial data was passed to Gene through Rachel throughout the cycle. When Gene returned he used the money he made elsewhere, that should have passed through the corp., to loan to the corp.

In 1986 when Gene returned to his practice at SMC he loaned $100,000.00, to SMC. The check did not come from Gene, it was written by a church related organization to SMC. This caused Shaw to pay taxes on it as income and allowed Gene to avoid paying personal income tax on it. Accordingly Gene got a personal tax benefit at the expense of SMC.

To bring all things equal Stephen will need all his contributions of ½ his Gross income back from the corp. and his full pay for administrative work. Plus ½ of the total taxes paid on the $100,000.00 and Gene would get his full 61,000.00 from the loan.

The Truth of the matter is:

All debts and financial obligations undertaken by SMC are the sole responsibility of SMC and must be paid solely from SMC assets, if any. The Property at 5336-8 Fountain Ave. is not an asset of SMC.

The SMC corp. is no longer in business and is unable to:

  1. Pay Stephen for the administrative duties performed
  2. Return the $250,000 of Stephen’s own money contributed for 2 years.
  3. Refund the taxes paid for the 100,000.00
  4. Pay Gene back the balance of the loan to SMC.

SMC went out of business when Gene decided to form Optimum Wellness Medical Group and separate out chiropractic, massage and vitamins from Medical. Gene’s decision ended any chance we would have of collecting any monies from SMC.

Sincerely

Stephen D. Price

Secretary, Shaw Management Corp.

Twenty years after the fact, twenty years in which Stephen Price spent perhaps more time away from the office servicing David Miscavige than at the office, Stephen Price hounded Dr Denk on his death bed regarding money.   His basis of claim is that Dr Denk allegedly did not share his earnings from his service to L Ron Hubbard during the last 1 ½ years of his life.  1 ½  years in which Dr Denk had to leave his family, spend months at a time holed up in remote hotel rooms at the direction of Miscavige to be “on call”, cross state lines and start all over on a moment’s notice, and always be there to assist when Hubbard called on him.

Here is the punch line.  Rachel Denk, who helped handle Dr Denk’s finances and coordinated filing of his tax returns, never heard of the $350,000 that Price, twenty years after the fact, alleged existed.  Legal Director Author Services (ASI) Ryland Hawkins vouched for Price’s allegation claiming to have documentation of the payment.  (Note, I held the Legal Dir ASI post from its inception through a year beyond Hubbard’s death, and then subsequently worked for Miscavige for another seventeen years – and I can tell you such a representation/reg tag could not and would not happen absent being ordered by Miscavige directly.)

Shortly after challenging this nifty set up, Rachel Denk, who worked at ASI for many years on the Writers of the Future activity, was inexplicably and rapidly routed out of ASI, treated like a security threat.

Rachel never caved to this con.  After Gene’s death and after enduring an IAS reg assault to take out a home equity loan to donate to the IAS because “Miscavige has a really big situation,” Rachel was treated with increasing disrespect by the radical corporate Scientology corporations.

Recently, in order to clear the air on this saga, Rachel requested copies of the documentation that Hawkins claimed to possess about Dr Denk’s “secret” earnings.  Her written request has been ignored.

Rachel asked me to analyze the situation from my experience and substantial bullpen data on ASI and the Estate of L Ron Hubbard.   Having no access to records I can only speculate.  Overall, it sounds to me like a sick sociopathic game of David Miscavige; pimping Stephen Price to play David Miscavige to Gene’s L Ron Hubbard.  Enturbulating, lying, and cheating him to the grave.

Here is further opinion, with facts provided in order to support that view.

Pat Broeker, who coordinated Estate matters and finances during Hubbard’s last five years on the road and at the Creston ranch, and David Miscavige put the church’s tax exemption at serious risk in the eighties because they could not account for the millions of dollars of cash relayed by Miscavige to Broeker to keep Hubbard’s operation operating over the years.

After Hubbard’s death, while we were negotiating with the IRS for tax exemption of all church related entities, the IRS required a detailed accounting of Hubbard’s Estate as a starter.   Miscavige used the predicament in his inimitable Machiavellian way to scare Broeker away from asserting “church” leadership because of his alleged personal criminal liability surrounding 1.8 million dollars that Broeker had received but could not account for.  Miscavige assigned attorney Monique Yingling to supervise a several month project wherein Broeker was made to hole up at Creston and through “creative accounting” make the missing 1.8 million dollars magically re-appear.

I know that a tremendous amount of that “creative accounting” involved Broeker doctoring a pile of receipts he possessed to add defensible significances to them.  Beyond that I do not know how Broeker, Miscavige, Yingling and Norman F. Starkey (the nominal executor of the estate of L Ron Hubbard, working for de facto executor Miscavige) managed to pull it off. I do know for a fact they were 1.8 million short and somehow wound up after several months “accounting” for it.

Knowing all this, I offer a possible scenario, that — while speculation — is far more credible than Miscavige’s silence.  That is, the Miscavige team created a half dozen or so “big ticket” item expenses that were never in fact expended to cover the substantial shortfall.  They could have carefully monitored Denk’s and other possible imaginary recipients’ tax filings to create income that would never be noticed or questioned by the IRS, given the timing and status of Hubbard’s final returns and the final returns of the “recipients.”  Not undoable, given that Denk along with other potential recipients had their returns prepared by compliant, cooperating Scientologist tax preparers.

Caveat.  This is speculation and opinion.  But, I feel comfortable sharing my thoughts given these facts:

  1. I witnessed Starkey and Miscavige joking on numerous occasions about the ongoing “creative accounting” project of Broeker.  They thought themselves so clever by killing two birds with one stone: a) keeping Broeker off church management lines, and b) defrauding the Internal Revenue Service. I know for a fact they had to create 1.8 million dollars of “expenses” during the lifetime of Hubbard retroactively  – which they did to the satisfaction of a skeptical Internal Revenue Service.
  2. Rachel Denk – like the authorities investigating the death of Biggi Reichert, e.g. – was flat out stonewalled by Miscavige’s Author Services Inc (ASI) when seeking to investigate the mystery.
  3. There should no longer be a mystery as a great deal of information has now been made known to set the record straight. There is no possible reason for Miscavige to hide the ball unless of course disclosure would reveal fraud of the order of magnitude I have surmised here.

In short, the entire matter reeks of the skullduggery, fraud, deceit, cover up, vengefulness, and just plain nastiness that are the trademarks of David Miscavige.

If he has a better explanation, I am all ears.

Inner Core Meltdown in Miscavige’s Bunker

In the past year three, if not four, of Miscavige’s five closest aides have left not only his inner circle, not only the International Scientology Headquarters base, but also have left the Sea Organization.

Circa early 2011 Miscavige’s “org board”, if one could call his arbitrary chaos such, was manned as follows:

Chairman of the Board –  Miscavige

COB Hey You Enforcer (Jenny Linsen Devocht)

COB Project Ops/WDC for Idle Orgs (Angie Blankenship)

Int Landlord Building team   (I/C  Bob Wright,  2nd Laurance Barram)

Spokesman/Celeb Boy Friday, (Tommy  Davis)

For the past several years new buildings have been 90% of Miscavige’s and Int base’s focus.  That is why Blankenship, Wright and Barram were so cherished by Miscavige.

So important to and trusted by Miscavige were these building people, that beside his Communicator Laurisese Stuckenbrock, these five were the only people Miscavige communicated with daily consistently for any appreciable amount of time.   Realize, every one of the five are fourth stringers – but that is what he was down to in 2011.

So trusted was this handful of people that when John Brousseau escaped the Int base to my home in Texas in April 2010, Miscavige sent four of these five people in a private jet to recover him (Tommy Davis, Angie Blankenship,  Bob Wright and Laurance Barram).  As JB’s evidence unfolded on this blog for months, all four were driven into the ground by Miscavige for their epic failure of a mission.  Three of the four responded by going out 2D (sexual relations outside of marriage).

Angie Blankenship got pregnant by the step son of OT Ambassador (and IAS robot) Tony Falcaro, whom she finagled into a secret liaison while supervising heavy building extortion on public and outsourcing expensive building plans in Los Angeles.  Angie was routed out with her new beau and they were put up in Tony’s Santa Monica condo.

Bob Wright and Laurance went out 2D and were routed out into a comfortable little home just a few miles from the Flag Land Base in Clearwater Florida.  They have an over the top flood light system in the front yard and literally hid behind furniture like rats when a former Sea Org comrade paid a visit to see whether they could use a hand re-adjusting in the real world – then squealed to Miscavige for “help.”

Blankenship, Wright and Barram being of the weaker, out ethics stock that filled the vacuum around Miscavige when anybody who had any real life heavy lifting experience left (JB being the last of them) were all too anxious to be bought off with handsome “severance packages” for their continuing cooperation with Miscavige’s ongoing obstruction of justice.

All three witnessed Miscavige’s serial violence and human trafficking violations right up to this year.  Blankenship in fact was Miscavige’s number one enforcer during the early years of the Hole (prison and torture chamber at the International base). All three will never speak a word of it, because all three have been made materially comfortable for life by Miscavige. Miscavige has surrounded himself with out-ethics types who care for personal comfort and wealth above the rights and freedom of their fellows.  None of them know the first thing about what Scientology is nor do they have any familiarity with the gains it can deliver.

This is the level of ethics at the top  of the “church” of Scientology’s organizational structure.

Tommy Davis has been disappeared by Miscavige.  He is reportedly negotiating away his right to free speech and duty to report serial federal felonies in exchange for comfort and “protection” at this writing.

All Miscavige has left are two women whom he always had 2D designs on, his “Communicator” Laurisse Stuckenbrock and Jenny Linsen Devocht.   Both have been fashioned into back stabbing, cutthroat shrews by the hand of David Miscavige.  Jenny had a pscychotic break in the hole in 2004 after the treatment she got for nattering about Miscavige.  She has been an unquestioning attack dog for him since.  Once in 2010 when Jenny comm lagged on a Miscavige question Miscavige had Laurisse slap Jenny hard repeatedly across the face.  That is right, after Miscavige had 42 sworn declarations signed by Int base staff (including Jenny and Tommy Davis) swearing Miscavige had never visited violence upon a single soul, Miscavige ordered the woman (Jenny) who on national television told Anderson Cooper to his face that Miscavige had never initiated violence ever, be delivered a severe beating by Miscavige’s Communicator directly.

The Miscavige bunker walls are crumbling while Miscavige’s reach shrinks and he is reduced to obsessing over getting to people who know his crimes and buying them before they turn his sorry butt over to the authorities.

Meanwhile, the International headquarters of radical corporate Scientology  burns, figuratively.

As my earlier predictions of sociopath Miscavige’s self-implosion materialize, it is incumbent on us all to gear up to pick up the broken pieces, those thousands of gullible Scientologists who have remained under the dying dictator’s command.

The strategy is simple: Deliver, prepare to deliver more, then deliver more.

In my opinion, training is the key to the kingdom – as there is far too much grab-ass going on in the field being passed off as Scientology.

the sociopath next door

Over the past three decades David Miscavige has done his best to reverse the practice of Scientology. That is, the further one moves up the Bridge in the church of Scientology the more zealous, tractable, solid, narrow-minded, and in most cases miserable one becomes.  That is not to say that people cannot attain higher Grades and Levels of spiritual state and understanding. It means that those gains are manipulated by deceit and conditioning and stress toward molding a person into a conscienceless, deployable agent for an ill-intentioned cult leader.  Being the consummate covertly hostile suppressive person, Miscavige has managed to do so while stage managing a false identity to his public that he is L Ron Hubbard’s guy.

Miscavige is very well described in the Science of Survival and in PTS/SP technical bulletins, policy letters and lectures.  In fact, the reason why Miscavige could manage his complete reversal of the subject of Scientology with the willing help of thousands of staff members and thousands of once-well-heeled public Scientologists is all explained rather neatly in these Hubbard materials.

Becoming disaffected with the “church” and Miscavige, leaving one’s life works in the “church” behind,  some people have tended to leave behind some of what they learned too.  Most commonly, first and foremost they leave behind PTS/SP technology.  It makes sense.  After all, it is the technology that protects good people against people who intend harm to others.   And so many good people’s experience within the church proved to them that PTS/SP technology is faulty, does not work, or in many cases is the cause of their own travails.

Most people I have encountered who have left the church went through decompression periods of their own. That is, a length of time to destimulate (settle spiritually) from the collective, suppressive acts that finally prompted them to cut ties with the cult while trying to put those experiences into some kind of perspective against their new experiences in the outside world.  The lengths of those periods have varied from months to years to decades.

During my own decompression period I did not want to read or hear anything about Scientology.  That included reading Hubbard books or listening to his lectures.  While I never doubted any gains I had achieved and used my training in living life, delving back into the subject brought about depressing emotions with the recognition that the entity that “owned” the technology was for all intents and purposes destroying it.  I have found that many people shared that resistance during their decompressions.

But I never lost the love of reading and learning and devoured many books on other subjects that interested me at any given time.  Some of them helped immensely in giving perspective in evaluating my life, including my then twenty seven year experience in and with Scientology.  Some books validated and enhanced understandings I had attained from studying Hubbard. I have shared some of those books in the Recommended Reading section of this blog – see the subject bar on the home page of Moving On Up A Little Higher.

I am adding to that list a remarkable book that I just finished, The Sociopath Next Door by Martha Stout.  I am adding it because I think it might do quite a lot of good for a lot of people who left the church of Scientology.  Not only for those not wanting to review any Scientology material, but for anyone who has encountered David Miscavige or his minions dutifully carrying out his directives.

Stout is a clinical psychologist who specialized for twenty-five years in helping the victims of sociopaths.   The first half of her book shares her real life observations about sociopaths and the effects they have upon social personalities.  Her observations are remarkably parallel to Hubbard’s description of the Suppressive Person.   Note, modern accepted characteristics of the sociopath very closely align with Hubbard’s descriptions of the emotional tone level of Covert Hostility and of the Suppressive Person.  This is so much the case that I have taken to using the terms “suppressive person” and “sociopath” interchangeably.

But, Stout’s first and foremost marker for the sociopath is more complementary of Hubbard’s work than it is duplicative.  Per Stout, the sociopath first and foremost lacks conscience.  It is a very useful and workable observation she shares.

Stout’s second chapter, ice people: the sociopaths, provides an actual case history that, but for career choice and resulting milieu of operation, could serve as the biography of David Miscavige.

Later in the book Stout gives another common denominator of sociopaths that again insightfully adds to one’s arsenal against being ruined by one, the pity play:

The most reliable sign, the most universal behavior of unscrupulous people is not directed, as one might imagine, at our fearfulness. It is, perversely, an appeal to our sympathy.

If you have followed this blog for long, you will know that I have several times wrote of Miscavige’s unnatural ability to paint himself as a victim.  As Stout notes, when a true sociopath is about to get caught out, he or she can very convincingly garner sympathy to divert attention from self.   Miscavige’s ability on that score has become institutionalized.  Virtually all International Association of Scientologist promo and briefings over the past two decades are outright fraudulent, falsely painting pictures of persecution against the cult.  Another example, the folks who have used 24/7/365 surveillance on my wife and me, who have overtly harassed us for 180 odd days running, with straight faces convince a clueless magistrate they must arrest me to protect them.

Stout recognizes the potential for suppressive/sociopathic groups, particularly “religious” ones.  Her description of one “church” sounds hauntingly like what has become of the conscienceless radical corporate church of Scientology:

As an illustration, one can cite the Creativity Movement, a militantly anti-Semitic and anti-Christian group formerly known as the World Church of the Creator, which is a religion founded on the love of the “White Race” and the prescribed hatred of everyone else. Within this doctrine, everyone who is not “White” is by definition a member of one of the “mud races.”  The central moral precept of the Creativity Movement is expressed as follows: “What is good for the White Race is the highest virtue; what is bad for the White Race is the ultimate sin.”   Unsurprisingly, the long-term goal of the Creativity Movement is to organize the “White Race” to achieve world domination.

The conscienceless organization, justifying any means by its alleged assistance toward an end, committing any crime against another person without remorse as long as it can be rationalized as forwarding the group’s power.

Perhaps most importantly, Stout describes how good, intelligent people wind up doing the bidding of a sociopath.

Excerpt:

Why are conscience-bound human beings so blind? And why are they so hesitant to defend themselves, and the ideals and people they care about, from the minority of human beings who possess no conscience at all?  A large part of the answer has to do with the emotion and thought processes that occur in us when we are confronted with sociopathy.  We are afraid, and our sense of reality suffers.  We think we are imagining things, or exaggerating, or that we ourselves are somehow responsible for the sociopath’s behavior.

It goes deeper when it comes to an organization emphasizing the importance of hierarchy and authority. Along the way she gives probably the best sum up and analysis I have read of the Stanley Milgram experiments on how authority can trump conscience.

While the last 1/3 or so of Stout’s book meanders down a sometimes painful path of speculations about possible genetic sources for sociopathy, it still manages to impart useful observations.   It was useful for me in this respect, I was able to recognize that despite Stout’s wonderful contributions (and clearly unintended validation of Hubbard’s work) modern mental health practitioners, regardless of their evolutionary progress over the past four decades, are still shackled by their inability to perceive or unwillingness to credit the spirit or soul.

Just because one is out from under the influence of the cult run by the sociopath/suppressive person of all sociopaths/suppressive persons is no reason not to read this book and hopefully recount, and maybe even re-study your Science of Survival and PTS/SP pack.  Stout, as Hubbard did forty-five years ago, recognizes that our inability to properly identify sociopaths and prevent the havoc they wreak is one of the greatest threats to humankind.

Maurizio Serafini Declares Independence

I Maurizio Serafini, new OTV, Scientologist since 1983, ex SO member FSO, currently declared SP by the Church of D M (delict & mischief, degradations & misapplications) in violation of justice policies of LRH; hereby publicly declare my independence from the ‘church’.  The reason for this disconnection (the church has already disconnected me) is that finally I came to the conclusion that the church has reached the ‘point of no return’ in its departure from SOURCE.

I am now convinced that the church cannot recover on its own from the depth of degradation it has been pushed into by its ‘management’ (ie, D Misadvices and his clique of criminals) through arbitraries and alterations of tech and policy or suppressive use of them to better serve their evil purposes.

Personally I have no doubts on the technology or the philosophy as developed by L Ron Hubbard; thus I stress here that in no way whatever do I intend to disassociate from them.  On the contrary it is the very dedication to what I have studied for years and lived for years that forces me to publicly disassociate with those that have disavowed SOURCE to follow ‘the new prophet’

That their choices were due to stupidity or simply evil intentions is at this point irrelevant from my viewpoint.

In the same way I have no desire to disassociate in any way from those within the church that wish to recover their integrity and feel they have a duty towards the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics.

May you all flourish and prosper

Maurizio Serafini

More on Miscavige’s Confusion and Chaos

reference: my last blog post, Miscavige Cancels Hubbard’s Dictionary, at https://markrathbun.wordpress.com/2011/10/04/miscavige-cancels-hubbards-dictionary/

With inexorable promptitude (stolen phrase from a Hubbard Journal) Tony Ortega, editor in chief of the Village Voice, happened to run into an actor who was blown away (in a bad sense) by church of Scientology Celebrity Center International three years ago, post about it, and in the bargain verified in real time just about everything I wrote in the above referenced post this morning.   Take for example this passage from Ortega’s recounting of the story of Philip Boyd:

Another time, he encountered the word “enturbulation” in a Hubbard book. “I tried to look it up and realized it was something Hubbard invented,” he says. (Hubbard used it to mean agitation or disruption.) Boyd asked a supervisor about it and says he was told, “Hubbard was highly educated, and used words that weren’t on this planet.” Boyd says he found that pretty ridiculous.

Please read the rest of the story – and tell me was I lying when I wrote?:

His thinking apparently goes something like this, the longer the runway the more time to squeeze every last dime out of the rube before he learns enough Scientology to realize what they are doing to the poor sap.

Hubbard wasn’t joking when he urged we get busy and start building a better bridge.

Miscavige Cancels Hubbard’s Dictionary

L Ron Hubbard’s many spoken and recorded words that specified the vital necessity for a comprehensive Dictionary of Dianetics and Scientology have been burned and buried by David Miscavige.

L Ron Hubbard directed the compilation of the original red covered Dianetics and Scientology Dictionary.  He did not edit it nor did he approve the final edit.  Through use of it over the years he often wrote about the need for improvement.  Most particularly when Hubbard was developing the Key to Life course in the late seventies he wrote many despatches directing the compilation of a complete Dianetics and Scientology dictionary.

David Miscavige cross ordered all of that – just as he did the completion of LRH’s six month project to complete the Technical Training Films – until the mid nineties.  By that time Miscavige  had destroyed most tech veterans in the church and began a dictatorship on technical matters which continues to this day. He did that in the mid nineties around the time he announced the completion of the Tech films, after spending hundreds of millions of dollars making them cinematographically to his liking, and technically abhorrent.

Miscavige made a big deal at Int about Hubbard’s many non-complied with orders for the comprehensive Technical dictionary.  LRH Tech Compilations staff were commandeered off post to work exclusively on the dictionary project for the next ten years.  As has been Miscavige’s wont, every step forward resulted in two steps backward.  After a group of tech veterans would submit years of work, Miscavige would sit on it for up to a year.  When he’d finally get around to it, he would find some imagined outpoint, throw a tantrum, bust yet more technical veterans and brand all their work as “suppressive” and not to be used.  This cycle went on for literally a decade.

To add gasoline to the fire, Miscavige ordered that Bridge Publications stop producing and selling the existing Tech Dictionary in the late nineties because its  replacement was continually on his event release schedule, and continually rescheduled because of his decade of cross ordering his own orders to implement Hubbard’s orders on the dictionary.

While the original red covered Tech dictionary was flawed, it was a hell of a lot better than nothing.  And now those original dictionaries are so scarce they have become more valuable than precious stones due to Miscavige’s order to bury them.

Instead of following Hubbard’s advices concerning the improvement of a compiled book (the dictionary), after blowing off all veteran technical compilers, Miscavige embarked upon revising and re-compiling all of Hubbards written books which Hubbard never advised be tampered with.

Well, here we are another half decade since the decade of Miscavige sabotage described above ended, and there are still no tech dictionaries in sight.  Why?

A recently released (yeah, we get releases too – they are original documents detailing Miscavige’s crimes) transcript excerpt of David Miscavige’s 2005 private, confidential talk to OT Ambassadors at his annual Freewinds Maiden Voyage events tells us exactly WHY.  David Miscavige outright told the Ambassadors to their faces that he cancelled LRH’s strategy and plan, because the dictionary was just getting “too big.”  Of course he left out the part about it being a long term, oft repeated plan of L Ron Hubbard’s.   And like the Black Dianeticists that Hubbard warned could deny Scientology to the planet in the Philadelphia Doctorate Course lectures (oh yeah, see previous post where I demonstrated that Miscavige had that portion conveniently excised from those lectures) Miscavige with a few authoritative, blustering words excised Scientology history and LRH’s intentions for its future.

Here are the words of Miscavige spoken to the OT Ambassadors aboard the Freewinds in June 2005:

You might be wondering about the Dictionary.  Well what we decided to do finally is now that we’re going through every one of these lectures — and they’ll be done, they’ll be actually all on the shelf within months — every single definition you’ve ever found in a dictionary is in those lectures. So we put those glossaries together and it ended up being the way to finally do it and know that we’re right, because it’s a constantly building data base in chronological sequence.  So what we now have is that when we come out with the materialsevery correct definition for that lecture or book — you’ll see in the books, they’re all in there and we keep that going and now it’s just a matter of  [snaps fingers] tying it all together. Because dictionary started getting about this big. [shows audience with hands about 1 foot high].

Okay, so we have now two different categories: the hard-to-find words and phrases; but the technical terms are, given as theynot change, but “evolve”. Like how does …. What’s an engram in Book One, to what’s an engram in Thought, Emotion and Effort? And he talks about it being a heavy facsimile — you see he gives the new data on it.  So they all build up that way.

The other part are all of the materials for people to be moving onto The Bridge.  We have our basic books and so forth — our beginning books that I don’t have here.  And for those who weren’t here last year, you might wonder where the beginning books fit in? Well, he did Dianetics all the way right through Creation of Human AbilityDianetics 55! , which is really bringing Dianetics and Scientology recombined, that’s what Dianetics 55! is. Then he did Fundamentals of Thought which he distilled everything down to it’s basics. And then wrote POW and the basic books. Beginning books pick up there. It went the whole track and then undercut. And you have your Problems of Work, and things of that nature.

All right. But with all of these different items I’m talking about, when a guy finally walks on The Bridge the real key here is going to be A) A/V for new people, B) co-audits.

This transcript is very instructive on Miscavige’s implant technology. Notice how he just slips in the dictionary cancellation pronunciamento and quickly changes the subject once he has implanted that little gem into his captive, tractable audience?

Pay close heed to the last line:

All right. But with all of these different items I’m talking about, when a guy finally walks on The Bridge the real key here is going to be A) A/V for new people, B) co-audits.

He goes from cancelling the dictionary, off onto a ramble about basic books, and lays in the conclusion that the Bridge is going to consist of A/V and co-audits for new people.

A/V and co-audits?

What about Books?  What about books being the first line of dissemination, establishing a direct comm line between the reader and Hubbard?  What about the Academy line that Hubbard perfected over three decades as THE route?   All cancelled in a single sentence by the man who has spent the past thirty years destroying the memory of the Founder of Scientology L Ron Hubbard.

As to the glossaries substituting for a dictionary, under Miscavige’s “logic” an Academy student would have to pour through literally hundreds of books and lecture transcripts to clear a single word.  The die has been cast, the door is wide open in Miscavige’s cult for him to indoctrinate from the word “go” with his own films full of his confused and reversed ideas.

It all apparently goes unnoticed in Miscavige’s organizations. For the simple reason that Miscavige’s organizations do not train auditors, do not audit preclears, and do not disseminate Scientology.

His thinking apparently goes something like this, the longer the runway the more time to squeeze every last dime out of the rube before he learns enough Scientology to realize what they are doing to the poor sap.

Folks, my earnest advice is to gather and hold onto as much “old”, unaltered material as you possibly can.

Is David Miscavige a Threat to the Public At Large?

If you think the Petition to President Obama has nothing to do with you, your friends, your family, and even your neighbors, think again.  What follows is but one of many stories about how the taxpayer subsidized, mafia-like tactics of David Miscavige pose a danger to society at large.  Ratchet up your confront of evil a couple notches.  David Miscavige with a billion tax free dollars is capable of – and is trying his hardest to achieve – a tremendous amount of chaos and hurt  even to those who have never heard of Scientology. If you don’t want advances in the sciences and particularly health sciences to be squashed like the Dark Ages by a well-heeled sociopath then go to  http://wh.gov/4Os and sign the petition now – then get five other people to do the same.

Robert Almblad with one of his grandchildren

by Mike Rinder

Why doesn’t David Miscavige, the self-appointed leader of the Church of Scientology, want the world to have clean, safe ice?

And just what is “safe ice” and why is it important?

It’s a dirty not-so-little secret in the world of food service, hotels and hospitals that commercial ice machines make “dirty” ice. Numerous studies have confirmed this.  Seven  years ago a high school student in Tampa, FL made national headlines by taking samples from fast food outlet ice machines and toilet bowls.  Testing showed the toilet bowl water was cleaner 70% of the time. Hospital administrators are aware that ice machines are a source of hospital acquired illnesses (HAI’s) – more than 100,000 people die in US hospitals each year due to HAI’s, many more contract non-fatal illnesses they did not have when they were admitted.  But until now there was no technology to solve the problem.

Enter Robert Almblad, an internationally known engineer and inventor, who lives and works in Tarpon Springs, FL.

Robert solved the problem of “dirty ice,” with an innovative solution that could potentially save lives or prevent the spread of illness.

This was big news and welcome news to those aware of the problem.

http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/finally-a-clean-ice-machine-says-tarpon-springs-inventor/1151052

Not so to David Miscavige.  He perceives safe ice as a threat to his “empire” and Robert Almblad among the top 3 on his “enemies list.”

Why? Because Robert Almblad dared to associate with Scientology whistleblowers Mike Rinder and Marty Rathbun.  And even worse, Almblad retained Mike Rinder to work for him.

In the twisted mind of Miscavige, he is determined to force Almblad to disassociate himself from Rinder so Rinder is put into a “more amenable frame of mind” without a job and will therefore cry “uncle” and stop exposing the abuses of Miscavige.

But when Almblad refused to bend to the pressure, Miscavige implemented a plan to destroy him utterly – and along with it, his safe ice invention.

Miscavige’s pattern is a familiar one. Numerous media reports document his ruthless and unethical acts in furtherance of his desire to maintain leadership of his cult.

And so, Almblad became the subject of a widespread, expensive and incredible campaign of harassment.

His friends, family and neighbors were contacted, asking them “questions” like “What do  you know about your neighbor being a criminal?” Of course, there was no evidence of anything of the sort, but merely asking the question throws doubt in the minds of people that don’t know someone.

Robert was followed everywhere for months on end.  Walking the dogs. To restaurants. Stores. Doctor’s offices. Literally everywhere.  It’s a familiar pattern – see the Corpus Christi Caller Times articles documenting the harassment campaign against Marty Rathbun in Texas: http://www.caller.com/news/2011/aug/06/former-scientology-film-crew-member-describes-in/,  http://www.caller.com/news/2011/sep/19/former-scientology-official-arrested-in-on-the/ and http://www.caller.com/news/2011/sep/20/san-patricio-county-rejects-charge-against/

He was followed when he went out of state,  Miscavige and his gang gaining access to airline reservations and dispatching their henchmen as far away as Seattle, Washington.

The staff of his company have been harassed and followed. One staff member, never involved in Scientology, in a now also familiar pattern, is being prosecuted based on false reports filed with the State Attorneys Office after he was approached by Miscavige agents at his home.

Miscavige’s minions set up an office across street to surveil Almblad’s office 24/7.  And because three grown oak trees obstructed the view, someone took a chain saw to them in the middle of the night and left the trees blocking the road.  ONLY the three trees in front of Almblad’s office – no others.

One of the chainsawed trees

From this vantage point, they noted everyone who visited Almblad’s office, and they too would shortly thereafter receive visits from “reporters” or “private investigators” now “investigating” Robert Almblad on behalf of the Church of Scientology.  It got so bad that a Church operative, “Freedom Magazine” hack Jim Lynch burst into a private hotel meeting room in Miami Beach to attempt to intimidate businessmen Almblad was meeting with.  Lynch of course left the scene of the incident before the hotel security could get police there.

These incidents had only one purpose in mind – scare away anyone from doing business with Robert Almblad. And in the process destroy the safe ice business and drive him into bankruptcy. With that, Almblad would be taught a lesson and Rinder would be unemployed.

The campaign to break Robert Almblad failed.  He refused to cave in to their intimidation tactics.

He sucked it up and continued to do his job.

Then, another familiar tactic – numerous websites purporting to be “Robert Almblad”  sites  appeared with outrageous lies and innuendo, intended to sour anyone from doing business with Mr. Almblad.  And then a “special edition” Freedom Magazines further libeling him.  Of course, Miscavige knows that as Robert Almblad finances his inventions himself, he will run out of money before he could recover anything from a protracted legal battle to disprove the lies and sue for contract interference.

It’s a game Miscavige is familiar with – bully with an unlimited budget squashing anyone he sees as a threat.

But Almblad still refused to buckle.  He bought a throw away phone. Rather than flying, he drove from Florida to business meetings in New England so he could not be followed. He used a different name so Miscavige’s agents couldn’t spread lies about him before he could get his foot in the door.

He was not going to give in to the bully.

And while Miscavige spread all sorts of untruths about Robert Almblad being a dishonest, money-motivated scam artist, his actions have proved the precise opposite. By refusing to buckle under, by standing by Mike Rinder and Marty Rathbun in spite of every reason not to, he has demonstrated a level of personal integrity and courage that is rarely seen.

Will he be able to get his safe ice invention to market? That is not clear. If he does, it will be in the face of tremendous odds. And if he doesn’t, Miscavige still won’t win as Almblad, Rinder and Rathbun will not be deterred from exposing his crimes. But the world will not see the benefits of safe ice machines thanks to the machinations of a megalomaniac cult leader bent on the destruction of anything that does not forward his agenda. And every person who gets the flu from eating unclean ice in a restaurant or contracts a disease in a hospital will know who to thank – and perhaps who to sue.

David Miscavige vs St Petersburg Times: “It’s WAR!”

As a lot of you know, in June 2009 the St Petersburg Times began publishing its earth shaking Truth Rundown series:

http://www.tampabay.com/specials/2009/reports/project/

As those closely involved were aware, Miscavige – as is his wont – declared war not only on the Times, but upon the witnesses they interviewed for the series.  It was evident by his setting PI’s loose on Tom Tobin and Joe Childs, the Time’s writer and editor who investigated and wrote the series.  Miscavige also hired failed tabloid reporters – including one Jim “don’t call me a Scientology shill” Lynch to “investigate” the Times and publish a “white paper” criticizing their reporting.  Although it was intended to prevent Tobin and Childs and the Times from winning recognition, it did not stop them from earning awards for their reporting.  There was also the infamous, million dollar minimally, Freedom Magazine attack on the Times and its sources. And last but not least, the continual THREATS and PROMISES to sue.   By the by, the statute of limitations is long gone, and as has become his habit, the dog barked loud with no ensuing bite in sight.

Although it was evident Miscavige had started yet another in a long line of wars to suppress truth, you’d never catch the “church” admitting that.  Until now.

Shortly after the first installment of the series hit the news stands, Miscavige sent out a mission to attempt to handle the fall out from many on lines Scientologists – and off-lines ones still in good standing with the “church” – reading the St Pete Times.  Mission In Charge was one Mike Sutter, a long-term RTC (Religious Technology Center) staff member.   It turned out to be the longest failing mission operated in the history of the Sea Organization (church priesthood).  For background, see my post RTC IS DEAD, https://markrathbun.wordpress.com/2010/08/12/rtc-is-dead/

Well, thanks to the heads up work of David Lingenfelter, former Golden Era Productions Audio Technician genius, now San Antonio Texas Independent genius, we’ve got the real time arrogance and delusion of Miscavige, through the via of his missionaire Sutter, memorialized.  Please see the transcript excerpt below of Mike Sutter in action.
Mike Sutter (2010):
I don’t know if you ever heard of the St Petersburg Times. It is not a regular newspaper, from our perspective, from the church’s perspective.  Like it has been like since the mid 1970’s a mouthpiece to attack the church.  In other words, they quite uniquely, they have been a very willing purveyor of any type of entheta, whatever you want to call it. And they have especially over the last year, you know, put out several different articles that, you know, are outrageous on their face; but nonetheless, they do it and they’re negative toward the church.  Now, the good news is that they go to such lengths that their animosity is transparent.  Its, you know, very clear they have a vendetta. They’re not, you know, objective at all.
The other thing that’s good news is that their articles are not picked up, other newspapers do not pick up their articles, ok?
It’s not like their a tabloid, literally a tabloid.  Do they have a tabloid mentality, yes they do.  And like many newspapers, they’re desperate. They are not doing well financially.  I’m sure you’re familiar with the newspapers.  They’re within like three years of folding right now.  Just financially speaking.  And maybe that’s one of the reasons why they are doing this.  It’s not assisting their circulation.  If that’s the reason, it is a wrong why.  It shows in their stats.
But my point is, they are a mouthpiece. It’s a known negative mouthpiece.
And it’s in  a narrow area.  We’ve dealt with that. Like, we’ve put our own publications out in the area. And we have our own promotional campaign going. It’s not that we’re just going “poor us” or anything like that.
Believe me…their like… it’s a war!
You don’t screw around with us.  And you know, you know, turn the other cheek.  If you are going to do that then, good, you are going to hear from us.  And that is an ongoing thing which I don’t need to go into here.  It’s happening.
According to Miscavige’s agent the St Pete Times ought to be out of business by now. Let’s see who wins this latest war that Miscavige has declared, refusing to “turn the other cheek” and refusing to allow anyone to “screw around with us.”   While I think the result is already evident, I have a strong feeling that it will be made crystal clear to those still in doubt over the next few weeks.
