Reports Wanted at idleorgs.com

Izhar Perlman has established a central point for informing the public accurately as to the fraud that is David Miscavige’s “Ideal Org” ponzi scheme.

Izhar’s site is easy to find at idleorgs.com.

It is interactive.  You just send a proposed post, text and supporting photos, exposing Miscavige false representations with evidence of the true state of affairs he lies about, to Izhar at info@idleorgs.com.  In short order Izhar will post it for the world to see.

I tried it with recently received evidence of Mountain View Idle Org false representations and Izhar posted it in minutes: Mountain View Idle Org.

Scientology Inc Busted by Village Voice

Editor in Chief of the Village Voice Tony Ortega has published a pretty definitive piece on the source of virtually all black propaganda on the net about Indies.

Scientology Inc Busted by Village Voice

Tony did a great job of investigating and exposing David Miscavige’s Church of Scientology International Office of Special Affairs (dirty tricks and propaganda arm of Scientology Inc) as the the central coordinating point for dozens of sites filled with false and defamatory material on Indies.

Not surprisingly, given the length and complexity of the piece, Tony got one thing wrong that I would like to correct.

Tony wrote that Monique Rathbun (Mosey) took action against the church of Scientology sites when they began to target her.  Wrong.  Monique went after Scientology Inc’s OSA only after they started targeting our peeps (folks who had come to visit us and supported us in other ways).  Those who know Mosey personally can understand that.

New York Times Says God Is Alive

Well, that may be an over-statement.  But, a column in the Sunday edition of the New York Times by Nicholas D. Kristof may also be a good sign of how the times are changing, Learning to Respect Religion.  Kristof notes that atheists and scientists seem to be increasingly  recognizing the good that religion has done in the evolution of humanity across the centuries.

A little detour is in order to explain why I view Kristof’s column so positively.

Philosopher Ken Wilber treats the differentiation of the fields of art, morals (religion), and science as the foundation that ushered in the age of enlightenment in his thought-provoking book A Brief History of Everything.  He reminds us that until a few hundred years ago religion made advances in science and art a dangerous proposition.  But, he brings the conversation up to the present and suggests a further positive step in our evolution.  That is, a trend toward more integration of art, morals, and science.  That is not to say regression back to the days where one got burned at the stake for looking through a telescope and reporting what he saw.  Instead, Wilbur is talking about understanding and integrating the spirit into art and science, integrating advances in rational thought into art and study of the spirit, and integrating aesthetics in religion and science.

Another good read along these lines is Scott M. Tyson’s The Unobservable Universe.  Tyson is a scientist that began to tread on the province of the spirit, through pushing the envelope of science.  He contends his ventures resulted in him being treated much as scientists of the Middle Ages might be treated by the Catholic Church. Except it is the scientific community treating a trailblazer like that in the present.

Incidentally, I highly recommend A Brief History.  It was critical in unchaining me mentally and spiritually from an adult life spent in a religion that was Medieval in its super individuation from advances in art and science and morality and the evolution of civilization as a whole.

Whether the New York Times thinks God is alive or dead, that there is a trend toward integrating art, religion and science in my view is a very heartening sign.

By the by, notwithstanding Elton John’s lyrics in his wonderful song Levonthe New York Times never did declare that God was dead.  Refs:

Scientology’s Heretic

This weekend’s UK Independent magazine cover story hits kinda close to home.  Warning: contains juvenile descriptions of OT III data.

UPDATE 4/7: GAWKER coverage.

I am informed that Scientology Inc is already spamming the Independent’s site with hate messages, including a full Freedom magazine article, in response.

Never a dull moment.

Mike Rinder: The Village Voice Interview

Mike Rinder exposes David Miscavige and his Scientology Inc torture and re-education camp called ‘the Hole.’   He discusses the mind set of a corporate Scientologist subjected to such treatment.  He touches on other subjects of interest to Independent Scientologists, fence-sitters, and under-the-radar folk.

Scientology Order or Disorder?

Scientology Inc Creating Independents

From HCO Policy Letter 7 September 1963:

There can be no personal security without easily accessible, swift and fair justice within a group.  The jurisprudence employed must be competent, acceptable to the members of the group and effective in accomplishing good order for the group and personal rights and security for its individual members.

Justice used for revenge, securing advantages for a clique, increases disorder.

Justice should serve as a means of establishing guilt or innocence and awarding damages to the injured.  The fact of its use should not preestablish guilt or award.  Justice which by its employment alone establishes an atmosphere of guilt or greed is harmful and creates disorder.

Justice should clarify.  Good justice in effect runs out group engrams.  Bad justice runs them in.

I have been working for some time on a system of justice acceptable to Scientologists and have evolved one in “Committees of Evidence.”  These work excellently by actual test and satisfy the requirements of justice.

I require that full use be made of these committees at once in all matters relating to Scientology organizations, groups and concerns.

I do not recommend that individuals in authority act in disciplinary measures or capacities without employing Committees of Evidence.

– L Ron Hubbard, Founder

The following occurred yesterday at the Mecca of Corporate Scientology.  It is typical of what has been happening just about every day at the ‘friendliest place in the world’ for the past several years.

My name is Uwe Stern, I am German and I am what you would call a pretty normal Scientology parishioner. I joined SCN in 1987.

I did not do much major courses, just the old HQS and a student hat (twice because of GAT) and got audited to Clear. I was a staff member at a Munich Mission (Scientology Mission of Nymphenburg) from 1989 to 1999, this mission is now  closed down because of financial irregs caused by a) the finance police and b) a corrupt mission holder afterwards (long story spare me the details). I was on staff for that mission for 10 years as a Treasury Director (I know, not very exciting, but someone has to do it and I am a number cruncher). I never was much interested in a technical post, admin is more my thing. During this time I had my share of weird management decisions of the church, handlings of the tax offices of Germany and OSA, the latter on a nearly daily basis.

Then I was posted for 2.5 yrs as Treasury Director at Munich Org finalizing 7 balance sheets under heavy (INT) pressure.

Because I also was on the board of the Mission Nymphenburg and per legal law of Germany the Board Members can be hold responsible for financial irregs and the Church did not move fast enough to really protect us, I decided to move to the US, my country of choice anyway (long story too) and arrived with my family (wife and daughter) in Clearwater in 2002.

Uwe Stern

Long story short, because of lack of funds we never really took any major steps on the bridge since. End of 2010 I found out about the weird stuff going on in the church. Not that I had no hints before that. Like being denied to leave the parking lot at Ruth Eckard Hall after the 2007 release of the basics event (buy or die, I nearly ran the car over that SO member stopping us). Or like seeing the flashy stats ALWAYS going up (no stat is always going up) on events I attended. Or like ……

But it still came as a surprise! How could I NOT have seen this earlier. Dumbass me.

This was followed by a 2 month full time research and ended with me quietly resigning from the Church. Of course there my marriage went, as I was not able to bring my then wife to see it too.

Fast forward to PT. I got a call from the Chief Student MAA of the coachmen. I was seen with an SP, Angela LeMay, at Starbucks. The MAA said someone had written a report. Me asking why I don’t have a copy of that report the MAA paddled back, saying it was a Things That Should Not Be report because the person reporting did not know for sure if I was how I am. Crap, she knows me very well, right  Desiree Lutz? (Ohh, that’s how it is done, label it TTSNB report so you don’t have to send a copy, laughable). I asked to see the declare and we made an appointment to meet the same day (did only wait for 10 mins, that’s a record).

I asked the MAA to show me the declare, which he did. On my question to get a copy the answer was “It is church property”, me asking if I can take a picture of it, same answer : no., no copy. The accusations in this declare were very vague. Just, she is connect to a squirrel group and ensnarled another church member with entheta (not the wording used, out of mind).

Me asking the MAA if she got a copy, him saying that he thinks she got one. I then confronting him with the fact she did not; it ending with him uttering something like “that should then be reported”. Me forgetting then to say that she probably did not get one as it is Church property.

Anyway, I also asked to see the report on me, never got to see it.

Now the juicy part. Me asking to see the comm Ev held on Angela, him answering that he does not have it nor has he seen it. Me then asking why she did not get one or at LEAST a phone call before hand. To which he had nothing to say. Me then confronting him with the fact that she knows about the report from facebook and that that would be a case of libeling; he could only utter “that should be reported”.

I then compared this to the Third Reich where there were “Blockwarts” (people assigned to a block to watch what other say and do to turn them in to the Gestapo).

He then wanted to know who enlighted me to the “dark” side (In fact I find it lighter) I just replied,  “I look and don’t listen.” Like reading the freedom mag from 2009 and the St. Petersburg Times and coming to the conclusion that the only thing both sides come to agree to is that there were beatings going on in the upper management of the church for ten years. I mean, if that would be any other corporation they would fire BOTH sides and control the damage and this Church is doing nothing for 10 years? Another reason for me I told him is the fact that the parishioners should spend their money on the bridge not on real estate. All comes down to the fact that the church does NOT live by it’s own policies.

Since I was not in the church for over 1year, I told him so. He then showed me the Suppressive Acts Policy on my question what would happen now to me. Saying that I could talk to everybody but that the policies would cover what would happen then. Which means there will be a Golden Rod issued on me as I am not disconnecting from anybody that I don’t see fit, That Golden Rod I probably never get to see. He also said I would by leaving the church and not be protected by policy. I can fortify that easily if policy obviously is not lived by the church.

I don’t regret my time within the fold, there were fun times too. I don’t know if I will continue with any Scientology services, but I have to say there is specifically at the lower end of the bridge a lot of truth for me in it. I am still operating on all the finance policies I studied. And, I will certainly not be doing ANY services in this organization.

Right now I am more into living life and enjoying life than anything else. Things I could not do previously because of lack of funds.

And I hope the Church as it is presenting itself now will die soon. The Tech should live on in the hands of the independents and made available to everybody who wants to use it for a fair exchange. But, I might not be part of that.

If you want to contact me you will find me on facebook or email me at uwe@mrwebwiz.com

Scientology Disconnect and Facebook Nazis

Opinion Leader Cyber-Lynching by Scientology Inc

Here is the latest from Angela LeMay in Clearwater.   Scientology Inc is actively creating Independents by the minute.
Marty,

Earlier today my housemate was called by the MAA regarding a report
that he was seen downtown(Clearwater)with a declared SP – me.

The MAA was seeking agreement that he would just disconnect from me
as a result of the phone call, but instead my housemate demanded a
meeting to see the Golden Rod.

My housemate said the issue stated I was declared for en-snarling
another Scientologist in entheta and being a member of a squirrel
group but when asked the MAA had no other specifics.

My housemate informed the MAA that I wasn’t aware of the declare
and asked if a Comm Ev had been convened, the MAA didn’t know and
said a Comm Ev didn’t have to be done as I had committed
suppressive acts.

As I did not join a squirrel group and as far as en-snarling
another Scientologist in entheta – I hadn’t a clue who???.
At first, I thought this all came about due to my refusal to
disconnect from “Declared Sp’s” on FB and the Church just wanted to
put a head on a spike and mine would do nicely.

Then I realized, wait a minute… for the last 24 years, I WAS part
of a suppressive, en-snarling, squirrel group called:
the Church of Scientology – led and being run a ground by one David
Miscavige.

I have come to my senses and have recanted. I am no longer a part
of or support that group of mis-guided individuals who blindly
support and robotically practice injustice, out-tech, off policy,
crush regging, glutz PR, suppressive acts, etc…
More of my story to come… and my housemate is typing his
announcement this very moment…stay tuned.

Opinion Leader Cyber-Lynching by Scientology Inc

The insanity that Scientology Inc has become is playing out LIVE on the internet.  Angela LeMay, an Opinion Leader that corporate Scientology should not be messing with, is being subjected to a modern-day, cyber-lynching by David “Bull” Miscavige, cyber-mobs and all.  Check it out below. We’ll keep you posted.

Here is Angela’s communication alerting me to the situation:

Marty & Mike,

FYI, I received notice from a friend on FB that they received a
call from OSA informing them that I have been Declared SP along
with Marsha Friedman and Guillermo Colin and to unfriend us all.

I have not heard anything at all from the church directly, but,
rumor has it that I have been declared because of my connection to
my ex-husband Brett Haugen – declared in 2010. Another friend said
they heard it was because I had posted anonymously on a squirrel
website and forwarded entheta comm. My friends list has decreased
by 300 in the last 72 hours – their loss.

I have attached images of one of the FB post stating that I am
declared.

Also, I have saved images of numerous other similar FB messages
over the past 2 years urging me to disconnect from “SP’s” on FB.
Let me know if you would like those as well.

Your Friend,

Angela

For those who do not know why I consider Angela an Opinion Leader, her imminent declaration of independence will make that clear – or least my introductory comments will.

Move On Up A Little Higher

Many people have asked me about the meaning of the title of this blog.

One of the original inspirations for doing what we have been doing for the past three years came from listening to an early 1960’s interview of  gospel singer and civil rights activist Mahalia Jackson conducted by American popular historian and civil rights activist Studs Terkel.   For the next several decades until he died in his nineties Studs often told a story about Mahalia that he often characterized as “what it is all about” and “what this world needs now.”

Studs Terkel on Mahalia Jackson

I guess another way of putting it is integrity.  Mahalia in turn was inspired, and inspired others, by song, particularly this one:

The Words to the Music from Mahalia. Thanks for the Sunday foot-tapping time Marty. What a fun trip this was!

Songwriters: Rev W H Brewster
One these morning soon one morning
I’m gonna lay down my cross get me a crown
Soon one evening late in the evening
Late in the evening I’m going home live on high
Soon as my feet strike Zion
Lay down my heavy burdens
Put on my robe in glory
Going home one day and tell my story
I’ve been coming over hills and mountains
Gonna drink from the Christian Fountain

You know all God’s sons and daughters that mornin’ now
Will drink that old healing water
And we gonna live on forever, we gonna live on forever
We gonna live on up in glory afterwhile.
Oh Lord I’m going out sight-seeing in Beulah
March all around God’s altar
Walk and never get tired
Fly Lord and never falter
I’m gonna move on up a little higher
Gonna meet old man Daniel
Gonna move on up a little higher
Gonna meet the Hebrew children
Gonna move on up a little higher
Meet Paul and Silas
Gonna meet my friends and kindred
Gonna move on up a little higher
Gonna meet my loving mother
I’m gonna move on up a little higher
Gonna meet the Lily of the valley
I’m gonna feast with the Rose of Sharon
It will be always howdy howdy
It will be always howdy, howdy
It will be always howdy howdy and never goodbye
Oh will you be there early one morning
Will you be there somewhere round the altar
Will you be there oh when the angels shall call the roll
God knows I’ll be waiting
Yes I’ll be watching somewhere on the altar
Well I’ll be waiting oh at the beautiful yes golden gate
Well well soon as my feet strike Zion
Gonna lay down my heavy burden
I’m going to put on my robe in glory
I’ve been coming over the hills and mountains
Gonna drink from the Christian Fountain
You know all God’s sons and daughters that mornin’
Will drink that old healing water

Meet me there somewhere on the altar

L Ron Hubbard’s Worst Enemy – Part II

Miscavige: Hubbard’s Worst Enemy Part I

Ortega Calls Bullshit on Miscavige

Here is the promised rundown on Tony Ortega’s report of this year’s annual L Ron Hubbard Birthday Celebration event from Clearwater Florida.

It is just about the thirtieth anniversary of my introduction to the strange case of Gerry Armstrong.   Armstrong was the LRH archivist who left the church in 1981.  That year a tremendous amount of attention had gone onto how the church was promoting L Ron Hubbard to the public.  That was because the church was confronting a) the top eleven officials of the Guardian’s Office (including Hubbard’s wife Mary Sue) were facing lengthy jail sentences, while b) a rash of lawsuits had been filed naming the church as well as L Ron Hubbard as defendants, and c) the central claim of each suit was fraud, more specifically alleging that the church lured them into Scientology based on false claims as to L Ron Hubbard’s super man biography.  Essentially the claim was that if L Ron Hubbard was not an engineer, nuclear physicist, wounded and crippled war hero who was miraculously healed by his own brainchild Dianetics, and he was not the model of perfect virtue since then, why, then they were defrauded into spending money and devoting years to Scientology.

Now, this is a very short-handed summary of a history that was not clear to me for many years after the facts – notwithstanding my personal involvement in some of it – , not even totally clear until very recently.  The whole story will arrive soon enough.

Armstrong pointed out to L Ron Hubbard’s messengers that something had better be done about the representations the church was making. He based that concern on having worked tirelessly to provide David Miscavige’s Special Project (of which I was then the files man for) with material to prove the claims about Hubbard to be true, and coming up empty handed on many counts.  David Miscavige’s handling for Armstrong’s origination was to send Norman F Starkey down to the Commodores Messenger Org International to give Armstrong a Severe Reality Adjustment (SRA – loud verbal brow beating) for being “disaffected.”   Armstrong then blew, with a few boxes of LRH archives with which to defend himself.   In response to being hounded by Miscavige directed PIs for several months, Armstrong reacted by devoting the rest of his life to proving that L Ron Hubbard was a fraud.

As was Miscavige’s habit, he continued to pursue Armstrong as the devil incarnate while at the same time taking Armstrong’s advice, just ignoring the source of it communicating as if it were his own.  No more representations about LRH went out without my authorization – which was backed by an extensive fact-checking process.

We sued Armstrong for theft of the archives documents.  The trial occurred in early 1984.  We had two very competent trial lawyers doing a yeoman-like job putting on the plaintiff’s case for several weeks.  By the time the plaintiff’s case rested I had the unenviable task of informing Miscavige that the attorneys wanted authority to enter settlement negotiations before the defendant’s case was presented.  The attorneys demonstrated that while we could do significant damage to Armstrong’s credibility,  at the end of the day we did not have answers for the far more important and relevant issues – that is, the truth or falsity of representations made by Hubbard and the church about the life of L Ron Hubbard.  What’s more, they explained that by a number of comments by the judge (this was a non-jury trial) it was clear the judge was focusing on that lack of evidence . The attorneys reported that Armstrong’s attorney was amenable to settlement – and that this was a short window of opportunity to protect the image of Hubbard and the church; that once Armstrong’s side had the podium we were in for weeks upon weeks of medieval style Inquisition on L Ron Hubbard (all to be covered by the media).

Miscavige, in his inimitable style, called the attorneys “pussies” (his word) and worse and threatened to fire them if they so much as entertained the thought of “settlement”, let alone mentioned it, again.

The attorneys – and their back up staff – did everything in their power, short of being dragged out of court for defying court orders, to keep a lid on the evidence admitted.  They also did an admirable job of attempting to discredit the witnesses and evidence they entered.

But, in the end their prognosis turned out to be quite conservative.  The judge issued a ruling about Hubbard who of course was not there, finding as a matter of fact that he was a “pathological liar” and “paranoid” and  “schizophrenic.” Not only did L Ron Hubbard’s life history get annihilated by the world wide media – it continued to be for thirty years, with only lame denials in response, as Gerry Armstrong was right all along in this respect: the church had little to no to counter documentation for the claims the church had loudly trumpeted about L Ron Hubbard’s life.  Fact of the matter is, the church’s lack of ability to document many of the claims has been such a given fact that it has bred the type of disbelief expressed by Tony Ortega in his most recent article.   He can’t believe that that church is not only focusing on the claims, but thirty years later they are exaggerating them even more.

Some of the representations covered in this year’s March 13th event – such as the alleged Oregon sub chasing incident was “regarded as among the most regionally famed encounters of the war” – are so easily discredited that those in the know have to wonder: are the people making such representations attempting to set up L Ron Hubbard for a fall?

It gets worse.  The “L Ron Hubbard Biographer” attempts to position LRH as saving the world from “evil” scientists bent on blowing it up.  A five minute google research project (for the culturally or historically illiterate who don’t already know it) would show that those “evil” scientists allegedly plotting to destroy earth were engaged in precisely the opposite activity – they were the original movement to demand “conscience” be incorporated into science because of the destructive power of what they were discovering.

To position Richard Nixon with Robert Oppenheimer and Albert Einstein is about as credible as trying to position Adolph Hitler with leading members of the German underground anti-Nazi movement.

It is pure insanity that is issuing from the lips of Dan Sherman and David Miscavige.  It is madness.  I would write it off as only such if I were not aware of the fact that David Miscavige is acutely aware of who ultimately takes the brunt of this.

What is more a travesty is the overall technique of Sherman and Miscavige.  They are attempting to literalize L Ron Hubbard.  As any intelligent student of Scientology knows, one of Hubbard’s virtues is his story telling ability.  He can lecture for one hour on the subject of a simple principle; and he can tell a number of colorful stories and anecdotes to get the audience to view it from a number of angles to the point where they can understand the principle conceptually.  Of course, we also know that Hubbard has done that literally thousands of times and it was all recorded for posterity. So, Sherman and Miscavige come along – take an anecdote out,  alone, bereft of any context for what principle it is being used to illustrate, and tell the public:

a) Every word is literally true.

b) That “a” is of utmost importance, or why would they be conveying it with such ostentatious implant a/v technology; and thus

c) L Ron Hubbard ought to be viewed and treated like a God, and not as the thinking and living out of the box kind of guy he was, and thus

d) Scientology  is really about belief, and not observation and workability, and thus

e)  David Miscavige must be viewed as the Pope, infallibility and all.

While this madness is clearly intended to up the mushroom treatment (being kept in the dark and being fed manure) of captive cult member audiences – David Miscavige is well aware of what its long term effect will be, more years of dragging L Ron Hubbard through the mud publicly as allegedly making false claims as to his history, qualifications and competence.

I keep asking, and I keep meaning it when I do, how can it get any darker than that?
