Tony Ortega has provided the second installment of Corporate Scientology’s Operation South Park at the Village Voice website: Scientology’s South Park Investigation: To Send In A Young Mole
According to an original Corporate Scientology Office of Special Affairs (OSA, terror and harassment arm of Corporate Scientology) memorandum OSA cased the offices of South Park’s Trey Parker and Matt Stone in April 2006.
Within a couple weeks the following text appeared in an OSA Intelligence Office Daily Report (a report Chairman of the Board of Corporate Scientology David Miscavige reads avidly, daily):

SOUTH PARK: A PI met with a young filmmaker who recently graduated college (who was a student of Eric Sherman). The filmmaker recently did an interview with Lloyd Kaufman, a friend of Trey Parker and Matt Stone. He has agreed to assist to establish some comm lines in the South Park Studios and to try and get intelligence on their plans with regard to Scientology. He is going to approach Kaufman to see if Kaufman can get him an introduction to Parker and Stone and either possibly get a job as an intern there or as a writer (he has seen every episode of South Park).

Ortega reports that he has been attempting to reach Sherman to no avail. You can bet OSA has Sherman under very tight control; he will either never surface or will issue a blanket denial if media interest persists. Sherman believes his immortal future depends upon playing nice with OSA and David Miscavige.
In the meantime, corporate Scientology’s chairman David Miscavige has called the dogs out on Mike Rinder who is a former Corporate Scientology insider who witnessed much of what Mr. Ortega and I have posted over the past two days. Rinder is in the United Kingdom for an important speaking engagement. Here is a report from a gentleman named Alex Castillo who met with Rinder in London today:
Today I met Mike Rinder in London. He wanted to take his friend to Buckingham Palace to see the famous change of the Royal Guard, so we three agreed to meet at a nearby tube station. The meeting had been arranged via Mike’s email and Sam’s phone. And what do you know? by the time I arrived at our meeting place a “PI” was already stationed near where Mike and his friend were waiting for me!! This just shows that the invasion of privacy being carried out under Miscavige’s orders is alive and well.
After we met and had given each other a big hug (filmed or photographed by the “PI”), we made our way to the Palace, followed by the PI. As we stood in front of Buckingham Palace waiting for the show to start, this poor guy just stood there looking bored and taking pictures. Mike was friendly and polite with him, even said something to him. I was friendly too, I smiled and asked him to smile while I took a picture of him holding his camera. He actually posed for the picture and smiled!! Later on another PI showed up with a bigger camera with a big, long microphone and all, and made a point of aiming it at us at close range. When the change of the guards finished, we walked a few blocks towards Trafalgar Square with the intention of going into a cafe. They followed all the way. The three of us went into a busy cafe, they stayed at the front door and didn’t notice that the cafe had a side door into another street, so we just calmly walked out of the side door, walked a few paces down the street, went into another cafe and disappeared from their view! From the window of the second cafe where we went in I saw one them running to the corner and frantically looking around trying to find us, but they never did, so me and Mike and his friend were able to sit down, have a coffee and enjoy our converstation undisturbed by these poor guys who are getting paid to be “Private Eyes”. Me, having heard so much about what these people do, had never experienced such bizarre situation and I must say that I am still in two minds about wheather I should laugh (I must say it WAS funny) or feel shocked by the sheer stupidity of what Miscavige is spending millions of dollars of parishioners hard earned money on. In any case, I had a great time conversing with Mike after almost 30 years of not seeing him in the flesh.
So, this experience today tells me: 1) Miscavige is still ordering the hacking of phones and emails and 2) He’s spending Church of Scientology money just to harrass his “enemies”. I know this is no news to anyone here, but I thought I would add more confirmation of it. Maybe South Park would be interested in this episode??

Phone hacking has recently been a huge story in the UK. Maybe the Daily Mail would be interested in the COS’ antics..
to the photographer who kept taking photos at Sam’s: what you were doing was illegal and in breach of right to privacy (aside from the Protection from Harassment Act as you were asked to stop, yet you continued)
You were taking photos of minors. If I ever see any photos of my 5 month old daughter published either in print or on the internet, I promise you, you will feel the full force of the law. And more to the point, why are you taking photos of children? There are certain lines you just don’t cross, and involving BABIES definitely shows your lack of humanity and judgement. Please destroy any digital images pursuant to the Data Protection Act of my baby and to think that you have her photo in your camera makes me feel ill.
I would be grateful if anyone finds any photos of a baby at Sam’s to please let me know. She was the only baby there, so distinguishable.

It may well be true that Rick Sherman “believes his immortal future depends upon playing nice with OSA and David Miscavige.” But I would have to believe that after this memo appears, his current-life consulting business could take a big hit.
Who in Hollywood would hire the guy for consulting and advice after spending two minutes with Google turns up all sorts of interesting stuff about the OSA connection, thanks to your posts and the Village Voice articles? Would you want to risk telling Sherman anything that could be used against you in the future after finding out that Sherman attempted to parlay his Hollywood relationships into blackmail on Parker and Stone?
Tough spot to be in: try to save your “immortal future” by being an OSA puppet at the cost of preventable negative PR footbullets that decimate your current income. Oops.

Oh man, if South Park stared writing into their episodes random instances of SCN PI’s following the kids around, recording them, digging through trash…dude, they could have SO much fun writing things for Cartman to do to those guys. They could write the squirrel busters into some episodes…it would be HILARIOUS television. It woould be an un-ending source of comedy.
Factually OSA has barely evolved from what the GO had become in it’s later days. OSA investigates EVERY person, company, group, religion, and on and on that has anything bad to say about Scientology and not just the main people but the friends, family and co-workers of any such “attacker”. OSA always looks for a “chink in the armor” in which to defeat it’s enemies and their end product is the complete nullification of said attacker by any means short of hiring hit men (though I wouldn’t put it passed DM).
In the mid 1990’s OSA had investigated MTV, Nickelodeon and Viacom because MTV was to air a story on cults. There are dozens of other such examples in their hidden vaults (the one with holes in it that keep ending up on the internet).
That IAS war chest funds these silly investigations that, when found out about, really just makes Scientology look bad. Most people aren’t smart enough to differentiate between corporate Scientology and LRH’s philosophy and just damn the whole thing. OSA is blinded by David Miscavige’s greed and stupidity. It should take that “think for yourself” slogan and start practicing.

Brian, It took me a year, several legal threats of my saying I would hire an attorney, and by month 9, I ended up writing to the Attorney General of my state (cc’ed to the CoS). While the AG did nothing, and said as much in a followup letter to me, I think the pressure was put on at that point and the CoS finally paid the money 3 months later. It was in the mid-five figures.
And I thought the Eric Sherman posting here was THE Eric Sherman (the film-maker) and had gone Independent. I guess there were/are a couple different Eric Shermans in Scientology…

hate to say this but photographing people in public for non commercial purposes is not illegal in the uk. persistently photographing an individual may constitute harassment. photographing kids would be illegal if there was a sexual element. if i’m wrong please give the specific uk legal acts. why can’t i type capitals in this field?

This is a good agency and is in the same county as Flag and the ship office.
Don’t worry about invoices that you may no longer have. The cult has the records and will send you copies as your cycle moves along. If you find unauthorized debits, you’ll request that money be given back to you.
Know this, you will get your repayment although sometimes they drag their heels. If no response from the cult after 3 – 4 weeks, file a complaint with the agencies above. The cult HATES being on the radar of a gov agency. The key thing here is to get these requests into a gov file which is why you need to file with one of the above two agencies.
When writing to the gov agencies don’t write volumes. That will only confuse the gov worker who is really trying to help you. The last thing you want is to give them the problem of trying to figure out what you’re saying. Persist. Stay light. Have fun.

I honestly think sometimes, that David Miscavige thinks that PR is actually like “whitewash”. It is used to cover up things that make you look bad. He also seems to think that it is for “getting what you want” no matter what lies you have to tell to get it.

PR = twisting the facts to make things seem better than they are.
PR = saying whatever it takes to GET MONEY out of people.
PR = made up things to make you look better.
PR = being able to say one thing and getting away with doing something else.

About three years ago, I wrote a South Park episode that I hand delivered to Matt and Trey at the yearly TAM conference in Vegas. They took the document, but it never aired. I understand that they will rarely accept unsolicited scripts. The star of the episode was Penn Jillette, who as played as an ape.
I think we should collect ideas for a South Park episode starring David Miscavige. I’m visualizing DM trying to impress the four South Park kids with various diminutive toys such as a high end chrome tricycle, with POB engraved on the steering nut. Help me out here, let’s write an episode of South Park.

If there were reasons in the past why members of the church of scientology should have rights and not be discriminated against, those reasons are long gone. An employer has the right to know about one’s criminal or drug background before employing them. The revolting abuse of rights by members of the church of scientology put these people in the same category.

The AG’s office in Florida really tried to be helpful. They would have mediated between the parties. For example, between myself and the Ship. The problem came in when the C of S realized they could refuse to participate in mediation. This left the AG’s office with nowhere to go. So now what?
I’ve thought this over and think it’s time for a new strategy. To anyone trying in vain to get your money back I think it would be worth your time to phone your US Senator. Each state has two; pick one and call their office. You’ll be asked to follow it up with a written report but by calling first you’ll know who in the Senator’s office to send the info to. They love to help their constituents.
If enough people start doing this, it could put a lot of attention on the cult and who knows where it could lead. What would Miscavige do if he were ordered to appear in front of a Senate hearing? Think about that one!

What country do you live in and what country are you talking about? A corporation practising employment discrimination against a person because of their religious affiniliation? I don’t live in the USA at the present time, but as an American I can tell you that the TRUE values of my country do not condone religious bigotry (of course we have had it and still do, but our values project getting RID of it, not INCREASING it). A person who calls himself a Scientologist should not be any more discriminated against because of the practices of their church hierachy than a Catholic because of its Pope or Priests’ actiions re: sexual abuse or a Muslim because of the actions of people who commit terror in the name of Islam. Of course, any individual Muslim, Catholic or Scientologist might certainly bear some responsibility for the actions of their religion (whether by their agreement or financial support, etc), but this still does not condone discrimination against people because of their particular religion, race or ethnic background.

Mike, it was GREAT to see you too mate. In my mind our getting together was long overdue and I am happy that we managed it while I am still steady on my pins! I enjoyed every minute of it, except , of course the invasive presence of the PIs following our every move and practically shoving their cameras and microphone in our faces. I am still shaking my head in amazement because I still fail to comprehend how these expensive and nonsensical acts can possibly contribute effectively to Miscavige’s “defence” against the “enemies of the church”. I could only think of them as a couple of annoying flies buzzing around us. Nothing more. But we found our fly swatter in the form of the Cafe’s side door that these idiots didn’t notice ha!
I only have one piece of advice for you Mike. Next time you walk a long distance in the company of elderly people, walk a bit slower g..d.. m.. t! :))
