How far have we come since 1950?

by Haydn James.

Many of us came into Scientology or joined staff or the Sea Org with the purpose of clearing the planet. Remember that game? It was a numbers game – make enough Scientologists, enough Clears and the majority of enturbulated humans that inhabit this spinning orb we call Earth would disenturbulate. We didn’t need to physically clear them all, perhaps just a small percentage, but with six billion inhabitants, 3% would mean clearing 180 million, a finite if daunting task. But we knew LRH had made a fantastic start back in 1950 when he kicked the whole thing off with the publication of Book One (Dianetics). It was a runaway success, which led to countless members, groups and the early Scientology Churches. So we knew that if we just put our shoulder to the wheel and others followed suit we would get there in the end.

SO HOW FAR HAVE WE REALLY COME IN THE 60 YEARS SINCE THE PUBLICATION OF DIANETICS?

Now, Miscavige and his spin doctors would have you believe “We are millions” that we are “bigger and greater than ever” and that we are “racing away to a cleared planet, straight up and vertical”. But rather than listen to rhetoric, spin and bald faced lies, to determine the progress we’ve actually made we have to look at the numbers, because real numbers, based on experience, factual “uncooked” figures, don’t lie.

So let’s look at how many Church of Scientology members exist now compared to times past because real expansion could only mean one thing: more members — more Scientologists moving up the Bridge.

My wife and I worked at all echelons of Scientology and the Sea Org for more than 60 years combined. Our years in the trenches, working hands on with Scientology public as well our years in management with access to Scientology international reports and statistics up to the year 2006, plus the very latest intelligence reports from orgs, makes us uniquely qualified to calculate and comment on the actual number of Scientology church members.

Let’s define a member of the Church of Scientology as a person who is actively taking service or who is likely to take service from a Church organization at ANY time in the future, a broad definition.

CLASS V ORGS: As try as they might Class V orgs only get about an 1/8th of their actual public taking service at any given time. We were one of the bigger orgs in the world (Birmingham) and we had only 50 Scientologists on lines at any one time and had around 400 in total. This rule of thumb (total public = 8 times the on-lines public) holds true for the other Class V Orgs.

There are 150 Class V orgs. As of 2006, the incredibly stellar Milano org apart, the top 15 orgs had 50 to 120 Scientologists taking service per week. Shockingly, most of the rest fell into the small and failing category with only 10 to 20 per week.

That means a minority of orgs had 400 to 800 members while most had between 80 and 160. So let’s be very generous and put the average total members per org at 200.

150 orgs multiplied by 200 = 30,000 total members in the Class V org sector – at the most.

ADVANCED ORGS have predominantly the same people listed under Class V orgs but you have a gravitational effect too where Scientologists go and live in the area around advanced orgs.

There are 7 advanced orgs (AOLA, ASHO Day & Foundation, AOSH UK, St. Hill Foundation, AOSH ANZO and AOSH Europe) with around 150 service attendees each, on average (AOLA had more but others had less). Sticking with the same Class V org formula, 150 x 8 = 1200 total parishioners each, on average. So that’s a maximum of 8400 additional advanced org parishioners and that is generous indeed considering a higher percentage attend services than in Class V orgs and at least some members have now been counted twice by being counted under both Class V org and Advanced org categories.

FSO has the same parishioners listed in both the Class V and Advanced org sections but also has some who consider themselves FSO-only public. At 500 of them taking service at any give time (discount the outer org trainees as they are counted in the Class V orgs and Advanced orgs) that’s 500 x 8 (extremely generous) = 4000 total additional parishioners and some of those have now been counted three times.

MISSIONS: There are hundreds of missions but they are far worse off than orgs. Many have just one or two part time staff and a handful of parishioners. I have attended events at missions in two different states of late and there were no more than 10 attendees in each. 300 missions with an average of 25 parishioners (very generous) = 7500 members.

As for field auditors, WISE etc. — all counted a number of times in various categories above so I am not going to repeat the error.

TOTAL: 30,000 plus 8400 plus 4000 plus 7500 = a very generous 49,900 members at the very most.

[Note: this is as of 2006. Things are much worse now with FSO turned into a crush regging machine, the houses of Scientologists for sale in the Clearwater area at an all time high (despite the depressed housing market), a truly crashed Class V org scene and countless other problems not to mention the independent movement in full flow!]

As a cross check, let’s figure it a different way and let’s go back a few years. As of the year 2000 Scientology as a whole got a total of 20,000 attendees worldwide for an “important” international all-Scientologists-must-attend event. That’s all attendees on the night plus all worldwide attendees for all the delayed events – total showings. Now, it’s no surprise but as hard as they try, A Class V org can only drag about a quarter of its public to any given event no matter how “important”. FSO and Advanced Orgs manage around 50 percent of their resident public. That puts the entire Scientology population in the year 2000 at sixty thousand if we are consistently generous and say that the total number of attendees for an important worldwide event represents only a third of all members.

In summary, that’s 60 thousand members in the year 2000, down to around 50,000 by 2006 and much less by 2010, which all jives with experience, stats, reports and more recent intelligence my wife and I have witnessed.

There is also an empirical observation that can be made that supports these figures. Have you noticed how the remaining staff and public seem to be made up of mostly older people on the one hand and fairly young people on the other? Even the young people are most often the sons and daughters of the older staff/Scientology public (and they are heavily recruited to staff because they are one of the few remaining recruit pools). I know I’m far from alone in making this observation — an age polarization has taken place in Scientology creating a wide gap. Now, that’s not so hard to spot but what about the omitted? What about the countless missing members from all the years in between? Where are they? As shocking as it may seem, it looks like we failed to make any meaningful number of Scientologists for the last twenty odd years (which is also the period of Miscavige’s utterly dominant reign by the way).

Now, another thing that shocks me about these numbers is that it seems very likely LRH had more members way back in 1953 than Scientology has now. Let me expand: In 1953, Birmingham in England had only a Dianetics group. But on page 339 of Tech Volume 1, LRH wrote that he travelled from London to Birmingham on 21st May 1953, to give a lecture to 100 attendees. He was very disappointed in the attendance but very happy with their obvious knowledge of Dianetics. But if you fast forward 50 years to 2003, Birmingham boasted one of the biggest Scientology orgs on the planet yet with all the modern forms of communication it struggled and I mean struggled to get 100 public attendees to ANY event, of ANY kind, at ANY time. What the …?

And how come after working for 14 hard years in Birmingham (before we returned to management in 2005) my wife and I managed to build the org up from nowhere to a level where it only just matched the size of London Foundation circa 1977 (nearly thirty years earlier) and it’s worse than that because in 2005 Birmingham was the only Class V Org in the UK of ANY real size.

And can anyone explain why my wife went to a tech briefing in Sacramento in 1977 at which there were more than a 1000 attendees (just a tech briefing) whereas you wouldn’t hear of a 1000 Scientologists gathering in the Sac area these days. I visited Sac Org in 2006 – it was dead.

And can anyone also explain how come I attended a Flag World Tour event in London in 1976 at which there were thousands present whereas I attended an important London event in 2003 for the benefit of both London Day and Foundation for which less than 90 showed up.

So in our zeal to correct obvious abuses lets not miss outpoints about the size of the Empire State Building — Scientology is puny and it is smaller now than at any time in its entire history, which is an outrage, but the facts and numbers don’t lie.

“But … but … what about the grand opening events for the big shiny new buildings where hundreds of people show up?” a few might ask. What? You mean like Dallas where my wife worked on the final stages of the building prep cycle for weeks and was at the opening event and reported that the number of Scientology members in Dallas was actually less than the average number I used in the above calculation and the big Dallas shiny new building was empty. And Madrid opening event where Miscavige forced Scientology church executives from all over Europe to attend to pad the numbers. I know because my wife and other execs from Birmingham were forced to fly there and consequently mingled with all the other attendees similarly press ganged.

These “grand openings” are staged to look great but after the event is over and rent-a-crowd departs all you are left with is an empty building, a handful of staff and less public than ever before.

And there is another colossal outpoint that goes hand in hand with all the above: an LRH rule and observation on book sales states that for every 25 books sold to the world at large a Scientologist is made. Through orgs and trade lines we have sold something like 50 million books out in the world over the years. That’s two million Scientologists. Where are they? And are they the missing members between the ages of twenty-something and fifty on up?

You could ask what the hell we have been doing for the last 60 years. But that would be an unfair question because it’s no secret that Scientology’s international stats crashed in the summer of 1990 and have not reverted twenty years on.

So the real questions are:

– What have we been doing for the last 20 plus years?

– Why are there fewer members now than at any time in our history?

– Where are the missing two million members?

– And above all, what factors underlie this terrible state of affairs?

Next, I’ll proffer some answers from my perspectivie.

Momentary Reprieve – final purges part 5

Debbie briefly returned to what was becoming the mother of all Idle Morgues

By her own vigilance and a simple twist of fate Debbie was temporarily reprieved from the living hell of the Hole. Having missed his May 9th event target for releasing the Basics, DM then scheduled a special Maiden Voyage at Flag release event.

Catching wind of this Debbie very artfully indirectly got word to DM that such a plan would fail miserably without Debbie on the scene coordinating the massive logistics required to pull it off at Flag.

DM did order Debbie back to Flag and she managed to get back on her Capt FLB post. However, after using her credibility to lure in the public and make them buy into DM’s “New Era of Knowledge”, DM had her completely de-powered. He briefed the RTC Reps and the CMO on how “1.1. and evil” she was, how she had “sabotaged everything”. The briefings included a number of alleged lies that Debbie had allegedly told him about Flag renos/construction – that of course, as per usual, were utter inventions of DM’s paranoid mind. RTC Reps and CMO terminals were shell shocked. Last time they saw Debbie she was DM’s Golden Girl, getting promoted to Int. They, however, put their own perceptions aside to carry out “command intention” with gusto.

DM had RTC Reps gunning for Debbie. Ty Webb had replaced my former wife Anne as RTC Rep Flag. Anne had been sent to Int to do DM’s dirty work there. Other RTC Reps came in and out, such as Lurie Belotti from the ship, all briefed to hound Debbie, which they dutifully did.

This was the final decimation of Flag. Debbie, her staff, and FSO executives were pounded to do nothing but “sales and sign ups for the Basics”, and all standard FSO business went by the wayside – treated as a nuisance. DM dictates such as “all base execs and crew do not go home at night until all Basics quotas are met” severely disestablished what Debbie had spent nearly thirty years helping to put there.

All the while Debbie was suffering from a physical condition; one which more than anything required proper nutrition, exercise and rest to handle. Under DM’s “Basics” drive, instead Debbie was subjected to bad nutrition, no exercise, little rest. To top it off, DM – as is his standard operating procedure – saw to it that Debbie was taken off of Solo NOTS, and was instead subjected to continuous invalidative sec checking.

Debbie continually originated that her physical pain was intensifying. Every origin was ignored. Finally, she was pulled in for a Severe Reality Adjustment by RTC Rep Ty Webb to “stop motivating”, and put on a “COB ordered Ethics program” which included “M-9 the entire Ethics book.”

Debbie’s freedom was being systematically destroyed. She was prohibited from driving. She had a full time CMO guard on her.

During this campaign to disgrace Debbie in her own house, FSO was being converted into the Reg factory it has become. Debbie’s only ally and comfort was her husband Wayne Baumgarten. DM’s vampire insticts picked up on some external force keeping Debbie’s head above water and soon Wayne was pulled in to Security FLB and subject to DM’s Shock Doctrine. Wayne was told confess to suppressive acts. When he expressed surprise, he was told he was going to the RPF. He could either go for the crimes he confesses, or for withholding the crimes – and that if it were the latter he’d be in for a far more unpleasant experience than if he were to choose the former.

Debbie recognized she was losing the last (and most important) part of her life in Wayne and so drawing on her personal persuasion skills she had honed over the past thirty years, she somehow convinced Security to allow Wayne to visit her one night at the Hacienda.

The next morning, Debbie and Wayne were transported to the base by her guard in a Flag van. Debbie convinced the driver to stop at the galley in the Clearwater bank building so that they could pick up some breakfast. The guard pulled up to the CB, got out and went into the CB to get the food.

When the guard disappeared into the building, Debbie jumped into the driver’s seat and sped off. She and Wayne drove to a rental car lot, rented a car, and left the van behind.

It did not take long for the OSA dragnet to kick into action.

The Real Third Party by Mike Rinder

Guest columnist Mike Rinder with friends in Oxford

There has been some discussion of late concerning the 3P that exists between “Scientology” and “Independents”.

LRH states:

The law would seem to be:

A THIRD PARTY MUST BE PRESENT AND UNKNOWN IN EVERY QUARREL
FOR A CONFLICT TO EXIST.

Or

FOR A QUARREL TO OCCUR, AN UNKNOWN THIRD PARTY MUST BE
ACTIVE IN PRODUCING IT BETWEEN TWO POTENTIAL OPPONENTS.

Or

WHILE IT IS COMMONLY BELIEVED TO TAKE TWO TO MAKE A FIGHT, A
THIRD PARTY MUST EXIST AND MUST DEVELOP IT FOR ACTUAL CONFLICT TO
OCCUR.

It is very easy to see that two in conflict are fighting. They are very visible. What is harder to see or suspect is that a third party existed and actively promoted the quarrel. The usually unsuspected and “reasonable” third party, the bystander who denies any part of it is the one that brought the conflict into existence in the first place.

One sees two fellows shouting bad names at each other, sees them come to blows. No  one else is around. So they, of course, “caused the fight”. But there was a third party. Tracing these down, one comes upon incredible data. That is the trouble. The incredible is too easily rejected. One way to hide things is to make them incredible.

This theory might be thought to assert also that there are no bad conditions that cause conflict. There are. But these are usually REMEDIAL BY CONFERENCE  UNLESS  A THIRD PARTY  IS  PROMOTING  CONFLICT.

If you look at the conflicts that Scientology is involved in, they range from “the Church” versus “Independents” to “the Church” versus “the media”, versus “the government”, “the French”, “the pharmaceutical companies”, “the psychs”, “the SPs”, “the squirrels”, “the out ethics public”, and on and on.  Even the staff versus the public.

There is an old principle of investigation: trace back who benefits.  What purpose is there for all this conflict to be fomented.  There is an easy answer for that – one that every Scientologist is aware of, and it is increasingly apparent to one and all that it has become more important than the orgs and delivering LRH tech. The IAS.  Every conflict, every disaster affords a new reason that money needs to be donated to the IAS.

But, LRH also says, you have to locate the hidden BEING behind the conflict.

That’s also easy. Look to see who benefits.

Who benefits from the IAS money?  The Machiavellian Midget himself.  It is this money that he uses to prop up his own PR and keep himself in power. It is this money that is used to buy empty buildings (as everyone just saw at the last IAS event) and generate PR about the “massive inroads” Scientology is making into the world with programs that are shown in PR videos at Miscavige’s events.

Remember, The incredible is too easily rejected. One way to hide things is to make them incredible.  That is the reason Scientologists cannot spot the real 3P. It is too incredible. How could the “Dear Leader” who has been responsible for the incredible expansion of Scientology, be a bad hat 3P?  Well, he has conducted a campaign of PR by redefinition of words.

The big lie he is perpetrating is that Scientology is expanding like never before.  The evidence to “prove” this is the purchase/renovation and opening of “new” Ideal Orgs.  In truth, MEST has been substituted for real expansion in a sleight of hand that has been so deft that most Scientologists don’t see it. Of course, every person who calls  himself or herself a Scientologist naturally wants to see Scientology expanding.  Who, other than a real SP, would not want others to achieve the gains they have achieved? Who, other than a real SP, would not want to destimulate the planet by getting as many people as possible to be able to erase their reactive minds?  Who, other than an SP, would not want everyone to be able to read and understand what they are reading with Study Technology.  And after all, we all want a Cleared Planet as our ultimate goal.

The expansion of Scientology and the destimulation of the peoples of earth IS the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics.  And even a new Scientologist knows that this is the formula that when applied enhances survival. So, how do you persuade otherwise intelligent, well-meaning people (that is, the Scientologists of the world) to ignore obvious outnesses?  You make the outnesses seem small when compared to the greater good.  The LRH example comes to mind – if a vaccine saved thousands of lives, but killed a few, is it a pro-survival solution? Of course.  So if under Miscavige’s leadership the Church has expanded at “explosive” rates does it really matter if he has been beating people up, spending money like a Saudi prince, knocking hats off those junior to him, destroying the management infrastructure  etc. etc. etc.? Of course not.

But, what if that explosive expansion actually DIDN’T exist? What if those things that are said about Miscavige were not only true, they had in fact destroyed the very structure of organizations and management that LRH put in place, turning the executive echelon of Scientology into a mob of broken, mindless individuals, thus guaranteeing that no expansion would occur. What then?

Then Miscavige would have to come up with a way of demonstrating “expansion” without really having any, using whatever resources were available.  Miscavige doesn’t have competent management at his disposal.  But, he does have MONEY.  Hundreds of millions of dollars.  And though money won’t buy you love, nor happiness, it will buy MEST.  So, here is Miscavige the Magician’s trick.  Scrap the LRH plan of building orgs to St Hill Size (too hard to do anyway – and then there are those damned staff that have to be gotten to OT in the orgs and there’s no management to organize that) and replace it with “Ideal Orgs”.  Oh how clever.  There IS an LRH policy called Ideal Orgs, so it sounds legitimate.  And you just keep talking about Ideal Orgs and make it the “thing to do” and pretty soon everyone will forget about the St Hill size orgs.  And slowly, but surely, you redefine even the concept of an Ideal Org to being “ideal BUILDING”.  And then you tell everyone that this is THEIR problem and make them “part of the game”.  So, the OT Ambassadors and the local OT Committees and all local Scientologists now buy into the laudable objective of having a nice building for their org.  But building the org itself – the people and the theta – they drift quietly into the background (until it comes to “Grand Opening” when a lot of people are going to see the “Ideal Org” on video and the broken down, discarded staff from Int and staff from other orgs are shipped in to make it appear temporarily the place is something more than merely a building).

So, Miscavige tells one and all that he is spearheading this massive expansion, proven by the “new” Ideal Orgs that are being opened.  You hear it at the International events and you read about it in Freedom – pages and pages about Miscavige opening orgs (and not a mention of L. Ron Hubbard).  And obviously anyone who says Miscavige is anything other than perfect is just an SP trying to destroy Scientology, because look at what he is doing and that IS the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics.

Or is he really just the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain?

Or is he really the hidden Third Party that is too incredible for most Scientologists to spot?

It’s easy enough to know.  Walk into any one of these “Ideal Orgs” and see whether there is massive expansion occurring?  Do they have more or less staff than was shown on the video for their “Grand Opening”?  How many students are in the course room?  How many Clears have they made since they “opened”?  Funny that you aren’t hearing about the massive expansion in these individual orgs.  All you see about them is Miscavige cutting the ribbon and spouting flowery doublespeak written by the LRH Biographer and some shots of empty buildings.

Why you may ask don’t the people in the orgs say anything about this?  It’s the old Roman strategy of “divide and conquer.” The few remaining staff huddled in the cold in the Buffalo “Ideal Org” think they are the only ones who have an empty org and that they are really out of step with the rest of the Scientology world. They don’t even want to ask the few remaining staff in Madrid what things are like over there.  They’d probably be shot if they tried. And no public person wants to look like a fool after donating time and money to creating the “Ideal Org” and being good followers of the great COB and his “Command Intention” by questioning whether the org is doing well. They see it, but they quietly hope someone else is going to deal with it.

But there is another beauty to this plan too.  It keeps everyone quiet.  Because anyone who points out the obvious is labeled an SP. “Obviously” if someone is saying the orgs aren’t full and expanding they are CI – or worse yet, they are gloating about it and want it that way.  And who would gloat at the poor staff who are there working their asses off day in and day out?  Only a pure SP.   Again, propaganda by redefinition of terms.  Pointing out the obvious is redefined as gloating.   The staff of those orgs are in the unenviable position of having no management to guide them.  No programs.  No marketing.  Those things have all been forsaken for the “Ideal Org Strategy” because of course, once the “Ideal Org” has been shown on a video, it has no importance to Miscavige any longer.  You can’t show a building opening twice.  People might get suspicious.

It’s the big lie. It is clever. But when you analyse the FACTS, it is what it is. And until the real Third Party is spotted, the conflicts will continue.

And one last thing. The proof of this pudding is this: as soon as someone DOES spot the real source of the conflict, THE SP, charge blows, the clouds  part and a whole lot of shaking starts going on.

Abilities return, sometimes chronic somatics even disappear, and things start going right again in one’s life. Hell, if you listen real close you might even hear scores of gentle “clicks” in the air, the sound of spines straightening up across the world.

Insouciant

You all ever despair that we aren’t heard?  Take a look at the latest promo for the C of M, for the LV Idle Org where DM will  be this weekend, no less.

Cramming Order – David Miscavige

report to MOQ for cramming

Outness noted: First of all, well done on taking our cue and  at least trying to promote LRH’s definition of the attitude of a Scientologist. But flunk on the promo piece. That is more like posed cheerfulness (with more than a hint of PTSness evident).  In order to demonstrate insouciance, you’ve got to walk the walk.  Roberto Sanchez is insouciant. Chrissie Pearlman is insouciant. Sam Domingo is insouciant. Mary Jo Leavitt is insouciant.  Hell, your Cramming Officer (MOQ) is damn insouciant. The lives of the independents listed on this blog are your Art Series 8.  Good on trying to talk the talk. Flunk on not even trying to walk the walk. You can’t fake insouciance. First thing you’ve got to do is de-power the reign of terror hanging over everybody’s heads.  Now, for you, that is a real trick. But I am sure if anybody can sort you out, the MOQ can.

Recommended handling:

1. Fly all Cram ruds.

2. More intense study of the Independent movement, maybe even some participation, as that is definitely your Art Series 8.

Jimbo, you all set? By the way Jim, please also cram on routing policies and on cleaning cleans. He sent the damn promo to Dave Adams and Jamie Sorrentini.  Now Dave Adams doesn’t need any lessons in inscouciance. And we all know Jamie Sorrentini is insouciant. Tiziano Lugli is insouciant. Cathy Greenbaum is insouciant…………etc and et al…you get the point.

Bravo to Roberto Sanchez

An OSA mission to Mexico rounded up virtually every family member of Roberto Sanchez (Mexican Amigo) and used what ever means, fair or foul, to turn them against Roberto for having spoken his mind.  Roberto is standing strong – even at the potential cost of losing his entire family. Please communicate to him your support, let him know he has family across the world who would never turn on him no matter what. Thank you.

Obstruction of Justice

Last year Silvia Kusada was told by a Flag MAA  that if she were to report her then 2D to law enforcement for the brutal battery he visited upon her she would be committing a suppressive act and could be declared.  The MAA was using the following published “suppressive acts” as authority:

Reporting or threatening to report Scientology or Scientologists to civil authorities in an effort to suppress Scientology or Scientologists from practicing or receiving standard Scientology; and

Bringing civil suit against any Scientology organization or Scientologist, including the nonpayment of bills or failure to refund, without first calling the matter to the attention of the International Justice Chief and receiving a reply.

Now, having de-pts’d ourselves from the C of M and the new DM meanings of LRH writings  they have forced people to accept, it is very plain to see the policies used to prevent people from exercising their civil and human rights to recourse to society’s justice apparatus simply do not state what church staff say they state.  Now consider this scenario. You are  beat unconsious by someone nearly twice your size. You go to the designated, authorized church representative for giving guidance and succor for such brutality. The church rep tells you authoritatively that you must look inward for how you might have caused the misguided thug to blow a fuse, and when you initially resist, you are told you could lose your lifetime investment in your religion – not to mention all your friends, family and business connections – should you pursue justice.  That might serve to obstruct your path to the pursuit of justice, don’t you agree?

Well, by the time Silvia heroicly fought through just such a soul searching (and internal appealing) nightmare and recognized in fact the church as an institution was aiding and abetting someone who was not only out ethics and criminal under the church’s own ethics codes but under the laws of the land, several months had passed. When she decided to take measures to protect future potential victims and press criminal charges against her assailant, the latter attempted to have the charges dismissed because of the nine month time lapse between the incident and the complaint. When Siliva explained the church’s dictates – at the behest of the assailant – asssailant’s attorney promised he would deliver a sworn statement by a church representative that states the church does not dissuade parishioners from seeking justice in the courts, but instead encourages them to.

Had Silvia told me about this on any other day I might not have posted anything about this. But, it just so happens that the woman I was auditing today was similarly bullied by church representatives  to not pursue her rights in court. As a result, she lost several years of custody and companionship of her children and forfeited hundreds of thousands of dollars that were rightfully and lawfully hers.

It also just so happens that the phone call I received just prior to Silvia’s was from a woman who was also  forced by church representatives to drop divorce proceedings and she too lost substantial time with her child that she was legally and ethically entitled to as a result.

It also just so happens that in all three of these cases that coincidentally consumed my  entire day and evening, the woman in the equation was attacked by the church, and intimidated from pursuing justice, on the basis that their spouses were either well-heeled and willing to direct much wealth to C of M reges and/or brown nosing, card carrying DM-bots.

If I can run into three in one days, it occured to me that there must be one hell of a lot more instances out there of similarly situated folks having their access to justice obstructed.

It also occured to me that we should not permit Silvia Kusada to be steam rolled like this.  If anyone has personal experiences of being ordered not to pursue justice as Silvia was, I urge you to contact Silvia and provide her with a statement so that she might effectively respond to the perjurious statement her assailant’s lawyer has promised to provide to the City Attorney in an effort to get charges dropped against him. If anyone has seen the movie Changeling, while not quite as dramatic, Silvia is being subjected to the same 50’sesque psych op of “nobody will ever believe you.”  Contact Silvia at Skusada2010@gmail.com.

Finally, in response to the anticipated attack on the many church sponsored anti-Marty sites, I am not encouraging any attack upon Scientology. Read the opening paragraphs of this post.  The LRH policy DM-bots cite as authority for denying people access to the courts countenances nothing of the sort.  Yet, C of M routinely does so, each time underming LRH and the subject of Scientology that much more. And it does so in order to divert monies from deserving mothers and into DM’s slush funds.  And when someone questions the off-policy nature of such funds (as Silvia did – and which is the ONLY act on her part that made her persona non grata), under Miscavology, he or she may be beat, dragged, and strangled unconscious with no recourse to justice (not only Scientology justice, but the justice system afforded as a human and civil right of every human being).  The attack on Scientology is coming from within the church.

Ignoring injustice perpetuates oppression.

MOQ Corner

Blogger note: I’ve got a nickname for Jim Logan. It is MOQ (Master of Qual). It was inspired by his seemingly effortless ability to rapidly find the LRH tech and policy references that clarify a given situation or resolve a particular problem.  Well, Jim posted a comment today that I hijacked to convert into a post to give it the emphasis and discussion I think it deserves.  I’m thinking maybe we ought to hear from Jim periodically when he does a little research project that clarifies questions currently being pondered and debated on this blog. You think?

JUSTICE by Jim Logan

On a tape from the Briefing Course, 8 June 65, PTS Handling, LRH is giving the ‘music’ for the words he’s published in the Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letters beginning in March of that year, outlining the Justice Codes, what to do about PTS and SP particles impinging on the newly designed Organization Board. He’s outlining on this tape how to ‘play the piano’ with this data.

Anyway, an interesting point is brought up on how a management can go down the slide to becoming ’suppressive’ as he calls it. That is, that it ends up suppressing those it manages.

This is related to various comments that have come up on how it came to be so bad under DM.

In 1980, the top of the org board was undergoing stress. Lots of things to handle, including the Guardian’s Office scene and the end of that trial, corporate sort out and such. In 81, there was the Mission Holders conference at the Sandcastle in Clearwater. I was there for a lot of it because the band I was in rehearsed at the Sandcastle since nobody was staying there as the Air Conditioning had been shut off to save money and the place went into complete mold-ridden. Anyway, the conference was going on down there.

That conference had ‘assigned’ the new Watch Dog Committee, a lower condition, something like Confusion or the like. It was quite bold. Bill Franks was ED Int, and he had good comm lines to the Mission Holders so they had apparently, support from that quarter.

DM finally showed up and ran one of the meetings. A ‘confrontation’ between ‘INT’ and the ‘field’ it was. From that first conference, the die was cast. What to do about it? What to do about these uppity Mission Holders assigning the top of the org board conditions. What to do about the apparent ‘mutiny’? Indeed.

OK, this tape I’m on 8 June 65 PTS Handling says this: ” You mean you’re going to concentrate on this 20 (%) and you’re going to neglect the 80?”

In other words, get wrapped up in handling PTS/SP cases, and neglect the 80% that are doing just fine.

Further in the tape, he says: “Allright, our next approach to the situation is to bring it about where the individual can reach the 80 effectively without being entangle by the 20″. That is, the materials of the Justice Codes, PTS/SP, Dead File, and so on.

Further on: “The ordinary citizen never really has to be policed. But he is policed continuously because of the goofs of three or four criminals. Do you see?

” So it’s an ‘Everybody bears the burden of a couple of crooks’. Do you follow? And you’ll find that most of your arbitrary laws and savageness on the part of executives and officers and so forth, stems from the fact that they are unable to handle the couple that goofed, and if they have enough losses in handling these guys then they get savage toward everybody.”

“That’s how your governments turn into suppressive organizations and so forth, because they really can’t handle the criminal at all.

“Allright, so you get a broad punishment of everybody in sight!”

The Mission Holders conference and it’s milieu and circumstances, was the excuse DM used to re-implement ‘heavy ethics’ and it was on the reported basis of the initial purposes for the Justice Codes, handling the 20%. Add in the fact the guy had the SP characteristics himself, that is, he’s part of the smaller percent of the 20% (that has the tendency to WRONG TARGET) and with the color of ‘LRH policy’ behind him, and the apparent circumstances of ‘mutiny’ as it was called BY DM, and kabang. The reign of terror is in full swing.

Within a year of that first conference, ‘disconnection’ is back in full, enforced, with the Scientology Policy Directive 28, of 12 Aug 82, and in Sept 83, the SP Acts policy is revised, rewritten, and includes 7 new pages, along with the rewrite of various issues related to the subjects of PTS/SP and voila, the whole thing is ’sanctioned’. Mass declares, mass disconnections enforced.

The above quotes describe it becoming suppressive even for those who aren’t suppressive as executives to begin with. What we’ve seen is a real SP abusing valid LRH materials and punishing the lot of us, due to his inability to see any right target.

DM’s standard tech – The Fowler case

I’ve been kept abreast of a curious murder case being investigated in Denver. I had no intent of doing anything with it particularly. Until I’d received a number of emails and calls from  friends complaining of the lies they have been told about me – both verbally by DM-bots, and on any one of the number of sites OSA has set up about me. DM-bots have recently taken to forging comments on my blog in the names of my friends (Dan Koon and Tom Felts) attempting to paste up the tripe they post on their own unread blogs.  The lies are so legion – and NONE by any named SOURCE –  it would be tantamount to entering an unproductive quagmire trying to disprove all of the negatives.  But, I’ve chosen one that ought to  be addressed because it doesn’t limit the attack to me, but seeks to degrade my pc’s and friends.

DM-bots have put in writing that three of my pcs have since auditing with me broken up with their long-term 2Ds.  In fact, the story of the only person whom I have audited that subsequently broke up with her 2D  sheds some light on just how depraved DM’s lies can be.  The woman came to me because her husband expressed his intention to join the ranks of Scientology haters.  On the one hand, she had already decided she’d never support DM’s horror story, and on the other she was not about to go after Scientology and LRH. Thus she came to me.  If you ask her I think you will find that she considers I lended a hand in her valient struggle to walk the LRH Code of Honor walk despite every invitation to do otherwise.  I am proud of every person who has ever had the strength and courage to hold the cans across the table from me after eschewing DM’s increasingly fascist regime.  Incidentally, I have probably saved the C of M a half dozen lawsuits from people who have sought help from me in walking on rather than walking in to DM’s GPM nightmare. In any event, I don’t use security bonds nor suggest, let alone threaten, anyone to not talk freely about their experience with me. If I commit a real overt, there is nothing preventing the victim to yell  about it from the highest hill.

I make it no secret that I audit, or help through other means, anybody who reaches. Anyone. I don’t sec check them to find out whether they are worthy of help, or may one day become a liability to me. I’ve audited  at least four extensive previous psycho-therapy/psychologist cases, at least one suicidal individual, and even some walking in with  fears in their minds whether it was safe to pick up the cans in any circumstances so deep was their anguish about their previous extensive intensives with the C of M.  I never had anyone sign a waiver, disclaimer, nor pay a single red cent  for the privilege of going in session. I’ve handled every one exactly per the statement of how I operate on the Welcome page of this blog.

It is also no secret by now that I have gotten a number of people ont0 the OT levels whom DM’s RTC has harrassed off of them through endless sec checking, security handlings, ethics handlings, and outright blackmail and extortion for never ending “donations.”  For the most part I have found they were people who just would not buckle to the machine’s bent on making people pledge allegiance to the little tyrant before being “invited” to the levels or being allowed to continue.

So, back to the curious case in Denver. Take a look at this recent article in the Denver Post detailing what is known so far about one of those people DM’s RTC has not only embraced for the levels, but who was actively auditing  OT VII under DM-bot C/Ses, http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_14251372.

When I have stated in the past that DM’s Reverse Scientology machine is dedicated to making not only staff, but even public, in his image, I was not exaggerating or using hyperbole. Note the parallel between Mr. Fowler’s handling of his ex-employee and the way Tommy and DM handled Larry Anderson.  The guy needs to sign a gag order to get what is rightfully his?  And when he apparently objects, he is literally terminated?  Believe me, Mr. Fowler is not the only “OT” C of M public who has adopted DM’s ways in a big way.

Bottom line: My public are those who resist the DM implant. They are the ones who cannot get eligibility or who are constantly harrassed and stopped on their ways to OT. They are the ones DM’s RTC – who are  the ultimately adjudicators of who passses “go” and who goes to jail – find reprehensible. They are the rebels and artists.  Two of the three categories of beings LRH said were put on this beautiful prison planet.  The third category DM, you don’t have to worry about losing them.  They tend to steer clear of people like me,  I tend not to ask them to participate. Though, at the end of the day, if they did show up, I’d do everything in my power to help them.

Tiziano Lugli breaks free

I REMEMBER by Tiziano Lugli

I remember when Scientology was fun…when Scientologists were actually UP TONE!

When staff members were eager to get on their posts and produce the VFPs of their Hats, not to be turned into 24/7 All Hands Regging Particles.

I remember when CC Int used to be fun. When there were not cliques of celebs and big donors, not A-B-C-D lister. Where you would have a friendly environment where people where actual friends.

Chick mixing it up with Tiziano

When Tom Davis was an upstat, uptone, funny and energetic guy, when he used to hang out with us, and even go to the movies…

Tommy with Tiziano back in the day

…with all the new upcoming talents, small and big celebs alike, and I remember when Kirstie used to be skinny too, back when we were friends.

Tiziano with Kirsti back in the day

I remember when you knew that when you’d get off your o/ws in session on FPRD they wouldn’t use them against you in case you leave in the future.

I remember when going to the Freewinds and Flag was a peaceful, relaxing and pure theta experience.

I remember when the Fort Harrison was NOT a 5 star Hotel with an alleged 5 star service, but was FULL all of the time, instead of empty as it is now.

I remember when you could talk freely about the tech with friends, questions you had, share your wins and rely on your friends for advice without getting into “ethics trouble”.

I remember when it was all about OT phenomena and Theta wins and not just mere lousy MEST and money wins.

I remember waking up and wanting nothing else but to go on course, having the excitement to KNOW the next part on the checksheet, where pure understanding and application was the only goal of our Supervisors, not just a machine to shove you through a course in record time to show how DM’s new line up is 10 times faster.

I remember when Scientology would actually raise your IQ and make you more able at challenging knowledge.  When it made Lions out of people, not scared and wounded sheep.

I remember when you used to finish a drill and be really happy about it knowing that you REALLY got it, instead of already feeling invalidated because you would have to re-do it 5 more times by the Golden Age of Tech new checksheet.

I would dare ANYONE even only after a week of passing the test, to tell me 20 Tone Levels and their respective arbitrary number that goes with it, or how about the thirteenth law of L&N, or how about ALL of the manifestations in order of the Misunderstood Word. I remember when full conceptual understanding was senior to verbatim patterns.

I remember when you could take some new friend who had newly found admiration for you and was interested in your wins, and you would tell them, “yeah, it’s Scientology” and they were able to come into the org, and meet upstat and uptone people, get greeted as Beings, not as Div Six particles. They were able to walk in and out freely, without the Div 6 Regs overwhelming them and making them into nothing, so that they could at least sell them something, and have a fake statistic to report to their seniors.

Tiziano with wife Jamie

I remember when Sea Org Members were there for the products they’d create, they were friendly…and when the stats were not the goal, they were simply a by-product of their good work.

When an SO member was not just another obstacle you try to pass at an event or at session/course break trying to reg you in every which way they could – buy this, the new books, the new lectures, come to the seminar where we’re gonna sell you something, there’s an IAS special briefing JUST for you, we gotta get you active on Human Rights, Criminon, Narconon, you gotta take a post in a mission – and when everything was said and done (and you were still broke) – do you qualify for the Sea Org?  I need you to come see a special slide show…

The Church of Scientology we once knew is DEAD.

What was once lost can be found again, and what was once great can be greater… and we surely do come back.

At the top there is the biggest traitor of the freedom it proclaims it instills and with nearly a billion dollars in the bank, the torch of the IAS is now and forever dead.

In this church of conformity the pretence of “we disagree” remains just a lousy sales pitch to make the few rebels for freedom enslave themselves to the degree that they NEVER agreed.

Never ‘play’ with your own integrity in the hope of some future freedom…it just never works out that way.

Be TRUE to yourself, in EVERY step of the way…whichever way that is.

You can’t scream to calm somebody down. You can’t fight a war for peace. You can’t hate to preserve love and you cannot enslave the people if you’re trying to free beings.

Tiziano and his wife Jamie Sorrentini are two charming, theta people. They are also intelligent and creative.  Since both of them received a heavy dose of Reverse Scientology in the C of M, they began to look for answers.  In retaliation for merely visiting with me they were subjected to an intensive and vicious campaign to cut all of their communication lines.  Being the resilient, insouciant beings they are, they are persevering quite beautifully. Stay tuned to Rediscoveringscientology.com for their full story which will be posted later today, it is a barn burner. I’ll post the link here when it is up.

Haiti

By now most of us probably have an idea of just how catastrophic the Haiti earthquakes have been for the people of that nation.  Relief efforts have dominated the news for the past week. WH suggested on this blog that people give something to those efforts. Someone commented it was not clear what charities one could trust. I commented that I personally trust Paul Haggis and his Artists for Peace and Justice, http://www.artistsforpeaceandjustice.com/. I know that Paul has been working on Haiti relief for years – and not just as a photo op.  I spoke to Paul yesterday. He was on his way to Haiti, despite being in the midst of round the clock production on a film. He said it was rather personal for him, since a number of close friends were killed by the quakes. That speaks volumes as to Paul’s deep ties and commitment to the beleaguered nation and its people.

WH also suggested that if you could just donate a nominal amount it would make you feel better. Well, Mosey and I took her advice. I’ll tell you straight up, we were only able to contribute $25.  It is all relative. It made us feel like we were doing at least something.

For those who have an attitude that Haiti is not their problem, fine. But, I did a lot of research on Haiti a couple years back while writing a book. I am going to share with you the draft chapter that dealt with Haiti below. It is rough, and it might shock your sensibilities and some of your stable data. I am not attempting to go political on anyone. I’m not recruiting anyone for anything.  I’m just sharing some facts that have been kept from the public view by the powers that be for some time. If nothing else, it might help dispel some ingrained false perceptions you did not even know that you carried around with you. From my perspective, a contribution to Haiti ain’t a hand out,  it is a hand back.

Chapter 4

The American media and entertainment industry is fond of portraying Africa as a land of inherently savage, backward people. A review of the history of Africa vis a vis American media, politics, literature and film reveals a studied 350 year campaign to denigrate an entire race of humanity and the very land from which it was born. And it continues to this day, albeit more subtle than in the earlier days.

We briefly examine two countries that white America has defined as the epitome of failed black rule; the Caribbean island nation of Haiti and the heart of the African continent, Nigeria.

Haiti has become a modern metaphor for “failed state.” History has been very cleverly written by the conquerers to misrepresent who made it fail.

Haiti was the first and last slave state that was liberated exclusively by the slaves themselves. Prior to the 19th century, Haiti was widely considered as the richest land in the world. It was estimated that a significant percentage of France’s economy was built on the exports from its Haitian plantations.

Toussaint L’Overture is known as the liberator of Haiti. He lead some of the most heroic campaigns in world military history against technologically advanced and numerically larger French and British forces. For generations his revolution was cited by both pro and anti slavery forces as the most barbarous in history. Pro-slavery advocates used Haiti as the example of what would occur to white America if black slaves were not physically and psychologically tamed to obey their masters. Anti-slavery folks pointed to Haiti as a scare tactic against plantation owners, predicting the most blood curdling atrocities when the black slaves ultimately revolted in the South.

Yet, the truth is that Toussaint L’Overture was anything but savage. L’Overture was given a measure of freedom by his master that the vast majority of slaves were not. His master encouraged L’Overture to become educated, which he took full advantage of. Ultimately L’Overture came to the rescue of his former white master and curbed the natural impulses of the Haitian revolutionaries to exact revenge and inflict punishment upon their esrstwhile overlords – an impulse carried out to one degree or another in all Caucasian revolutions. The acts of the Haitians against their former masters were tame by comparison to the atrocities committed during the nearly contemporaneous French revolution.

The carnage that would falsely paint Haiti and its then-African governors as savage for the next two hundred years occurred years after L’Overture had wrested control of the island nation. Upon forcibly severing the yoke of slavery over his people, L’Overture initially did not even declare independence from France. He was willing to allow white French to remain in Haiti and for the country to remain under French jurisdiction. All that he demanded was that slavery be abolished forever.

The most astounding aspect of the Haitian revolution – which you will find in no standard European/American history texts – was the record time in which it rebuilt itself. With the majority of its population forbidden any sort of education,  even the right to learn to read, for many generations the prospects for reconstruction were dim. Yet, L’Overture quickly rebuilt agriculture and commerce, and collected taxes and used them to build infrastructure, most importantly, schools.

Within two years of the revolution, Haiti’s gross domestic product was 2/3rds its pre-revolution level. Nowhere in any land has a country so rapidly recovered economically from a revolution or war that ended in a newly formed government.

L’Overture’s efforts were so steller, the three powers of western civilization conspired amongst, and against, themselves to put period to Haiti’s rise.

The French violated a number of internationally recognized conventions among nations to attempt to regain effective control over Haiti.  By deceit they lured L’Overture into captivity, and shipped him to France. When L’Overture arrived he was  imprisoned in the Alps, where after several months of subjugation to inadequate nutrition and shelter he perished.

Meanwhile, the United States government was conspiring with the British to make Haiti fail. Thomas Jefferson himself expresssed concerned that a successful black nation would send the wrong message to the slaves on US plantations and sought to ‘confine the plague to the island.’ Representatives of the Jefferson administraton and British counterparts embargo’d Haiti, isolating and choking off its interaction with the rest of the world. When the embargo began to destroy the Haitian economy, the British and Americans told L’Overture’s successors that the only way it could enter the world of trade and commerce would be if the Haitian’s executed all remaining French on the island and cut all ties with France.

After complying with US and British demands, the Haitians learned they’d been subjected to a bait and switch con. Instead of lifting the embargos, the world powers broadly disseminated the ‘atrocities’ the Haitians had commited against the remaining French in Haiti to paint people of African descent as having an inherent inability to civilize or govern themselves. The American sanctions against Haiti stayed in place for more than fifty years, when they were finally cancelled by Abraham Lincoln’s administration. By then Haiti was a virtual anarchy with much of its natural resources stolen by western powers. And once the American Civil War reconstruction efforts were discredited and abolished, more sanctions and lopsided trade policies were inflicted upon Haiti for decades to come.

For over one hundred and fifty years western corporate interests have looted Haiti for its natural resources and have twice incited the US government to invade and occupy the country to protect their interests.

It fairly makes one wonder what would have become of the emerald island nation had its independence been nurtured rather than suppressed.
